Title: Cinematic Final Smashes - Pokemon Trainer

    So there has been a few people that have requested the Cinematic Final Smash for all characters after seeing what I did for Marth. Well guess what, I am! I finished working on one for Link (requested by Kienamaru), and I released it as well. I'm working on the other characters now, and I'll post them as they are completed. Feel free to post ideas for I could use them for some characters.

    Could you just upload the files to import into the pacs and motion files so they're compatible with mods like Brawl- and PM and other movesets?

    If you look at the Youtube Comments, more people have asked for Ike. And so I will do him 1st. If more people request Peach then I'll do her after, but Lucario and Wario are also in the lineup.

    Well if you want to port them to other Movesets, you'll have to do it manually with BrawlBox and maybe Smash Attacks.

    i think i will do something like this for gotenks´s super ghost kamikaze attack(FS version)
    so the camera is in front of gotenks like as link´s here

    It happens in Game.

    I know how to import/export stuff inside a fighter.pac with BB but I don't know where all the files I need to switch around are (sorry I'm new to hacking), that's why I was asking for them

    The only thing I could give you would be the animations. But as for the Events, you need to do it manually.

    I test the Marth one and it's awesome, but the trouble is that the opponents have more chances to evade the final smash... There is a way to fix this?

    You could go into PSA and alter the Time Manipulation Event. The 1st Parameter alters how much time slows down, and the 2nd one alters how long time will slow down for. I did my best to make sure the Final Smash works the same way.

    I think I'll hold that till I'm done with every character. But if it takes too long, you can learn how to do it. Anyone good with Animating and PSA can easily do this.

    The Camera Closeup Event (1A040500) is what is used.
    1st Parameter Changes the Zoom Time.
    2nd Parameter is currently Undefined. (I thought it changes which bone it zooms onto which would be nice so I wouldn't have to scale the TransN Bone)
    3rd and 4th Parameters change the camera Rotation up and down/left and right Respectively.

    I'm doing Ike 1st. And who I'll do after will be based on what people say. Currently in the list now is Wario, Peach, Snake, Sonic, and Lucario.

    I used Camera Zoom In Event in PSA for the camera shots. Can't open a final.pac file in PSA Can you?

    I've posted what I've thought about each Camera Zoom effect in both Marth and Link's videos.

    But, I guess there's no harm in writing them here:

    Marth:
    I actually really liked how that turned out.
    And I like with others, it makes it less "meh" whenever you use it. But you should've kept the original starting animation but with the camera change. Maybe also make the focus from his blade-down. If you understand what I'm trying to get.

    Wow, I like how you did this one. It looks alot better.
    Maybe you should try including a screen or background tint while the Final Smash is happening. Like an orangy-gold tint for Link, a Sky Blue for Marth, etc. I think it would make them be more visually appealing.
    However, I still think you should apply the camera effects to the original starting animations. Just my opinion.

    Just for future notice.

    Oh yeah, I really like what you're doing with these. Keep it up.

     Okay, i've got an idea for Ike.

    this is how it should be.

    When you press it.

    it should be him doing his "i fight for my friends" taunt." zoomed in from the back but angled down. then it activates.

    Now as he's flying to his opponent the camera should be following him. when they are in the air, try to make the camera circle around him, like literally circling him. before the final attack is going to commence, zoom in on his face and make him go "HMPH like in his down smash" then as a to finish it, make then make the camera follow as the character is being dragged down to their doom.

    Yes, that waiting list is getting rather large... lol.  And it'd be nice to have others help out. I don't have ideas for every character, nor the time to do them all. (Although it does not take too long to make one... lol)

    Did you ever consider that most of use don't know how PSA works, nor have enough interest to learn it?

    But that doesn't change the fact that:

    1) These don't take very long
    2) It only requires using one event with fairly self explanatory parameters

    It doesn't take advanced PSA knowledge at all.  Any beginner at PSA could do this with a little bit of experimentation and a sense of artistic license.  It's not like he's completely remaking the Final Smashes.  It's something simple yet effective and nice.  I could even do a tutorial on the Camera Closeup event used if people really want.

    I don't give two [censored]s if you wanna learn how to PSA or not. But bombarding the man with requests is the fastest way to get someone to stop taking requests. In less then 2 days this thread went from 1 to 4 pages of almost purely requests.

    Instead of being so adamant about not caring how to learn how to PSA open your mind a bit instead of reducing yourself to a nooblet who has to beg for anything cool.

