current beta game play (low quality, sorry no capture card)

Dash works now for the most part, ) and a lot of animation is still needed but as it turns out all I needed to do was get off my plot and start working on it,  I've been able to work out a lot of the glitches and there shouldn't be any freezing, I talk about some of the glitches in the video but there has been a lot of progress since the last release.
feel free to let us know of glitches  or just give basic feedback here

WE NEED A MODELER  most of the issues right now are with Dash's model and lack of external gfx.    

Known issues:
throws stick to topN bone
catch/break away releases really early
holds stuff/freezes weird
fs moves her forward on certain stages


The specials: now with a fancy rainbow trail (now a better trail from charatchan)

up B
sucks opponent toward center of the tornado and works as a recovery

rushes forward and triggers flurry attacks if the rush connects

Dash bucks a storm cloud with tazer effect

NB- spins around to push opponent away and is also a reflector

flies around dealing damage on contact and ending with a large hitbox (smart bomb explosion is a place holder for rainboom/nuke)

If you would like to help with this, we have a skype group going right now for better communication but we can work with using kcmm, pm me if you are interested.  As of right now we plan on doing at least the mane six if not more so just because we are getting close to being done, there will still be plenty more in the future

Also please don't let the pony thing scare you away none of us are THAT brony, so knowing ponies helps but isn't required.

k, i tried the psa and alot of problems lol, B up dont work and IDK wat B and B sideways does lol... Make her B sideways like Fox and falcos and leave a trail of rainbow. Make B like metaknights :p
FS can be her going in air, and flying down causing a sonic rainboom k?
A: Back kick, so she turns backwards, puts her front feet on ground and kicks backwards
AA: repeats A 2 times
AAA repeats A 3 times
B up: like lucarios but leaves rainbow effect
just some ideas :D

We know the specials are broken, I made this post to find someone who can fix things, i guess i should at least say what they are supposed to do as we have ideas for everything but the NB

Well, im no fan of this series but i know she is supposed to be fast.... She doesnt look to fast in that video so to start make her faster but weaker :D, and for the beta, id reccomend using metaknights B attack for her. Also she needs some quick attacks like falcos and fox's B sideways. Give her that but like i said before, leave a rainbow trail :D

i'm looking to learn how to hack  and figure the best way is on the job.
i figure that since this hack is almost done  and you need all the help you can get , this is the perfect place to start{plus i love rainbow dash}  i will take on anything you give me to do as long as you remeber i am new to modding

All help is welcome,  I have no problem working with beginners especially since I'm not particularly experienced myself,  as far as hardware you just need a wii and a copy of brawl (I think you can use the emulator dolphin but I don't know how to set it up)  anything else can be found on this site.   I'll send you both a pm with the skype group that the project is using right now since I prefer that over forum convos and because we can share stuff in real time.

does the model explodes and gets stretchs all over the screen when being throwed? caused it's easy to fix that

Yes, once someone grabs her she is splattered all over the screen XD

How exactly would you fix that I found snoopy's guide and did what it said but that didnt work,   I found something else that involved changing her bone tree and that broke the psa...I'm currently reworking it but if someone can get me a quicker fix  that would be amazing.

go to Rainbow Dash's PSA in Brawlbox, go down to her "Thrown" subaction (the subaction there she gets thrown, not throwing the opponent) and remove "FixedTransation" and "FixedScale" flag on all thrown subaction.

Including all DK thrown, Snakethrown, Ganonspecials Thrown, Captain Falcons UP B Throw, Bowsers SideB thrown, Warios B, Kirbys/Dedede B and Yoshis B thrown. that should fix the Thrown for EVERY throw in the game

I'm quite curious as to what her FS will be, I really am :O
Am thinking something like the assist trophy Kat & Ana, where she will fly across the screen multiple times, hitting people with her rainbow trail left behind until the FS ends. Now that would fit her well wouldn't it?
Or, is her FS already planned?  I love Final Smashes XD

We don't have exact details but the plan has generally been the sonic rainboom since it's her signature move but I know we will need a model for it

very nice,  the main reason I haven't done a derpy yet is because I don't know how to do the eye thing.  I figured I would keep what I had and either someone would eventually do one or I would figure it out.

I loaded Rainbow's sword trail in photoshop and rotated it 90 degrees clockwise and then put it back on her.

In game this makes an actual rainbow sword trail that is much more accurate.  I don't mean to criticize;  I'm just trying to help.

Also I think you should maybe generate a constant sword trail coming from her tail during her run animations.  That way when she is running / flying she will always have a rainbow following her.

I'm not really too good at this stuff.  I know I've made a few things but honestly it was all a bunch of trial and error and took a lot of time.  I'll suggest more in the future if I can.

