Title: Re: Edward Elric: moving on...
Post by: Rayn on December 17, 2010, 07:15:22 PM
Update: I am no longer working on this. As of now, Pram and Shadowmarth are working on this, with possible help from KingJigglypuff in the far future.

Here is the current moveset.

AAAAA combo- A 5+ attack combo, consisting of Fox's first jab, followed by a modified Samus' Attack12, then another, similar slash from the side, then his SpecialSLw animation, and a final stab that pushes him forward. EPIC.
Dash attack - He spins around three times, knoching the opponent off his/her feet.

Up A- The final attack of his Side B, where he steps forward and swings his sword up and spins.

Side A-  A far-reaching roundhouse kick, followed by a slash to the face. Looks awesome.

Down A-He spins and swings his blade at his opponent's shins.

Up A Smash- Alchemy Storm: His blade shrinks away and he does three uppercuts, each with a different effect.

Side A Smash- a strong slash (Zamus' side-smash)

Down A Smash- He bends over and causes two explosions by his hands.

B- Air pressure- He compresses the air around him and fires it at his opponent's face (Lucas' PK fire animation)

Up B (ground)- Jumping slash- He slashes the enemy into the air, spins around once, grabs them, flips, and crashes down to earth on top of them. My pride and joy.

Up B (air)- He raises both hands and creates strong air currents that push him upwards for around a second and a half.

Side B- Partial Alchemy- at close range, he grabs the opponent and causes an explosion (yes, I know it's Scar's move but Ed did do it once when he fought the armor guards at Lab 5).

Down B (ground)- He crouches and uses alchemy to bury anyone on the ground close to him. (Probably will have multiple charge levels.

Down B (air)- He begins to spin rapidly and dives down to the ground. A suicide move if not used carefully.

N-Air - He spins around twice, hitting the enemy twice with his blade.

B-Air - Unchanged for now

F-Air - A strong slash with long windup and a meteor effect

U-Air - A quick flip-kick upwards that is useful for juggling.

D-Air - He...kicks downwards

Final - Red Water- Ed raises his hand (itemAssist animation) and the air around him explodes with medium damage and medium knockback). After the attack, Ed starts glowing red, is invincible, and gains immense power for around 30 seconds or so. Kind of like Eldiran's Zero 1.4 psa's Final smash.

I have taken down the link to the motionetc so the finished product will be a surprise. If you want/need a copy ask either Shadowmarth or Pram.

OizenX's Blade Edward Elric: http://www.mediafire.com/?qsc3zap2cmgmn3n (http://www.mediafire.com/?qsc3zap2cmgmn3n)

Also, please don't flame me for stupid reasons like "He doesn't even clap his hands when he uses alchemy!" If you don't like it, make your own animations.

It's Fliptocat. :P
So what do you want me to help with? Animating, PSA, both?

Title: Re: Edward Elric
Post by: Rayn on December 17, 2010, 07:24:26 PM
It's Fliptocat. :P
oops...always get that mixed up for some reason.

Anyway, I think that I can do animations if you'd be willing to work on the psa. I'm still learning, btw so don't expect greatness for the first few. Also, like I said in the request topic, I can't use brawlbox or psa at home, so progress on my part will be limited to when I can get to the library. Should be fun ;D

Post by: Fliptocat on December 17, 2010, 07:29:48 PM
Alright, PSA then. Are we using the vertex? Oh, and just PM me or post in this thread when you want me to help, it wouldn't do me any good to start on a PSA before animations are completed. XD

Title: Re: Edward Elric
Post by: Rayn on December 17, 2010, 07:35:10 PM
Will do. I'll let you know when the animations are done (not for a LONG time). And yes, I'd like to use the vertex. If OizenX lets me...

Edit: Yes we can.

I'm sure you'll be able to use it if you ask nicely. I'll be back when I'm needed. :P

Great! I'll put the MotionEtc file in the first post, what would you like to do? I've already got most of the A attacks done, so whatever you'd like to do...

Also, for everyone else, I've updated the opening post to show what's done and what's changed and all that.