    SDoom is correct. Kuro isn't the lazy one. Its easy to change how the camera moves in-game and it doesn't require hard core knowledge of PSA to do it.

    You took a harmless suggestion to better yourself and turned around into an insult. Good job noob.

    Most likely.  Are there any codesets in particular you're using as well?

    here what i have on these days:
    one hit kills - subspace
    file patch code(of course)
    no huds
    no tags.......

    EDIT: i am the stupid. i had forgotten i happened across a 'no closeups' code a LONG time ago and forgot that it may still be on. it looks like it technically is camera hack related.

    ill message back later when i get the chance to let yall know if it was the problem.
    (i dont remember having the code on BEFORE getting these hacks, but it most likely the case)

    Yes I did have to have sequential Camera closeups for the rotation. About 4 or 5 of them. And I'll add Pokemon Trainer to the List. Although that could be a hassle seeing I'd have to animate each of his Pokemon... The Camera work shouldn't be too much though.

    Actually, these animations have been ported from their victory taunts. If you look at the PSAs I've worked on, my animations are like... idk but it's not in a professional level.

    I agree with the Marth change. Applying a birds-eye view would give it a nice touch.

    And with Link, poses are good. But like Velen said, the behind shot seems out of place. Maybe also include the Triforce pose. (Before the actual grab) Have the beginning part zoomed in, then once the grab happens, zoom out with the shots.

    For Marth's, I made it out of boredom, so I didn't really do much to it. The Idea came from this TAS video by someone on youtube called versat13. But I wouldn't mind giving Marth a little something extra. I was actually thinking of giving him a behind diagonal view of the characters flying away.

    As for Link, I couldn't really think of what shots to take. I just took some off the back of my head. Although some people managed to like it, so I'll leave it as is for now. Suggestions would be nice.

    I can make multiple hitboxes on the hit, but I don't want to do that because I want to make sure the Final Smash still work the same like normal. The only problem would be that the other players won't see where they are... lol

    Ohhhhh.... That makes sense.
    But that can be fixed easily enough. I can fix it, if you want.
    Then again, even doing this in the first place would involve changing the animations and that might be something you don't want to do. If that's the case, don't worry about it. Animation is very difficult to learn (which is the main reason I can't animate). Why should anyone expect you to animate if your talent is something else?
    So if you're not used to animating, or you don't want to do all that work, don't worry about it. Marth's cinematic FS looks awesome enough already. :)

    I can Have an over the top view. But my concern is if the camera follows the rotation or not. If not, I could just zoom it out.

    I think it should start as a close up when he starts, then the camera looks up at Lucario when he's rising. The camera is still looking up at Lucario while he's charging his beam. Then it switches to a zoomed out birds-eye view of Lucario firing his beam.

    Or have the camera behind Lucario when he's firing his beam. But still at the birds-eye view.

    I could actually do something like that, however, he dashes so fast, it's not even maybe half a second. So I don't think it's worth having to do it.

    Actually no. He dashes to his opponent if the Enemy is out of reach.

    Yeah, the bird's eye view would be kinda hard to dodge. But for me, maybe that's a good thing. Lucario's final smash is so easy to escape, it's ridiculous. My sister and I play against each other, and neither of us ever gets hit with it anymore. You just need to time your jumps right and stay out of it's range long enough...
    So I'll vote for the bird's eye view. Just my opinion.

    Um... I had a similar idea, but it's probably easier. Sonic already has a pose where he's holding a Chaos Emerald, and it's the Chaos Emeralds he uses to go into his super form, so...

    I still think that a bird eye view behind Lucario would look better... Then you can still get the "umph" of the attack and still see everyone who's playing. (While still difficult to maneuver, but still better.)

    That's really the only thing annoying me...

    I made an earlier post here explaining what the parameters are.

    The Camera Closeup Event (1A040500) is what is used.
    1st Parameter Changes the Zoom Time.
    2nd Parameter is currently Undefined. (I thought it changes which bone it zooms onto which would be nice so I wouldn't have to scale the TransN Bone)
    3rd and 4th Parameters change the camera Rotation up and down/left and right Respectively.

    As long as he uses already used animations, he should be able to do it. Seems like most of the work he does is just in PSA manipulating subactions, cameras, and time speed.

    I think your OP has a request for ideas for Sonic's Final Smash, so here's one that's been mentioned before:
    How about making Sonic do his victory animation with the Chaos Emerald before going super? Since he always uses the Chaos Emeralds before he turns into Super Sonic.

    shadow uses rings to turn super i think, while sonic uses the emeralds

    yes!!! That would look so awesome to see for Sonic!! :DDD and you don't even need a starting voice like you do with the others, just have that happen the once he's done absorbing the emeralds he could use the same voice that he uses when he normally does his final.

