I like how the 1st recolor of Lucina reminds me of Lightning from FFXIII ;D

I can say with confidence that that update is 101.73% better then the original, I love how much better the face and overall shading looks.

Yup, we made a completely new hair model. And I redid most all of the textures from scratch.

*cough cough* If I remember correctly I ever so kindly gave the base of that hair (from a .mmd  model hair ) to Alba .w. But I must say the edits look nice :3

That hair model is FANTASTIC.

The highlights in the texture are a tad bright tho. There are certain parts (such as the sleeves) that are originally black, which you've colored grey. I'm all for adjusting the brightness so it fits with the game; but nothing black should look grey.

I think the textures are fitting for brawl. I always lighten up my black textures to get some visual detail, and it never fails that by the time I'm looking at it on the TV, it looks darker.

On another note, I'm interested to see what you guys do with Tetra.

To be honest, I think the older texture looks better, except for the Alondite. I also think I prefer the original hair model over the new one, but maybe that's becase I got used to it.
Now that I think about it, do you want to use the updated Ragnell/Alondite model I'm using for Ike? This one:

Thanks! We have a few more (very sharp) upgrades we plan on giving her.

Me too. Shes just been sitting there since I ripped the model about a year ago.

You like that old muddy mess of contrast? And I'd rather stick with the original Alondite model because I'm lazy and don't want to redo the textures. But I only speak for one of us.

It uses brawl Ike's default textures, you won't have to redo the textures again.

I've just finished everything in Ike's model, so I'll send you the finished model ASAP so you can start rigging him, and give Mia the Ragnell (Alondite) I fixed.

Made one more recolor for Lucina. Now we're just one recolor short of having enough for cBliss. Also decided to make the mask for each recolor unique.

(http://i.imgur.com/UuQJz0p.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/UuQJz0p.jpg)

If anyone has an idea for the final recolor, I'd love to hear it. I was looking for something unique, preferably something a different hair color.

Those are some awesome mask designs. Great job with 'em.

As for ideas, how about some orchid hair with a color scheme revolving around orchid, pink, and brown/black?

Easy. Make one that resembles Erika from Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones.

Cool reference and different colored hair to boot.

Thanks! Yeah, I tried to give every recolor something unique. Since that one was based off of Fir, we gave her a shorter jacket.

Also added a couple more previews to my last post.

Remastered Mia looks great. My only complaint is that she's still using Ike's sword (I guess Black Knight's with the coloring) but that's a minor issue. Model looks perfect and so does the texture. Awesome work guys.

And a PSA of a horseman would be too awesome.

Lol. As much as I'd love to make that PSA, the animation work that'd have to be done for it would be enormous, so no, that's not what we are doing. :P

Yep. So it would mean making a custom boneset and all the animations to go with it! If I were decent at animating, I'd have made this my hacking goal (And would have added Jill/Tanith/Elincia and even Haar along)! But I suck at it. :[

Title: Re: The Albafika/SJS Projects - Mia Trueblade Released 11/21

Lol If I had the material to try I'd give it a shot. I don't have the most experience animating seeing as I only started in 2012 but i'm pretty confident where i'm at. But animating an entire character would definitely be new to me.

Than what's with the pegasus in the picture of the model? ...Er, I assume it's because the MDL0 straight from Fire Emblem itself, haha.

Remastered Mia looks great. My only complaint is that she's still using Ike's sword (I guess Black Knight's with the coloring) but that's a minor issue. Model looks perfect and so does the texture. Awesome work guys.
Alondite (Black Knight's sword) is technically Mia's ultimate weapon, since it's the strongest thing she is ever capable of wielding in either Tellius game. That, I can only assume, is the reason why he gave Mia Alondite.

I'm pretty sure there was an alternate Mia with a standard sword instead. Maybe not for this updated texture, but you get what I mean.

Yep. I was joking there. :P

And I've got every RD character model ripped, in case anybody wants any model from the game?

Exactly. That and Vague Katti are the best swords Mia can wield for endgame (Brave Sword is also decent, for the X8, but most opponents there are too strong to even be damaged by this one sword 8D).

