Title: How to use Code Manager, Gecko OS, and how to use Character hacks. (NTSC-U)
Post by: Kakalaa on January 25, 2012, 05:13:54 AM
Here's my tutorial for those who have a hard time on Brawl hacking (this tutorial is for NTSC-U wiis only).

FOR NON-RIIVOLUTION USERS: on the root of your sd card, there should be a “private” folder (no ” marks on ALL of the folders). If you dont have the “private” folder, make one on your sd root. Create a “wii” folder inside the private folder.

Next, make an “app” folder in the “wii” folder, then in the “app” folder, make a “rsbe” folder, (name it “rsbe” if you have a NTSC-U wii.

For the n00bs, NTSC-U is an American wii and NTSC-J is a Japanese wii) then make the following folders in the “rsbe” folder: “AL” “RP” “st” and the one you’ll need most: “pf” (the "AL", "RP", and "st" folders aren't mandatory, but it is recommended that you make them).

Now inside the pf folder, make the following folders (the “fighter folder youre about to make will hold all the character textures, but if you want to enjoy your hacks to the fullest, you should create all these folders) “fighter” “info” “info2″ “menu” “menu2″ “Module” “movie” “Sound” Stage” and “system”.

Okay, now in the “fighter” folder you're going to have to create all the needed character folders,
as these folders will contain the character textures for each character. Here's a list of the fighter folders:
Captain Falcon: captain
King Dedede: dedede
Diddy Kong: diddy
Donkey Kong: donkey
Falco: falco
Fox: fox
Mr. Game & Watch:gamewatch
Ganondorf: ganon

When you get a texture, you will be shown what to do through example. Lets say you got a new Mario texture in pcs. format, you are going to rename it to one of these: FitMario00, FitMario01, FitMario02, FitMario03, Fitmario04, or FitMario05 (these numbers after “FitMario” represent each costume of Mario). I'll list each character's costume number:

After that, shove your sd card into your wii and load the trusty Homebrew Channel. Go to the Cheat Manager app on the homebrew channel and load it.

Now select the RSBE01.txt and press the + button on the File Patch Code 3.5.1 then press the 1 button; it will convert the code into gct. format. Then press any button to continue, and press the home button on the wiimote-- you should be back at the homebrew menu. Finally, find GeckoOS in the homebrew channel and load it.

Once you have your SSBB disk in your wii, select “Launch game” in GeckoOS. It will look for the codes, hence the gct. file and the game will load. Select your character you got a texture for, choose the right costume, and start a match

(NOTE, if your using GeckoOS to play Brawl, it might freeze at the stage select menu. To fix this, go to the “random stage switch” icon in the brawl rules and turn everything off except the stage you want to play in, then before a match, as soon as you get in the stage select menu, press the random icon AS SOON AS POSSIBLE; you will start a match without the wii bricking)

HOW TO ADD CODES TO THE CHEAT MANAGER APP: First, create a folder named “txtcodes” on the root of the sd card and in that folder, create a notepad text named “RSBE01″ (again, the name of the text depends on the kind of wii you have. RSBE01 is for the american NTSC-U wii) and copy the file fatch code 3.5.1 and paste it in the RSBE01 text.

Happy hacking!

Okay, now I suggest you skip some lines and use paragraphs, because this is quite unreadable as it is. x_x

lol, srry^^" cuz I made that tut on SWF,and they really don't give you alot of options.Should I take it down? Cuz I don't wanna waste my time editing it and all...
It's really going to take you so much time to press "Enter" in a few specific spots ? oô

Give me the link to the tut on SWF, and I'll try to re-arrange it, if you really don't want to.

You mean a gct. file?

Copy the FPC and paste it in the RSBE01 txt.

Then go to Cheat Manager, click on the RSBE01 txt.
go to the FPC, and press the + button on the wiimote.

Press any button to continue, then press Home.

Lastly, run Gecko OS.

Remember, any code you want to put into Brawl must be a gct. file.

PM me if you have any problems.

Very helpful, though you're missing Mr. Game & Watch's list of textures

M.G&W is the same as everybody else's textures.

No one puts him up, cause he freezes easily. At least that's what
they say.

I copied the file patch, I go to the code on Cheat Manager and i press + then 1. it says:

Scan item item list. . .
0401BFE0 4858BE20. . .[OK]
Generate GCT File . . .
0401BFE0 4858BE20. . .[OK]
/codes/E0000000 80008000.gct generate OK! Press any key exit.

Then when i exit and load SSBB through gecko it says: No SD codes found
I start the game and its like nothing happened.