 *facepalm*

Hey guys, just wanted to say that for now, I have to abandon this project. I'm sorry, but there's no way I can do this on my own. If you want to continue this project, feel free. The link to the most up-to-date MotionEtc is still in the OP, I only ask that you give me credit for the animations that I've done.

I'm sorry...

I can finally use Brawlbox and PSA on my laptop! This should make progress a lot faster as I will finally have a constant place to work on this project.

@Shadowmarth
So are you in now or later? In your PM you said you were still working on your Shadow Pikachu but here you say you are ready to help?

okay, my computer's being stupid and not letting me upload anything to youtube, but the mediafire link in the OP should work.

If you insist on being assigned moves...how about the smash attacks? I'm not sure how long psa takes, so if that's too much or too little just let me know. Again, I really couldn't care less what moves you choose to do, so long as we are able to make progress.

Nope, no new bones that I know of, though OizenX might have put them into the Ed model. You're better off asking him.

Edit: Just checked the model again and there might be a couple I've missed. There are 5 new bones, ArmBlade0, ArmBlade1, etc until ArmBlade4. That's all I could find. Most of the modifications I've done with regards to his blade have been on ArmBlade1, which (as far as I can tell) controls the actual blade, not his wrist and all that.

Sorry to bump an otherwise dead topic, but I'd like you all to know that...
All normal attack animations are completely finished!  :af2:
All that's left to do is the Final (with accompanying move changes) and throws.

Much apologies for the big necropost, but I just wanted everyone to know...

ShadowMarth lost his copy of the psa, and I am just not feeling inspired enough to continue this project. And I have no intention of coming back to it this time. I'm moving on to stuff I feel I want to do. I apologize to anyone who was waiting for this, but that's just the way I feel.

BTW, for anyone who wants to continue this, feel free to use any animations I've made, just be sure to add me as a collaborator.

no, it's not just that. As I stated before, I've just completely lost interest in the project. I haven't worked on it since around 2 months ago. Anyone else is completely welcome to continue the project, but I've decided to move on.

EDIT: oh, sorry to hear about D.P. Falco, I was looking forward to it.

EDIT2: Actually, you could ask Masamune for help (on Ed I mean). He told me awhile ago that he could help.

Well, not really, the last post was a few days ago. Animations are mostly done (might only need one or two tweaks) and of good quality, so it's up to anyone to make a PSA. If you and ShadowMarth are still willing to do it, i could help a little with moveset and PSA tweaking. Don't expect much cause I'm gonna be really busy until the second week of April, but I'm soon gonna experiment a little with a couple of move ideas.

Updated the OP with latest info, and also I took down the link to the MotionEtc. As of now, you can only get one from myself, Shadowmarth, or Pram.

Title: Re: Re: Edward Elric: moving on...
Post by: Plak on March 26, 2011, 06:46:45 AM
So, ShadowMarth and Pram are doing the PSA but you're done with animating ? Anyway, I saw your animations so I'm sure it will be a success :)

Here are some ideas for the PSAers if they want any :

- Human Transmutation : Ed transmutes himself as he did to get out of Gluttony's stomach to open the Gate, but this time there's no stone around so everyone will have to pay his toll. Ed does the Down-B animation, which creates a large transmutation circle (the aeon psa had something similar iirc). If anyone is caught in its radius, he will be trapped then a dark sphere will grow from the center with red sparks, hiding whatever is going on. As it disappears, everyone inside it suffers high damage and gets stun status, leaving them completely helpless.

- Annihilation : the move he used against Pride. Basically Marth's Final Smash : his blade retracts, he dashes forward, catches the opponent's head (somewhat...) with its right hand, creates lots of red sparks for around a second then send him flying. Other option, close to the original move : the opponents turns into a powerless little homonculus (aka Mr. Saturn). I didn't find the time to experiment on this, but I know for sure it's possible as long as you can automatically chain the FS into a throw. It evens counts towards the score, just like a regular KO.

These are just some ideas and I'm not asking you to use them, but I thought they might be good (and have the advantage of requiring less work than a mode change).