This sounds like a good idea.
Could possibly also be used to enhance a lot of her animations as well as perhaps aid in the creation of her FS

Thanks for the input honestly I thought about trying that but once the current one worked I stuck with it (I've never used a sword trail before so I know nothing about texturing them).  I plan on adding more trails to her but ATM I'm busy with school so progress is slow so anyone who wants to try to help is welcome to but I will change the texture now that I know it works.  Also trial and error is the best way to learn with this stuff :)

   I guess i can do that,  Im busy with class this week but I'll try to  get a couple more things done and put up a new download this weekend. 

 right now I am doing misc. animation because I'm being lazy about the FS but I do know what I'm doing for it.    Really the only thing I can do atm is animation and psa  but we need external gfx models and I would like to get her element of loyalty necklace on the model and make it visable when she gets the smash ball.
     
 also her grabs all stick to the topN bone and she holds stuff funny so that needs to be fixed (basically I need someone who can do model sutff cuz I am teh nobbzor at it)

I think the smartest thing would be to make her playable as is first, then start refining on her beyond the v1.0.
Making sure she is freeze free, and that her moves do damage and no pixlation explosion, that the FS does damage, even if it hasn't got any model at the moment, and then update her from there.
The FS eyes for the necklace sounds like a good idea, but I think that it should probably be one of the last things you would need to worry about.

Exited about a new download :D

as is she is playable with no glitches but the release will have a working final smash  that will be something like this with a giga bowser style:

Sweet, the FS is pretty cool I must admit. She seems to be more fluent in her attacks now but the neutral B does nothing as far as I can see.  It has hitboxes and they seem to push the enemy slightly away, but that's it. No damage or anything.
The rather large flash she does every time you move is rather annoying so that should probably be either removed completely or at least toned down significantly.
Besides those things, I'm really enjoying the update :D

The obnoxious flash is because of the sword trail and I am trying to get rid of it and the NB is supposed to have a rainbow tornado (mach tornado model)  but I am having trouble getting it to work

Here is an idea! : The kick she does where she kicks a cloud and lightning strikes..there is no cloud. Maybe you could use the cloud from Pikachus lightning? That would be fitting I think.
For her NB, how about she flies backwards, like one step and then does a somersault forward, of course a flying one, damaging anyone nearby?

You know, you could maybe use the mach tornado as her ground FS and her sonic rainboom as her air FS. Would fit nicely I think.

Yeah I'm not a fan myself, but I cannot say that this isn't a really nice breath of fresh air into brawl. And lets face it, MLP has a big fanbase and the character is well enough known that even if I have never seen an episode of the show I know who she is. She belongs in brawl X3

Well thanks for the support (sorry it took so long for reply), I think eight is enough textures for this release for now but feel free to release them to the vault on your own if you want.  your note says you are looking into modeling, that would be great because that is the bulk of the issues right now but also if you want to help on the animating part I need a lot of help there too (no experience required)  I'm turbobear63 on skype

So far it looks great and I can't wait until it's finished.
Are you still planning to do the other ponies? I think a sort of "Super Smash Bronies" would be totally radical!
I imagine she has similar stats to Pit? Relying more on speed and agility than strength?
Finally, I would like to help in some way in the future, however my knowledge of brawl modding is rather limited :/ If you need anything photoshopped though, or if you're planning to mod sound effects such as what she says when selected or the announcer saying her name, or if you need someone to shoot ideas with, I'd be happy help.
Oh, one more thing, the video links don't seem to be showing up for me, now, I'm new to using this forum, so it could be an error on my side...

It's kinda still a thing, I haven't done a whole lot of work on it due to motivation and time issues.  The main thing is that I REALLY don't want to do the couple hundred misc animations on my own and there are a ton of model issues due to a crappy rig by the people who made it, if someone who knew or could learn model stuff would join that would probably make the difference between this living and dying unless I have time to do it.

as for experience the key word in that last sentence is LEARN so you don't have to know much, just be willing to try.   if you are interested PLEASE do not plan on taking a week to do half an animation and then never respond to me again.   this has happened ........ several times :(
also the video should be fixed, I had a stupid April fools thing up anyways

If this is still going, i would like to report a seroius bug. Rainbow can not spawn from the "blue mist" used in gamemodes such as SSE, All-Star mode, Multi-Man Brawl, and Boss battles. Using her in any of the following modes will cause the game to freeze.

I know absolutely nothing of modeling. I've attempted some stuff before but I'm lucky if it ends up being N64 quality. :/ So sorry, I don't think I could help with that.
I might be able to land a hand with Animation but I'm already working on some other (non-brawl related) projects, so I can't say how reliable I'd be.
If you're looking for more man power, why not post this to a Brony forum and ask there? Yes, you'll get a lot of inexperienced people, but it's people none the less and if there's one thing I know about Bronies, it's that they'll learn pretty much anything to make quality pony stuff.

i never watched MLP and i dont really like it (based on the fan base), but if you absolutely cant get anyone to help animate by the end of june, i can help

I know absolutely nothing of modeling. I've attempted some stuff before but I'm lucky if it ends up being N64 quality. :/ So sorry, I don't think I could help with that.
I might be able to land a hand with Animation but I'm already working on some other (non-brawl related) projects, so I can't say how reliable I'd be.

  any help will be good due to my lack of time.  this has actually been on both EQD and EQG  a couple of times but hasn't really helped as far as getting anyone

I understand, I know how a lot of the fanbase can get. Don't worry I'm not one of THOSE guys and we aren't all like that.   animation would be very helpful and someone like you who knows their way around hacking would be awesome so thanks for the offer.
