Well, that's the end of this year's April Fools Day.

Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did while preparing it, then watching it unfold. :)
I just wish there hadn't been that little URL fumbling. :c

So, in case people didn't notice everything that happened yesterday (or just weren't around to see it), here are the little tweeks that people could notice:

1) The censor system was used to insert cat puns into every post. Persuade => Purrsuade, For => Fur, Tell => Tail, etc... (It also has the unintended effect of inserting catpuns into URLs and IMG tags, which broke a number of pictures...)
2) New cat icons for ranks.
3) That little catgirl stalking you at the bottom of every page.
4) A default avatar was set for the day. If someone had their avatar field empty and logged in today, they got this picture (http://i41.tinypic.com/2z8t9au.jpg). Which is a somewhat close renderition of the default avatar that we had on the (old!) Proboards forums.

So, why make it a topic just for that? Just for showing off and possibly get feedback? Does your ego know any limits, Miacis?
Probably not, but other than that...

Maybe it's just me, but I think I saw a lot of people asking the cat icons to stay. So might as well hear your input on that, guys. I honestly don't really care all that much, but I'd like to hear opinions before doing anything.
Which ones do you like or dislike, would you rather have the stars or not, or different color schemes ...?

It's more than just a binary question, so feel free to give any input about it. Or feedback about the whole day, I guess. That works too.

(Also, that kitty at the bottom is probably going to stay for one more day. I told her to leave, but she said it's a nice place here.)

I think every website should have Nepeta at the bottom.
Actually, maybe with user-scripts that might be possible?

I don't care about everything else, but the little catgirl at the bottom of the page has to stay. :srs:

Stars should stay, makes sense for a kitty based forum xD

Well, I kinda prefer the stars over the cats, but it's not like any of that really matter.  They're just little pictures after all.  Might as well keep them seeing as they make sense.

I say the cats instead of stars are fine and make sense in a site like this.
Although some of them don't look that good... and I think it would be convenient to have the admin, global mod and team member cats be more differentiable from each other.


About the other things during the day...
The default avatar was ok I guess, only noticed it when an user changed his avatar.
The cat puns censor was amusing for a few posts, but grew stale pretty fast. Not to mention that it was annoying getting broken links and images.
Nepeta at the bottom was just meh imo.

Also, I just did some Google searches to find those. I'm pretty sure there are better icons out there, I just took the first ones I found that fitted the size.

Wouldn't be better for Team Members to have the black cat from the blog as stars, instead of hello kitty? ._.

The 3 for admin, global mod, and team member.
Simply because from a distance you can't even tell the difference, the 3 of them just look like a white cat from afar.

The black cat for local mods has a different style from all the others, looks like a low quality picture and the cat silhouette would make more sense for team members.


I'm personally not fond of the "green star" cat, but it works fine. It's clear and differentiates clearly from the others.

I agree with this, just for the sake of anyone noticing who is who without trouble.

Oh... I just noticed that because of how the word censor works, any posts made and/or edited during the day kept the cat puns even after the censor was removed.

I just had to edit a huge post to fix all those stupid puns and broken links/images.

Actually, only posts that were edited on that day kept the catpuns. It was definitely not the right day to update your hacking thread OP...
Sorry, I completely forgot to put up a notice to discourage editing big posts. The fact is we didn't know much about the censor system's inner workings until a few days ago ... >_>;

I had to edit out the catpuns on what is probably the longest post on the boards, too...
So you can just send me a link to any big broken post and I'll fix it. If it bothers you so much to do it yourself, I can take care of it. You guys shouldn't be responsible for fixing the after-effects of that event.
Shouldn't take me too long with OpenOffice's "Replace" tool, anyways.

Happened to a lot of threads actually.  Screwed up a number of my "maroon" posts for example.

People could've notified us here, as I fixed a few OPs that I was told about myself.