    I just have a question. Would models found in a FitResult.pac be able to show up in game? If it can't then we can scratch out the idea for him using a chaos emerald. I also looked around in PSA and found a model changer in the Other section of the SubAction. Answer these questions then I'll be able to decide what to do. Either that or I'll find out myself... But not now though. I need my sleep...

I read a post somewhere about adding external graphic effects via hexing, and it sounded simple enough. That way all you have to do is attach it to a bone on his hand (maybe LhaveN or RhaveN) in PSA and there you go.

    Do as you please... never really messed with External GFX. Nor did I know you can add new ones... Also the 7 Emeralds are 1 model unless you take the one from his Result.pac

    I've used Riivolution before, and I remembered that some characters don't have support for FitMotionEtc.pac files when used. I remember Zelda being one of those characters. Probably the same case for Shiek too.

    Is this also why I can't place any Sheik or ZSS PSAs into folders without getting it to freeze when I select them?

    Also, where is the common.pac file, and is that the exact name?

    Edit: Found the common.pac and modded the file. Not sure if it answers about my Sheik and ZSS PSAs yet though.

    Edit 2: Nevermind... Still doesn't work properly, and has the same problem as before. Guess I'll probably just have to leave out Zelda/Sheik + Samus/ZSS in the zoomins.

    Nope, it's in it's proper location

    Rename your common files and add "_en" after the name and before the .pac
    So they'd be "common_en.pac" and "common3_en.pac"

    Also they don't work properly while facing left. The camera focuses as if it were facing right. There's not much that can be done about it though. Other than making an if statement for facing either left or right each with it's own code.

    So yeah.

    Hey, I'm back, and I have an update. My insertion of a new model file for Sonic's GFX was semi-successful; Brawl recognizes that I have a new GFX model, but it doesn't have it in the same place as I thought it would be. So I'll be experimenting a bit more and testing to see if it 'rearranged' the External GFX and if it has any discernable effect on Sonic's moves (I tried it in-game and didn't see anything unusual yet). Hopefully I'll have it done before the week is out, but you know what it's like when you're learning something totally new...
    Good thing that learning this stuff is fun! :)

    So I have this idea about the camera zoomed in in front, then zooms out as the Lazer is fired. Again, people wouldn't be able to see where they are going so I'll probably make 2 versions with the other being a normal camera view right when the lazer is fired.

    EDIT: I tried the use of If Statements and it was a success!!! I'll update the older files after I'm done with Samus. I need a new idea for her cause her laser is just a flat oval thing... I was hoping that the screen would white out with the laser but that plan failed. Maybe I could use the screen tint but I've failed using that before... Anyone wanna help me with getting a white color?

    Set Red, Blue and Green to 0. Or high (and equal) numbers like 255; it depends on if they're additive or subtractive.

    In Hexadecimal 255 is FF (They were all values which are usually in Hexadecimal). I tried it, but it turns to something similar to yellow. But using 255 actually did make it white. Just need to make sure it can White out the whole screen (Or close to it). There are a few Unidentified Values I'm messing with.

    @ 4:28 *Cough*Excuse the commentary, you may want to lower your volume...

    So yes it's definitely possible.  Just have high and equal amounts of red, green and blue.  If you want the screen to be pure white, have a ton of alpha as well.

    While I was working on this, I found that Samus' laser was nothing but 2 flat ovals that only cover half the screen if the camera was directly in the middle of it... But then again if it was DIRECTLY in the middle, you probably wouldn't even see the laser... lol

    Toon Link's FS is the same as Link's. With knockback(?) and graphical differences.

    So if you were to make a cinematic version for it, it'd have to be different than Link's.

    So my idea failed. I had an idea where I use PAT0 animations on Ganon's hand so I can make a Triforce appear on his hand as he does his Win 1 Animation. Appearantly PAT0 Animations don't work on Ganon, so I decided to scrap that idea. I like what I made though so I'll post it as is as soon as I fix up a few bugs.