On a related note, people have requested somewhere else that I give her a weapon fit to the hitboxes (Marth's size), and so I will. I'll give her Wo Dao, and... Maybe a resized Alondite? I'm also considering Killing Edge

Tyrfing wouldn't really fit Mia (that's an Awakening Sword)

And.. Do you mean Wyrmslayer?

I do love its in-game look, however, the Sword's usage stops there, at Dragons... Not really useful other than for that. =/

I see, its been days since I played RD and I used Zihark. (Ignore the fact that he could use it too.) But I definately like the idea of her using the Vague Katti, seems the most fitting for a fast sword user.

I'm personally a fan of the Shamshir for Myrmidon classes, but alas, that was only Sacred Stones, I think...
But yeah, I vote for throwing the Killing Edge in there. (:

By the by. Love the work done on Mia. That is a fantastic job well done.

Nice.

And as awesome as a shamshir is, I was half joking, as it wouldn't actually work well with Marth's moveset and his sword trail since its defining feature is the insane curve of the blade (one does not use it to stab). But that's why it fits a Myrmidon class so well.

I would argue that the Killing Edge best defines Mia's class.

...But I would also argue that the Tellius arc Killing Edge DESIGN certainly wouldn't. :|

Waaaaaaait wait wait wait wait.

I completely forgot about the Vague Katti and Wo Dao. The Katti blade is easily the most fitting sword for Mia, EASILY. Anything Katana-esque visually represents the Myrmidon class flawlessly.

Love this hack, but the Brave Sword is a reeeeeally bad choice compared to the Katti.
Can't even scratch opponents at end game and the blade is far too thick to accurately represent the Swordmaster, who's strengths are speed and agility.

I agree the Vague Katti has a very simple design, but I would contend that the Brave Sword has a rather tacky design... There's beauty in simplicity, you know.

Every time I select her it freezes on the stage select after I select the stage. Can anyone help me see what it is I'm doing wrong? Love the model and the way she looks just cant play as her, which is very unfortunate.

I know I played with her on PM while Brawling Gravity before. There are several things you can do to troubleshoot:

1. Only put Mia on 00, and use Marth's 01 costume in-game. See if it freezes.
2. Only put Mia on 00, and use Marth's 00 costume in-game. See if it freezes.

It may be a single costumes that's damaged. Either that, or you are using the CSPs and it went over the max size?

Dayum, the decal on the blade/hilt is crazy. ...But I like the blue handle on the former texture better. The way the colors shift looks more eye catching, methinks.

Not like it matters in the speed of combat though, lol.

How do you post pictures on these threads I've never done it before. If I knew how I would show you the Mia model and changes I made to her that I'm trying to use. I made texture edits to her outfit based off of the Altina and Athena Recolors you made, I changed her clothes to white, gold, and a little bit of black with dark purple hair and her original green eyes.

I tried the trouble shooting but it still froze on me. I even tried to scale down the size of the textures but still no luck, even though the PAC and PCS files are both 648kb's. The silly thing is, I got the older model to work just fine with texture rescaling. I just tried to redo that here but can't get it to work. :-\

Do you use cBliss? Because if you do, you have to re-open your file in BB, save as a pair file, then play. You CANNOT have the same filesize for both pac and pcs.

EDIT : By the way Albafika, can I make a mini-PSA for Mia? It's not really something great, it's just for fixing the hitbox issues with the model... Y'know... The sword is longer than the hitbox, and the sword glow doesn't really fit the size of her sword... I'll send it to you when I'm done. If you want to release it by yourself...

EDIT: I have the normal sized textures as well with the PAC being 1,494kb's and the PCS at 688kb's. It still doesn't work with those either.

Might as well just spill the beans: KJP and I have been planning on making a Swordmaster PSA, based on Lyndis and RD/POR's Myrmidon/Swordmaster/Trueblade animations. I just need to find the video reference (Or a new video referene) with the RD animations. I had some Youtube video and took the time on it for every animation we'd need, but the video got deleted. I then made a thread asking for help retrieving/reenacting it here (http://serenesforest.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=40143), with no luck. I just noticed someone posted they could help there, so hopefully the offer's still up!

