Special Attack animations

Special: their name change depending on the character, but they are all B attacks
N: neutral B (ie. SpecialN)
Hi: up B (ie. SpecialHi)
S: side B (ie. SpecialS)
Lw: down B (ie. SpecialLw)
Air: any B attack in the air (ie. SpecialAirS = side B in the air)
depending on the character, there will be something after "Special" and it's direction. "SpecialAirNShoot" would be neutral B while in the air and shooting

Final: using a final smash
FinalAir: using a final smash in the air
some characters will have extra stuff after "Final"


Shield/Dodge animations

GuardOn: start shield
Guard: shielding
GuardOff: stop shield

EscapeN: spot dodge
EscapeF: dodge forward
EscapeB: dodge backward

This seems like a good idea, though I think I've had my fair share of graphic testing today, so I'll get pictures some other time.

But yeah, Segab, the Universal Graphic Effects list should be considered done, because I tried testing the numbers after 87, and I didn't get any effects to come up. So I do think that list is done...Now, just for the external ones.


If I could just remember how I used Hex Workshop to open the Hex file within the 9 bin file, I could help out with that -_-

I see the huge list of universal Graphics Effects and I figure: 'If only I knew what it looked like.' Well, why don't we start a thread for just that? That way we don't have to waste time testing each one.

Here's how it works: if you test out a graphic, take a picture of it and post it in this thread. Specify which one it is, of course. Mention details like how long it lasts and stuff. Character-Specific and External Graphics are more than welcome. I'll start it off:

Universal Graphic Effects:

Graphic Effect: Electricity [13]

The best way to do this is make the x offset 50 and the y offset -50

Then you can see the graphic without any obstructions.


Take captain falcon, add the graphic to his 3 A moves, (48,49 and 50)

then take the pictures.

I'll assume you're editing a special.  Specials have different subactions for use in the air.  Edit the graphic of that.

The numbers for the graphic files are guesses on my part, so they may be inaccurate. Also, it seems to me that External Graphic Effect and Graphic Effect are the same thing. Graphic Effect however, is most commonly seen calling from file #0 (The global graphic effects) so that's where that misconception most likely came from.

This is probably as good a place as any to post this. A few people have been asking if it's possible to add the FS aura to a character using PSA. You should be able to use 47 and 48 to construct it (The FS aura is made up of multiple spheres that change color - judging by their description in the OP, those seem to be the ones.) Alternatively, I know that one of the LA-Bits hold a flag that can be switched on to activate the FS Aura as well...

Hmmm well even that list is incomplete.. but those ARE what can be used outside of Final Smashes... 
i know the file for the beam that comes out of link's hand during the beginning of the Final smash but not the triforce

I don't think that Link's bombs are article 06. I looked in his down B sub action  and didn't even find an article. I tried replacing his arrows with article 06 and when I tried to shoot them, Link just pulled out a bow with no arrows.

Links bombs are an item.

Also, hey Segab, the "NON-STANDARD ITEMS (must be loaded by respective character/stage)" line from the item list. I put Links Bombs on Ness' down-B and they load fine regardless of Links presence. Toon Links loaded without the explosions however, since the cel-shaded explosions are specific to him. The item loads regardless, but possibly buggy.

Also, after playing around with Lucario, I learned that bones 1F and 35 are actually mislabeled.

1F is the left hand.
35 is the right hand.

I'm also assuming the 'arm' bones around them are mislabeled too.

I think my button activated change action is messing with my game

it freezes upon any attempt to end a match, however its not a wii error freeze as the music keeps playing

as if it cant reach the results screen

although its possible me changeing some sound effects altered that and not the button test

by now id think nearly all the bones have been found and kept secret 10 times over

instead of actually helping to make a good resource

Wanna start a thread? I can make a thread or something, and people can just dump all the bones they know there. I know a few of Zelda's and Sheik's =)

The 8-digit code for editing a "Bone Collision" is 06080200.  Upon entering this line, you will see the numerical code itself and not a text-named event as it is not recognized by PSA's premade list of events.  The line will appear as such with 2 parameters to edit, "06080200: 0-XX, 0-Y" where XX is the bone of interest, and Y is the type of body collision.  I personally have not seen any Y values set to anything other than 2, which is the intangible bone collision.

06060100: 0-0, is the command that resets all bone collisions to normal.  One can also reuse the Bone Collision code and set parameter 2 to a normal bone collision to revert individual bones.  These should be used in conjunction with Synchronous/Asynchronous Timers just like offensive collisions.

Example attacks that can be observed in PSA of having these lines of code are Zelda/Sheik's Dsmash, Peach's Usmash/utilt, Fox and Falco's Usmash and Dsmash, etc.

Here are some screenshots of Melee with a couple of Peach's moves that exhibited this property, seen clearly through the game's debug mode:

Using LA:Bit variables, but before I tell you about those, how is your knowledge of PSA in general.  Variables are pretty advanced stuff, so if you are new to PSA it would be difficult to explain easily.

In PSA, in attributes, there is a value 0x0B4, which is character size. Mind you, making it 2 does not double the size, it makes it like 5 times bigger.

Hey can I make an updated version of this thread later?

A lot has happened since this was made and a lot of stuff here is outdated.

For example, Article 3 for Ness and Lucas is PK Starstorm.

The reason it's invisible is because the GFX is in the Final effects.pac, which is only available in Final smash aura form.

Article 3 for Fox is the Landmaster, but only available in Final Smash Aura mode since the model is in FitFoxFinal.

Article 4 is the Landmaster shot.

This goes for Wolf too.

mario.pac is 2.19mb and .pcs is 960kb because i replace fludd with yoshi

10E is a trajectory.  It's equal to 270 degrees (which for Smash is straight down).

Mario's article 3 is his giant fire storm thingy, his Final Smash generates Article 3 but I guess it crashes when used any other time, Luigi's is the same, his Final Smash uses his article 1, so that's probably his Negative Zone bubble. Updating this thread is a good idea so that way people won't have to look through every post for any additional, or corrected info.
