Title: CSS Organizer (Phantom Wings does it again)
Post by: Katakiri on September 24, 2009, 02:01:07 PM

Well, I expected to release it a bit earlier but a certain code kept me held up until now. It's kinda' unfinished but I got sort of bored with it - so I may as well release it as is for now...

CSS Organizer ([url]http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=45cfda55d0eae9550de4fc1039a016742c1d170eff24b7b238538f5672f1b9df[/url])

Using it is pretty straight forward as most of it is just drag and drop. The directory to place the output file in is Menu2. If I ever get back to this I may add a feature that replicates the Custom CSS code using modified files and add that to the app. Be sure to read the readme as it has a code which is required if you intend on setting up certain formations in your CSS.

Also, as far as the Clone Engine or whatnot goes... Adding a new character ID to load a new set of named files is exactly what I've been working to achieve. As I said before, the possibilities look promising - there's just one slight thing with the module files that needs to be taken care of.

You should be able to recompress it with SmashBox. After that, put it in your SD card as:

X:\Private\Wii\App\RSBE\pf\menu2\sc_selcharacter.pac

(by "it" he means the pac file it gives out since it needs compressing before you can use it in Brawl or it will just freeze)

So yea, it's very easy to use. Just dragging & dropping really.

Here's a vid I made showing what you can do with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y99As0QKecE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y99As0QKecE)

For convenience. you should replace the text file in the data folder with this text:

Player 1
Player 2
Player 3
Player 4
Player 1 (Solo)
Player 2 (Solo)
Mario
Luigi
Diddy Kong
Zelda
Pit
Meta Knight
Falco
Pokemon Trainer
Ike
Snake
Peach
Donkey Kong
Yoshi
Ganondorf
Ice Climber
King Dedede
Wolf
Lucario
Ness
Sonic
Bowser
Wario
Link
Toon Link
Rob
Olimar
Captian Falcon
Jigglypuff
Lucas
Random
Icon 37
Icon 38
Icon 39
Samus
Icon 40
Icon 41
Icon 42
Icon 43
Icon 44
Icon 45
Icon 46
Icon 47
Icon 48
Icon 49
Kirby
Icon 50
Fox
Pikachu
Marth
Game and Watch

It will add names instead of icons##'s like this: (http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu268/BlazingKatakiri/th_CustonCSS.png) (http://s654.photobucket.com/albums/uu268/BlazingKatakiri/?action=view¤t=CustonCSS.png)

MUCH easier.

Bitchin'.

Just need that clone engine, now.

Edit: And Custom CSS compatibility.

You just need to open it in smashbox and save it to re-compress it, right?

If only there was somthing like this for CSP's. Just drag and drop the TGA files onto the portrates you want to replace, and POW, it makes the files for you to put on your SD card. that would be :af:

EDIT: also, what are all those extra icons for?

That's essentially SmashBox. Not drag and drop, but it has the feeling of choosing the portrait and just replacing it fast.

The extra icons are just leftovers. Brawl has 50 icon slots; 6 of which are completely blank. 4 out of the extra 10 are for the Alloys btw.

Guess Sakurai just decided to have a nice even number of icons.

Title: Re: CSS Organizer (Phantom Wings does it again)

is there any way to use the icons for, say, sheik, zss, and independent pokes?

ALSO: I am downloading smashbox at this very moment.  How do i use it to compress the .pac?

Phantom Wings needs to go outside once in a while.

I've tried all the extra files but they don't work at all. They just make black spaces.

PW did say that is isn't complete yet. He sorta got coaxed into releasing it early. lol The hacking ninja can't be stealthy all the time.

Ten extra icons?
zss + shiek +ivy + squirtle+charizard +4 alloys +giga bowser (all have icons using previous css codes) = 10.

Title: Re: CSS Organizer (Phantom Wings does it again)

So, there's no way to have replicate the Brawl+ CSS with this? And what's the CSS Fix code for?

I counted ZSS, Sheik, & PT's Crew in the 40. There 35 Icons in normal Brawl.  :>.>palm:

Edit: I forgot random counts as an icon. So 36.

However, it appears none of them show up in game.... Trying to figure out why.

EDIT: Oops, wasn't reading the past couple of posts. Disregard this.

If this is true, will you give us an update when Phantom releases the "Final" final version? That would be awesome.

So, I'm concluding that ZSS, PT, and friends' icons can't be used with this tool?

As of now, this is correct.

Also, the purpose of the CSS Fix code is directly stated in the readme. I suggest you look at it.

I did, but from what I understand, it states that if I want to have CSP's in the right place, I need it. I essentially understood that if I put things their supposed to go, or even use the four CSP-viewer things, then I'll need the code. I'm guessing it means that I'll always need it. Is that right? I don't think it is...

I'm basically not understanding what this means: "If at any time you wish to have either a character selection
portrait at the bottom of the screen or a player selection
window at the top of the screen, you will be required to have
 the following code activated."
What does it mean by "player selection window at the top of the screen"?

That player slot where the CSP shows, can change your name, etc. It means if you move it above (originally it's at the bottom).

Tried this out, and is a good alternative to common5.pac.  Just released a guide that tells you how to use custom portraits AND custom CSS.