Anyways:

This sword looks way less fancy, but it fits Marth's hitboxes. I'm now adding the Wo Dao as well, for whoever wants that instead.

I have a thing about double posts, so I merged the posts. Cry me a river.

Well hi there Lucy. Been a long time since I've seen you.

Top notch as always, guys.
Just a few things to fix (Normals included).

Oh [censored].

EDIT: Fixed. Every Final Smash eye was displaying this way. I already updated the Submission with the fix. Sorry about that, guys. Too many things to keep an eye on. @_@

Edit: [censored], no post merge. Well whatever. New preview:

Wow she looks amazing, well done guys!! Also thanks for the fix I was wondering if it was something I had done or not, much appreciation to you.

PS: I think I found out why Mia wasn't working for me. I was using a mix between the PM v2.6b Marth and tel1204's Thunder Marth. When I added it in to the moveset file everyone but her worked. So it's gonna be trial and error to find out what it is that needs to be removed from it to get her to work again. Tel did say it was balanced for brawl minus so that might be the case.

Sorry didn't know that was something you didn't like, noted.

That's odd. I mean, he'd have to have edited the bones for Mia's model not to work.

It is weird I know but that's what happened. There are a lot of GFX edits he put into his PSA but really I'm only speculating. Right now I'm in the middle of testing with it for what I need to leave out to get it to work, this is gonna take a while. Oh and I almost forgot, I just got your re-upload so I'll put up the recolor soon.

Mia looks fantastic! I really like how her hair came out, looks great. And also nice work on Lucina, the texture update looks really good. I'd like to redo her hair and some other parts of the model in the future, though.

I love the way they got Lucina to look I can't wait to play as her.

Edit: I finally figured out why Mia wasn't working in game for me! It was the damn FitMarthMotionEtc Flie! She worked perfectly fine without it. Now I just need to weed down what chr0, vis0, or srt0 files I had made that makes her freeze the game, and there are quite a few, but I at least know where to look now! ;D

Huge improvement on Lucina! Fine work man.

Also, this talk of a Swordmaster PSA has caught my eye; I'm a half-decent animator but a really thorough ideas man. If you guys need any help I might be able to generate some material for ya. Especially in terms of planning a moveset that accurately portrays the Swordmaster style.

For example, I assume you guys are changing the side B to Astra? It only makes sense.

Astra sounds to the best fit. I would love to help with that if I can. I'm just above novice when it comes to animating though.

Edit:Hey Albafika, do you know what the maximum FitMarthMotionEtc.pac file size limit for your Mia model is? I've gotten it to 3,374kb's without freezing, but if it's over 3,800kb's it freezes.

Well, I knew that between the FitMarth.pac and the FitMarthMotionEtc.pac there was a total maximum one can't go over. But I guess that it also involves Marth's costumes.

Anyways, some previews:

She looks good, but I can see how that robe would be a [censored] to rig. Also I scaled down the Motion file to 3,696kb's, still no luck, but continuing my endeavors to get her to work for anyone else that has a larger FitMotion file like mine. The FitMarth.pac is practically the same size as the original so that's definitely not the problem.

Edit: I found the magic number, FINALLY...I've been working on this the last 2 days straight! 3,522kb's seems to work just fine, HORRAY!!! Now I can finally enjoy playing her! JESUS that took awhile!

Just working on some things (https://www.dropbox.com/s/v3hdcid7wiqjr2l/Screenshot%202013-12-03%2009.56.14.png) and was wondering... do you guys like recolors that change a character's hair/eye color (like Mia's recolors)? Or would you prefer the hair/eye color to stay the same? I made a poll out of it, so vote, comment, or both. Or don't, I'm not your mother. Never said anything about being your father though...

Personally, I don't like recolors that change too many things at once. If you look at some of the recolor projects going on, some of them change way too many things, and the texture loses its overall cohesiveness. Or something.

Though the image you showed looks fine to me. Maybe I just don't know enough about the character to notice any negative things. Heheh.

This MotionEtc you were decreasing the size of... Was it from vBrawl or PM?

