Title: how do you insert .dat files into the smashbros_sound.brsar?
Post by: ShadowSnake on February 21, 2011, 12:06:18 AM
i noticed with most recent methods of SFX hacking people have been using this program called Sawndz, but i dont know how to insert the .dat files into my smashbros_sound.brsar im used to just hexing them in, whenever i try to insert it using sawndz i get an error because the guide sucks and someone should make a better guide rather then just text.  :notimp:

anyways how would i go about inserting this into my brsar?  :-\ i really want to use this and young link over toon link SFX.

im sure if someone could explain it this will help a number of people.  ;)

Sawndz' .dat files only keep the values typed in fields. They contain no sound data at all. You need to rename the corresponding sound to sound.wav and put it into the directory with Sawndz.

Say, we have "marth sound 0.dat" and "sound 0.wav". Rename "sound 0.wav" to "sound.wav" and put it into the folder with Sawndz. Then load the "marth sound 0.dat" in the program and click Convert & Insert.

I've made all the .dats for announcer calls a while ago.

Don't forget your sound shouldn't be longer than the original.

Goku is over Falcon, isn't he? You need to get those on your own. Here is how you fill the fields in Sawndz.