    Okay, I have a confession to make, and that is that I didn't know what I was getting into. :srs:
    The good news is, I added a new GFX model to Sonic's .pac. The game recognizes it and doesn't freeze, and there are no glitches with his other effects.
    What's the bad news, then? The Chaos Emerald doesn't show up. I'd like to say that this is because the original files (in both the result.pac and the final.pac) don't have textures- they use some kind of alternate coloration, and as a result, the model doesn't have textures either and shows up as being invisible. However, I can't be sure this is the case because I can't add new textures to the emerald's surface to know whether it's there or not. I'm only used to working with PSA, so while I know this might be relatively simple to a model hacker, it's all new to me.
    In any case, I'll be learning how to do model alterations and vertexes since I also need them for some future PSAs I have planned, but I don't have any experience right now and it may take me a long time to learn. I'd be able to continue if someone were to volunteer to color one of the emeralds, but without that help, it could be weeks or months before I know enough to do this myself. Model hacking seems very complex to me.
    So, I apologize for promising something I couldn't deliver within the timeframe. There were complications I didn't expect and can't deal with until I learn more about modeling. For the record, I did add the external graphic effect... it's just invisible.  :P
    So, please make a different version of Sonic's FS until I eventually learn enough that I can give the emerald a texture. Apologies again.

    he needs to have all his models edited(like as SMBZ mario) to change texture
    but a flash colour to be like as SMB3(for the nes) fire mario where mario is only orange is possible

    Try this for Mario Have him do a back flip into his win animation where he spins his arm, while spinning his arm have fire engulf him with the fiery final smash eyes. Now before the actual attack make Mario do the animations for a Kamehameha and have a fire graphic charge (during the charge have him say "Oh Yeah*, (Camera zoom from back) then unleash his final smash and have the camera effects like your Samus final smash when she shoots her beam. (while have him say *HE-YEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!)

    Yeah, about that. you see, the reason it didn't show up, is because the graohic effect is wrong; it's 16, not 17 lol. After that, I figured out the MDL0 is all screwed up. and I haven't had the time of day to fix it.

    Yup, I tried it, and the emerald showed up, but the materials were messed up. And I've called a graphic that doesn't exist, and simply nothing happened. A bone that doesn't exist is another story though.

    So I have been working on things not related to Cinematic Final Smashes... Yes I have no progress on Mario yet... been working on a PSA of sorts. Not to mention that school is just around the corner. Going back on Tuesday. I just want to say that I recently got into adding External GFX... Although I'm not sure how to fix it with a model that does not have any textures...

    yeah, there it is.

    @A Bloody Canadian- I assume you want it to follow sonic's hand. so I'm going try to get that to happen unless you want to animate it to follow whatever motion sonic is doing. (and no one tell me it's the "Anchored" parameter, because it does the same thing, checked or not.) Also, the other 6 emeralds are in the same MDL0, they're just scaled zero.

    like when she does her ballerina kicks zoom in on the movement. and other things, and when she does her kiss zoom on in on. if you could slow down the animation via PSA that could work too. like pause at the kiss and make her say "peachy" then it ends =3

    ...And would also take longer. Animating has always been difficult for me, although with Tormod's advice it got considerably easier... anyway, most of them look fine without custom animations.

    Just to make something clear, it isn't an instead of situation, as the fit[Character]Final.pac is for final smash - locked graphics and articles. nothing more. he has no choice but to put it in the moveset file.

    now, on another note, I found out why Sonic's emerald doesn't follow him, but I'm sure you've figured this stuff out already :)

    Well, my current thought on it is that it is because it has been touched by brawlbox, since when sora was redone all through PSA, and I simply replaced the eff.pac with the very same one in the brawlbox edited moveset, the external GFX magically started following him correctly, so I assume that sonic will obey the same rules.

    I know I'm late, but I'm sorta wishing that Ganon's cinematic FS had Beast Ganon charge straight into the camera, which would then move to the side just in time to avoid clipping and watch him run down his opponent.

    That said, Sonic's cinematic FS is awesome.

    My vote goes to Meta Knight.

    I know I'm late, but I'm sorta wishing that Ganon's cinematic FS had Beast Ganon charge straight into the camera, which would then move to the side just in time to avoid clipping and watch him run down his opponent.

    That said, Sonic's cinematic FS is awesome.

    My vote goes to Meta Knight.

    If you do Bowser.  I think the camera should pan to a frog's eye view, then switch to above his head while spiraling into the air before panning back to the normal view.

    EDIT: To expand on the previous idea:

    It pans to a frog's eye view of Bowser as he laughs with his arms crossed. Then the transformation begins and it pulls away as he grows, before he finally appears as Giga Bowser and roars out before going back to the normal view.