It was P:M v2.6b that I was altering. @Gravity I think it's okay if it's supposed to be another character from their game though. Some of the recolors Mia got were based off of other characters from the series so in that respect it looks good.

Hmm, care to try re-downloading Mia and see if it works now, with no adjustments to the Motion?

Recolors with different colored hair are always interesting to me. As much as possible, I usually try to avoid hair color changes since that's part of the character to me, like skin. On the other hand not changing the hair will seriously mess up some color schemes, particularly when aiming for specific references to stuff. Like how Lucas' recolors tend to keep his hair blonde-ish, except for the Claus reference.

I voted I like 'em anyway.

Did you update the model again? Do you want me to test it in P:M, or vBrawl? To be honest I don't know how to get codes into vBrawl on the wii, without using Riivolution or Homebrew. I have Brawl+/-, Balanced Brawl, and Project Melee. Is there a way to do it without hard hacking it?

Yes, I did. I fixed the metal box materials, along other things... Pretty sure no more updates are needed, it was all a major slip up of my part.

To use hacks on vBrawl, simply use this. (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33498917/SDSetup.rar) But I want you to try it on that PM version you had problems on.

Okay cool, I'll get on that tomorrow if I have time, and thanks for the vBrawl stuff, that was the only thing I didn't know how to get. Heh, it seems that I have become a model tester here. I'm somewhat doing the same with an Ike model I got sent a couple of weeks ago.

Interesting concept. I usually don't consider FSmashes, since my play style is more competitive. But it makes alot of sense because there are two games to take Astra from.

I was kinda picturing it being like that one Roy FS that had a combo of 5 hits ending with an uppercut. I think that was one of Thany's animations, not entirely sure though. Oh and I got some different animations over that Vanguard Ike model to work. You just can't have to big of a FitIkeMotinEtc.pac file for him to run properly.

Edit: Albafika I tested the first 6 models of your update and they worked fine did you want me test all of them, and/or with a modded PSA?

Yeah they worked just fine with the standard P:M 2.6b FitMarthMotionEtc.pac, and with my new modded one too. All 3 versions worked so I updated my recolors with them. Why, are they not working for you, or did you just want an extra tester?

Yeah, because having a Pan, a Racquet or a Golf Club goes with Rosalina, who has never been in neither of those sport games but Mario Kart. Not saying I wouldn't add a normal version. I will do it if more people request it.

Currently, we're using Snoopy's rig for most of the model (Face, dress and hands to be specific) and we went with it for the Christmas release. However, you can expect a rig fix coming soon, which will require some added vertices in the shoulders and on the dress on some areas as well for a better rig.

EDIT: I can see that I could fix this you're mentioning in less than 10 minutes, I'll let you know when I apply this small hotfix, although I'd rather fix the whole thing altogether once I'm out of Christmas.

Take your time.  It never hurts to double check how the vertices will handle the bone movements for all angles.

Am I late to say that I really loved what you guys did for Rosalina in Christmas?
It's still Christmas, so not late yet. Glad to know it! :D

Anyways, there's another mod coming out soon™ (Fire Emblem related), after it, we'll be making some more Fire Emblem stuff... And some Xenoblade Chronicles stuff, too!

I don't mean to bother you again, but the Rosalina import does have another incident that I'm not liking, but this time, it's with the head and neck bones.  Whenever the head or neck are rotated, their appearance can look rather disturbing...

I know that you've worked hard enough with the import, but I just think that the head and neck area should be fixed up, whenever possible.

*Sigh* I should've just gone and re-rig the whole model from zero instead of counting on some rig from the Vault. lol

I'll apply these fixes and others later on.

Maybe try mixing in voice clips from other sources that her voice actresses have done?

Her English one is Laura Bailey and her Japanese one is Yu Kobayashi.

Here's a list of characters they've voiced if you want some examples to research into.

Laura: http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Laura-Bailey/ (http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Laura-Bailey/)

Yu: http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Yu-Kobayashi/ (http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Yu-Kobayashi/)

Granted they both also have a lengthy list of anime you'll have to scroll through before you get to the games, but still.

Edit: Or...