Hey... how do I compress a pac in smash box? Thanks.

Theres an option in the root of the file. It should say:

Compressed: False

Set it to true. Save.

Thanks. I have another question though. I put the "sc_selcharacter.pac" (3.78 MB) in "X:\private\wii\APP\RSBE\pf\menu2". I loaded brawl through gecko os via gecko os 1.9.2. with a file replacement code that supports brstms. I also used this code
Code:
CSS Fix:
046A0C68 C2000000
0469DC18 40820030
0469DC40 2C030000
04689E88 60000000

But when I went to a character selection screen. The game froze. Any idea what I did wrong?

Try using File Replacement v2.1a (http://kittycorp.freecp.net/index.php?topic=5.msg3984#msg3984) for custom CSS.  You can also use custom portraits with your custom CSS, but there still is a limit to the number of portraits that you can use.

P.S.: CSS Fix is an optional code.

I don't do anything involving knowledge of command prompt.  I'll just use the Brawl+ CSS with my CSP's until somebody makes an epicly awesome CSS with this. Only then will I transfer my CSP's to it.

You can test it w/out leaving your computer, just un-compress it with smashbox, then it can be opened back up with the CSSO

I tried it, but some of the icons didn't show up. Do they just not exist, or do I need all those "Giga and Company" or "No Wreck My Music" codes to get them to show up? If they can show up, it's win.

Don't wait!  It is just too cool to wait and do it with that one!  Just make it as if they were there, but leave blank spots for the ones who are missing.  That's what i did!

You need to use ntcompress.exe to compress the 5,122 KB sc_selcharacter.pac file.  I know that people tend to avoid Command Prompt, but that's the only effective solution for compressing the sc_selcharacter.pac file, AND keep its .pac file extension.

You ALWAYS have to remove _en from the name.
But sure you don't have Brawl+'s menu on.

Also, Smashbox worked fine for me.

better?

Where's the PKMNs,Zamus,Sheik,Alloys(should be at the bottom)
I would love it like that ^-^

Right now you can't resize any of the boxes on the CSS with the CSS Organizer.  Until that's possible, you'll still need to use CSS codes to use the extra boxes.

k to clarify: im not using any extra boxes for characters (so no zss or pkmn or aloy boxes) do i still need to have the code on with all the other people added in? and also at the end of the code when yr puttin in all the people you want and such after youre done do u just put 0's to fill the space or 28's for empties?

my code calls for 35 people so i put 35 and i only put in the 35 characters that r normaly there...wait i think i forgot to put in random....so i need 36?

CSS codes are not needed when you use the CSS Organizer to create your custom CSS.  Of course, you may need the CSS Fix code if your CSS format is different from the default format.

With Command Prompt, input the command below:

ntcompress.exe -l -o sc_selcharacter.pac -A4 [name of uncompressed custom CSS file]

ok  :>.>palm: still not working

My files for any help
Uncompressed (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tyn1vjnjgim)

Compressed (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?dgg5gijczjz)

If anyone can tell me what i did wrong they will get a virtual cookie
So far I:
1) made my CSS with the organizer and saved it (5122 kb)
2) used "ntcompress.exe -l -o sc_selcharacter_en.pac -A4 sc_selcharacter.pac" in cmd
3) burned to brawl replacing menu2>sc_selcharacter_en.pac
4) used brawl plus code

^^^ you need to tak the "_en" out of the file name. Any reason you aren't using SD loader?

Can someone tell be what part of the B+ CSS code V3 changes the size of the character icons? For some reason mine are smaller than regular brawls and it slightly annoying. Thanks.

I don't use B+, but it's obvious that you forgot to remove the "_en" part of sc_selcharacter.pac, Chaotix000.

Anyway, try using the custom CSS without B+ to see if that makes a difference.

How is removing the _en gonna help. The file is supposed to go into menu2 right? I've got the ntsc version of brawl...and also for some reason the file replacement never puts in my csps...they're in the right spot and named correctly...its weird.

Which version of the File Replacement code are you using?  I know that v2.1a works, and many people have stated that v3.5.1 works too.

Anyway, I'm finding it strange that even with my guide, your custom CSS isn't working properly.  I wouldn't have posted my guide if I knew that it wouldn't work.

that's the only code I'm using from b+ as it is the only way I have got ZSS sheik and individual pt working.

okay, i got indy poke, zss, and shiek onto my css by using css code v3, shiek/zss css fix, and giga and company. it works, but there are some probs.

1. the icons are smaller
2. it sometimes freezes. maybe 25-40% of the time

no. what your looking for is the cloning code, and that isn't even out yet. Adding another CSS icon for mario would just make it have the same character twice.

Question, I'm using the program I save my roster. But as I close it and open it again it stays the same. Anyway I could fix it to make it my own? I am trying to have 37 rows.

You do realize this thread hasn’t been update in nearly a decade right not to be rude but I highly doubt you’ll find your answer in a 7 year old thread about a extremely outdated tool

Now with that being said if you want to make edites to your css look for the brawl expansion thread there’s a section about the css so you can learn about how to edit spinut’s css code or just use the css roster.dat for the same effect
