Title: SOJ's Stages - Totally didn't release Skyloft ;)
Post by: SOJ on January 29, 2012, 09:45:33 PM
SOJ's Stages

Hey guys I've been planning on releasing a bunch of stages I've made edits to.  Feedback would be greatly appreciated.  I release my stages in collaboration with Vanguard so they will be posted through his account, but I will use this thread as a communication hub to show you what I'm working on and get ideas from you guys.

Released Stages

Neutral Warioware (Nutty Noon background) (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=24843)
(http://i.imgur.com/ReyCRs.png) (http://i.imgur.com/ReyCR.png) (http://i.imgur.com/q4Zk7s.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/q4Zk7.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/3BDBcs.png) (http://i.imgur.com/3BDBc.jpg)
The original WarioWare Inc. had a boring background, so I decided to shoot it off into space. Not only is the background new, but I adjusted the boundries to give players a little bit more leeway while recovering from the bottom. The stage originally goes over battlefield, but comes with a rel to go over WarioWare. Enjoy.  This is the original Neutral Warioware. (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=23518)

Saffrule Stage Pack (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=25073)
(http://i.imgur.com/VU7yQs.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/VU7yQ.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/66gi1s.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/66gi1.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/YFIaAs.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/YFIaA.jpg)(http://i2.ytimg.com/vi/r2Onbl1Kvxg/default.jpg) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2Onbl1Kvxg)
A combination of Saffron City and Hyrule Castle originally made by libertyernie. Works over anything Hyrule Castle worked over.

This stage has been redesigned for gameplay to 'flow' better.

* Three versions of Saffrule: Small, medium, and large
* The left side of Hyrule has been copied and pasted onto the right side, removing the tent from Hyrule on the small and medium versions
* Saffron's hovering platforms perform differently on each version to fit the flow of the stage
* Stage boundaries have been adjusted accordingly, in the spirit of competitive play.

Note: This stage is not currently part of Project:M. The video is only to showcase the stage.

Lost Woods (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=24946)
(http://i.imgur.com/c6ECfs.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/c6ECf.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/2KEENs.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/2KEEN.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/BfGa6s.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/BfGa6.jpg)
This is the modification of the original Lost Woods stage made by Akrio (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=15671).  Features include:
*Shy guys have been changed to fairies.
*Removed the body from the platform guys on the left and right so it's just a platform.
*Removed snow texture.
*Added in the skull kid (thanks to Beyond) with a minor animation.
*Added in fairy sprites (thanks to Link40 & BlackBoo)

Stage Previews

Skyloft
(http://i.imgur.com/dSFkAs.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/dSFkA.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/Ly6svs.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/Ly6sv.jpg)
With help from Nymph, I was able to rip Skyloft from Skyward Sword.  Besides lighting tweaks and transparent texture issues, it's almost done.  I'm going to release it first as Temple:M with a Skyloft background and then eventually make an original stage out of it.

I'm only putting those stages up right now, but I have a lot more in progress.  Stay tuned for more!

I'm looking forward to Skyloft! :D
Although it will be funny playing on it without Link (I have Zero) but Zelda can still be there!

Will Skyloft be flat, or will we be able to go on top of buildings and such? I don't mind a walk-off, as long as there are some landscapes or something.

Look closely at the first image of Skyloft. That's Temple:M there.

This is a very promising stage thread! I'm glad there's another person out there who isn't afraid to import stages from other games.  :D

Please post feedback on the Saffrule pack gang!

Each version was designed to provide multiple routes to easily traverse the stage. Obviously aware some characters have heavy advantage on this stage. Fox, C Falcon, and Pit for starters.

Which size is best? For Friendlies? For Competitive features? What can we change?

This stage is the way to go! :af: :af2: . But I think you can put the H platform of  saffron in the 3 versions. :kdance:

Hype?

It's gonna take a lot of work to get done and I don't even know if it will work in Brawl yet, but I'm glad I got it to work in Brawl Box.  Also I'd really like to finish Skyloft but I'm still stuck on the transparent texture issues D:

I'll gladly pass over any file to someone more capable if they want to help.

How goes the progress?

Nill.  I cannot fix the transparency issue and I've tried everything.  I've even contacted Mewtwo2000 and DSX8 and they weren't able to help so I guess my only option is to wait for the new Brawl Box and hopefully that will fix my issue.

Sorry, I was super vague when I wrote that previous post.  Posting on little sleep will do that to you I suppose.  Either way, were you referring to your Clocktown Stage?  Because I was referring to your Skyloft stage, it looked near completed.

what's next on the agenda?

So I'm understanding you right, you intend to release a Skyloft as a background for Temple: M? I was wondering if you had planned to retexture the temple portion to match with the rest of Skyloft.

that's all assuming you can get the transparency to work properly.

Well I first would like to get the transparency issues out of the way first and then I was thinking of making a whole new stage and releasing both.

I see. I support both of your ideas, so you know. Just curious as I thought Temple M would fit better as a part of Skyloft. Hearing you were going to do something like that got me a bit excited.

Good luck getting the transparency things fixed. You've got my support, even though I can't actually help that much