Aye. And for further ease of use, there's a Sawndz file uploaded to the vault. Laura Bailey clips that is. Not so much Yu Kobayashi yet. I'll need to do some searching to make a Sawnd for that, heh.
Finally was able to create a non-glitched up file, so no more worrying about the tedious process of replacing every single SFX with one WAV at a time, hahaha.

(Also, that PSA doesn't seem to want to work with the new model. I'm going to see if I can do something about that...)

I could definitely try that. Some of the motions probably didn't help either though.
I changed some of those and it worked fine.
I probably need to refine the animations that didn't work if I'm to update that PSA at some point, heh.

But since I have Ike with his Japanese voice since it just feels right for Fire Emblem characters to be randomly speaking Japanese when everyone else is speaking English, I'm gonna vote for Japanese Lucina. ¦D

I think a Japanese voice for her would be best suited for her. I love how well Laura Bailey did with her voice over work for her, but it would be most fitting considering everyone else speaks Japanese(except for Ike, but that's easily fixable) in the Fire Emblem series.

The hardest part will be finding a voice clip long enough to be used for the star KO.

Nevermind, I found one. Hardest part will be figuring out what Lucina's Japanese quotes are.

Last thing you need is for Lucina to do a "Come at me" pose and say "I'm sorry, I failed". Tragic, that's what that'd be.

If I ever get around to it, I might make an English Lucina Voice pack. So, I'll be voting for Japanese.

I could definitely try that. Some of the motions probably didn't help either though.
I changed some of those and it worked fine.
I probably need to refine the animations that didn't work if I'm to update that PSA at some point, heh.
So the problem is file size?

Yeah, I think that seems to be the case.
I'll just work around keeping it smaller. No biggie, haha.

I  saw Lucina and downloaded it, no longer have I seen Marth face in brawl in any other place other than the intro movie. Whats left is his voice.

I love it, and I love you all for doing this... no homo.

Hrmm. Is anybody skilled with sounds? Lucina's sound files have an incredibly high bit rate, and if I reduce it to fit Marth's bit rate with Audacity (Because the bit rate affects the file size, and it needs to be low to work in-game), the voice is barely heard in-game.

Here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/kpuuiacw1ptq3oz/Audio.rar) are the voice files.

The bitrate is too high (1411kbps), so it'd freeze in game. What I need is someone to reduce the bitrate to, at most, 352kbps and still sound nicely and loud enough.

And from that precise link you can find this:
Um, The super sawnds mod won't let me create a .sawnd or a .bnk file. Help?

I was there before and I tried to make sfx, but I cannot since I'm missing a program or a converter of some sorts, the super sawnds doesn't have it.

IIRC, the Super Sawndz link he provided won't work. He modified it to create BNK files. Use the latest official version of Super Sawndz.

There's also something... strange about Lucina, too. Can't put my finger on it tho.
Aside from that, that Rosalina is literally perfect. Awesome job!

That's the nature of sprite work; the tiniest details are often the most crucial. Something as seemingly insignificant as three pixels can make or break a sprite.

Eyes, and hair. Hair is easily one of the most frustrating things to sprite, easily.
Which is why that Rosalina is so impressive. The hair is literally flawless.

I see, the quality difference compared to the old BrawlBox method is huge. Very nicely done, and I hope to see more of those style renders in the future!

That Samus is so beautiful.
My Wii may be broken, but I have downloaded it regardless.

I used some of Rina-chan (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?action=profile;u=11571)'s voices. Decided to release it since some people requested it.

Speaking of Mia, how's that moveset reference video coming along? It's been a while since either of us have brought it up.

We still want to release her voice. :P

I think crazyhandmasterhand is working on the English voices for the Lucina V2 PSA. You might want to look forward to that when it's released on the Vault.  :)

Haha, I would actually prefer having access to all her voice files from Awakening, so more power to them getting released. I kind of just used mostly clips from her voice actor from other games and edited them anyway.

The voice files we linked above are also from other games.

Is there any chance of the Justin Bailey ZSS being updated with the armcannon from PM3.5's Justin Bailey alt?

Don't think SJS'd plan to Frankenstein his ZSS. In any case, shouldn't be too hard for someone to do it.
