Title: How to edit vertex points in Blender Post by: SharpHackz200 on August 13, 2012, 12:00:15 AM I know somebody made this tutorial already but this is for the people who still don't understand how to edit vertex points with New Blender
What you need: Any version of Blender (I am using a new one) DasDonkey vertexbox -Don't download any DasDonkey vertex box. you have to use Ms. Spinda's Vertex Box http://www.mediafire.com/?8536rjlmk9ewqpq (http://www.mediafire.com/?8536rjlmk9ewqpq) Brawlbox Video Tutorial How to edit vertex points with new blender (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Sqsbv4oIlc#ws) Written Tutorial 1:Open up BrawlBox Go look for the polygon you want to edit I am editing polygon 9 of Peach 2:Expand the polygon folder under your character's model. Look at the vertexset number of the polygon you wanna edit Peach's Hair is 8 3:Expand the Vertices folder and look for a file that have an id that have the number of the polygon vertexset 4:After you have found the vertices that have the id number of the polygon you look at the polygon folder. Export it 5:Export the model of the character, too name it model.mdl0 6:Now Open up DasDonkey Vertex Box and Click "Create 3ds File" 7:Open up blender(any version) 8:You could delete the lamp, cube, and camera if it's bothering from editing (http://i.imgur.com/RDKKU.png) 9:Go to File>Import>3d Studio(.3ds) 10:Look for the 3ds file that DasDonkey Vertes Box Created 11:Right Click on any dot. You can see that they all turn yellow 12:Go to Object Mode(http://i.imgur.com/Xz2bG.png) and there's a list. (You have to do step 11 in order for the list to come up) 13:Pick Edit mode and all dots will turn fat 14:Right click on any dots you want to move (Yes it is normal that all of the other dots will be black except for the one you right click) Or you could just select them by group Hold Ctrl and then Hold left click. And as you move the mouse you will see a Lasso coming out from the pointer of the mouse. It looks like this (http://i.imgur.com/4n9Id.png) You highlight vertex points with Lasso select in order to move them in group 15:After you are done editing the vertex points export as a wavefront(.obj) Export it in your DasDonkey folder 16:Close Blender and open up Anim8tor from DasDonkey Folder 17:Drag the .obj file (NOT the .mtl file) into anim8tor 18:Export it over the 3ds File that DasDonkey made 19:Open up DasDonkey Vertex Box and Click insert 3ds on MDL0 20: It will ask you for the MDL0 Offset Go to brawlbox look for the vertices that you edited. on the right side of BrawlBox after you click the vertices you edited it has some stuff. Look for MDL0 offset and in right side you see a number (http://i.imgur.com/Qw1Ni.png) Red=The word MDL0 offset Blue=The number on the right side of "MDL0 offset" 21:Highlight the Number(Peach's Hair MDL0 offset is 221856) that is circled blue on the picture and Sometimes If you highlight the number the word "MDL0 offset" goes with it and sometimes it doesn't Now press Ctrl+c 22:Now remember DasDonkey ask for the mdl0 offset. Click the blank space where the number goes. And Click Ctrl+v 23:Click ok and it will make two files These two files are called ModelOriginal.mdl0-In case you mess up Model.mdl0-The one you edited in Blender 24:Right Click on the model of you character you're editing in Brawlbox and replace it with "model.mdl0" in you DasDonkey Folder 25:Preview it and you will see changes of the polygon you edited. Here is what Peach's Ponytail Looks Like When i made the it longer in Blender (http://i.imgur.com/UFcmP.png) I am glad I could help the people who want to use Blender instead of 3ds max :) Title: Re: How to edit vertex points in Blender Post by: Ryanboy50 on August 13, 2012, 01:10:15 AM Thanks so much for this tutorial :)

Do you have java runtime environment in your computer if it doesn't install it here http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp (http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp) If it still didn't work try this. Here are some ways to stop that. Restart your computer Re-download the vertex box Turn your computer off for 30 min. then turn it on again :) Title: Re: How to edit vertex points in Blender Post by: rickyrussian15 on August 21, 2012, 07:15:16 PM thank you for the tut

;) Post Merge: August 22, 2012, 07:10:46 PM Oh by the way there are some errors when editing these polygons Samus' face Dedede's coat Sheik's arms Peach's crown Link's Hat It's the same errors like in Ms. Spinda's / Lecapria's Anim8tor vertexing tutorial To edit this polygond that gives error you need fragmosoft.. credit goes to GameWatching http://www.fragmosoft.com/downloads/ (http://www.fragmosoft.com/downloads/) Put your DDV.3ds file first in Fragmosoft and export is as an OBJ Import the that OBJ in blender and you can edit it there.. and this polygons i told you that gives error can be edited when the DDV.3ds goes through Fragmosoft but you still need to exprt it as an OBJ so Anim8tor can read it and export it over your DDV.3ds.