    Hehehe... Funny thing about that. I discovered the line of coding for that line awhile back on accident, that Dark Samus PSA when used while fighting Meta Knight used that quote for one move... I looked in PSA, and found the value.

    00000361 I used this in my Blood Red Slash Effects in the vault. As an alternate victory quote he can randomly say.

    Rotating and paning seem to be the go to things... why not try something like this:

    5 zoom cameras at different angles.

    They would zoom in really close to different parts of his body as he went through the transformation until he went into the white light.

    Then zoom out as he emerges into Giga Bowser.

    Try putting the FitKoopa and FitGKoopa in a common3, 4, or 5 file, can't remember which.  Blaze over Bowser uses that method.

    Edit: It uses the common4.pac file.

    Good news everyone!

    I finally finished Bowser's Cinematic Final Smash!

    I'm working on the Making of... video, and would you guys rather have it sped up? Or left the speed unchanged? I can't guarantee that you'll be able to see everything I'm doing if I sped it up, and only the 1st clip takes about 11 minutes. The rest I can say can range from 30 seconds - 5 Minutes, and there are a total of 24 clips in total.

    Have Kirby don the hat, look around first, then start the FS, like he does when using Cook in his own games. Then while "cooking" have the camera focus close up on Kirby stirring and seasoning the stuff. Then zoom out a little to present the stuff that comes out.

    That Snake one was pretty nice, since you could actually see him get to the chopper.


    ...Also, at the end of the vid, I heard Snake say, "Nom! Nom! Tasty..." when he grabbed Sonic. So I replayed the video, thinking you were using Brawl Minus, and realized it was me voicing Snake out of habit. I play a lot of Brawl Minus...but I guess that's the perfect place to put all of your cinematic FSes.

    Brawl Minus is a project that balances the game like Plus and bBrawl do, only instead of nerfing some characters and powering up others, it breaks every character so that they are all OP. There's also a lot of flair to their moves (Ganon's forward smash makes a huge explosion, for example), and sound effects are added to a bunch as well (Snake says "Nom!" during his pummel and "Tasty!" during his down-throw). It's a very aesthetic mod, which is why your cinematic Final Smashes would go well with it.

    I kinda also meant that last part as in, "Me playing so much Brawl Minus is why I constantly add voices during character's attacks when watching gameplay of Smash Bros."

    Fun fact: When I was working for Nintendo, I would play Melee in the break room at every break at lunch, and every time I landed a Knee with Falcon, I would shout "YES!" because he does that in Minus. Shows how much impact that mod has had on me.


    Putting the Cinematic Final Smashes in Brawl Minus doesn't sound like a bad idea... lol...

    ok, so, i have an idea. he does the taunt where he goes into different poses (down taunt i think) and has different camera views. then the last one he holds it and the camera zooms in, then he does the down-b spin animation, and goes into teh final smash.

    Just, instead of saying this, he would say "victory, is my destiny.", and after the attack, he dissapear like his victory taunt with the camera angle and the star KO'd and he reappears...

    Because there's already a HUGE paragraph of what Meta Knight could do that would be really cool, written by me and agreed upon by DarkFire, which you never fully responded to. Apparently you TL;DR'd and just skimmed through it or something, based on your response.

    Speaking of Falcon, however, the only thing his FS is missing is a gratuitous portrait shot. So maybe have the camera zoom in on his face through the [censored]pit glass as he starts down the track?

    Don't worry, I read the entire post. I approve of the cape over the camera part, but I think it's best to leave the startup as is. And for sure, no Star KO Camera. May add a bit extra to the end though.

    Now that I think about it, I have an idea for the ending. He'd go into a pose similar to that of the end of how Marth does his Dash Attack. Now because of this, Meta Knight would move slightly forward, but I know for a fact that CFSs tend to desync anyway.


    After working on it for a while, I'm having Camera related problems... No matter what I do, it does not go back to normal camera...

    all of there gfx and stuff is is the Fitpokemontrainer.pac. its in artical 1 i think but the animation for them going to the final smash is in there own motion but the animation they do during the final smash is in the pokemontrainers motion.

    If it's not too hardcoded, then copy the contents of the FS of the FitCFSCharacter.pac of your choice (maybe the hardcoding too, though...), paste it in the PSA you want it to go, and also, copy the animations, since they almost all received some tweaks...

    Oh geez. I don't check here often anymore due to lack of motivation... lol.

    None of the CFSs are HardCoded. You should be able to copy and paste it's contents just fine. Don't forget to export and replace the Animations too for they have been altered as well.
