Post by: stickman on September 05, 2009, 12:46:50 PM

And I also need to get a microphone... I hate using notpad lol

I downloaded Blender, and the Collada plug-in. Nowwthisis most likely quite the stupid question, buut how do I get the stupid thing to work? Every time I go to Import>Collada 1.4 etc, it says that I need to download the full version of Python. I did do things to rectify my situation, but if you could just tell me what to do from there, that would be quite nice.

Also, this notification makes me NOT see the yellow COLLADA screen.

Quite fancy so far --- but the video takes forever to load for me so... I'll have to see the full thing later. Great work. ^_^

Yesz! It works! But for some strange reason, I can't apply any textures to the eyes. Their just white. When I try, the UV toolbar on the UV editor dissappears and I don't see any polygons on the UV editor.

Did you set up the pythonpath? If you don't know, then you probably didn't. Just google search "how to set up pythonpath for blender" and you will find a tutorial. Also once you do that, restart your computer, then it should work.

If you notice, I didn't do the eyes in the video. They are screwed up just like in 3Ds Max.
But it's no big deal because you can either move the UV's (rotate, resize, etc) to fit each eye, or you can leave them alone, because it is just an eye and you know how they will come out anyway. there shouldn't be TOO many surprises with an eye texture.

I was finally able to bring up the yellow screen with the PythonPath (gracias), but now it always says that the Import Fails and that it is a python script error. I am using your DAE that "actually work", yet they do not. They keep telling me to check the darn console! Please provide me assistance one more!  ;D

What is the error? Make sure that the import settings are the same as the settings at 0:29 of the first video

I used Pharrox's converter and I keep getting a python script error.
So do i have to get a seperate converter (read comment on youtube)?

yeah even for trophies his converter (the last released one) doesn't work right.
i have all the trophies up for download in the description (i used williams converter for those i think) but they all work from what i've tested (i havent gotten to all of them but they should all work)

Yeah thats what I mean but everytime I use
William's converter, an error always occur and there
was another converter that didn't work either so only pharrox's
work for me and I don't know why.

that's odd. I'll send you the one i use in a PM later on or tomorrow.
It doesnt do character models (correctly) but trophy models come out fine. do the models in the description link work?

They work perfectly fine but its just that I'm trying to extract other things
and none of the converters work properly but I'll just wait for the one you'll
send me and thanks for everything.

I'll just post it here. this converts mdl0 files, not raw pac or brres files. you need to get the mdl0 out of them with ssbbextract or something similar.
