I'm actually kinda surprised that it took someone so long to do Agent 47 so awesome to see him done!

Thanks man! I was looking around for 47 myself, and I stumbled upon his model. I'm happy with how it came out. I'm actually going to put up another preview of a hack I'm doing soon, so stay tuned.

 I'm rigging (well have rigged) Wonder Woman over ZSS. I'm pretty much done. Just fixing up some frame rate issues. I have two other hacks that I'm working on, and Liu Kang is almost done too. He's probably going to be released soon, so stay tuned.

Hey guys just an overall update:
Hacks to be released REALLY soon. Like tomorrow:

I finished the extra thing for Liu Kang, and I'll put a preview of Baraka up now. Already have in-game pics and everything so this is pretty much done.

While Baraka is one of my least favorite MK characters, it's nice to see some MK characters regardless.

Would love to see a decent Shao khan on Ganon at some point

The cull-what?

Cull-mode; such as "Cull-none, Cull-All, Cull-Inside, Cull-Outside"

I used to have that problem with my Batman's cape but setting to Cull-None makes it visible from all angles now. It's found in the main material files.

I still have to fix up some lag on WonderWoman and that teaser character (it's still a surprise).
Also, I made a custom model in 3dsmax that I just have to release at this point. The textures on that second one are also made by me. The model didn't come with any, and boy was it a pain to make them and make them show up in game.

So I have a ton of hacks finished. Just have to release them. I think 7 or 8. [/color

Pretty nice, although for characters from Mortal Kombat VS DC I'd suggest editing the textures to make them brighter. Their shaders are already pretty dark in Brawl as it is.

UPDDATES AGAIN:
So a preview is up... it's Faith from Mirror's Edge. Pretty easy rig, came out well, filesize is good, and tested. Just have to do metal textures so release soon. (maybe tomorrow)

Lego Man is finished... just have to release him. (probably tomorrow)

WonderWoman's lag has been fixed, just have to release her too. (probably tomorrow)

Mr. Satan is a different story; I finished the rig and metal stuff, and tried a one slot size mod to make him .75 the size of Cap'n. It's alright, but I don't really like how it came out, so maybe an addition to the recycle bin. If anyone wants a pic in-game, just let me know. T-Posing him was a pain, so if added in the recycle bin, feel free to grab him and finish/clean up if you want.

I'm in the process of fixing up some lag in the teaser character, but otherwise all good.

I know I shouldn't have, but I started up yet another hack...  (Stupid me is stupid)   

So I started Grim from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Over Ganon. I didn't rig legs, to make it look like he's sort of floating. I'll put up a preview. He's pretty much done too.

Grim over Ganon? huh, I'd expect him to be over Marth ya know with the swiftness and sharp Scythe. dark, all-powerful King of Evil also fits the Bill in terms of powers and title too.

I was thinking marth as well, because of the scythe, but I never considered Grim to be that swift. His cartoonish run matched Ganon's upper body (while running) (in my opinion), and I thought the effects would add to it.

To answer your question, I got the model from the game Cartoon Network Universe: FusionFall. I did edit the model a tad to give him the jaw that he had in the show, as opposed to the lack of that was in the game.

Oh and I forgot to say that I finished cooking my custom model and I'm pretty high off of how it came out. Dropping hints guys

So I edited the OP a bit. Fang was the teaser character. It was a surprise because, for those of you that knew me as pranavmeno and before I took a hiatus, I was working on Fang for a while as a model texture. Now I imported her over Marth, and I'm fixing a bit of lag. Maybe some more optimizing.

The custom model was Heisenberg from Breaking Bad, the tv show. He's over Snake, and I made him from scratch in 3dsMax, including the textures, in photoshop. He'll probably be released today.

Thanks a lot Tabuu! Getting feedback on my hacks is really great, and I'm happy you enjoy using Genie!

The Fang model from FF13 didn't come with her weapon, so I had to improvise and add a trident to her model to be rigged over Marth's sword.

I try to import based on moveset more than anything.

Oh, I wouldn't go that far about your texture abilities. At least it looks like Ginyu. ;)

No, trust me, my texturing sucked. I had no idea what I was doing for most of it, and now I'm happy to say I know a bit more about photoshop. But thanks anyway xD

I think I got the hang of it around the time I made Genesis.

It was a pretty easy rig to be honest. It took about 25 minutes including the back and forth between BrawlBox and fixing the textures a bit. Just have to test him in-game and take pics, and then release him, but only after my other hacks are released because that needs to happen... soon xD

Yeah, one minor complaint, though. That model needs to be smoothed/have edited normals. It's really blocky. D: But other than that, I want to see it in action. ;D

Thought I'd do an update on Grim:

He just needs to be tested out again and some pictures, but the rig is done and he has metals as well. Might include a version with the scythe, but it would have to be visible in every animation. I'm trying to get his scythe to appear in place of Ganon's sword, but I'll see how that goes.

And no, the T-Pose is normal. It's just pausing right after Beast Ganon disappears, with perfect timing.

I also have another hack that I started that is VERY unorthodox in terms of rigging. I just have to fix up some glitches.

A question: Does anyone know how to fix a glitch where the model becomes huge when blocking? Most of the model is, if I recall correctly, rigged to the ThrownN bone because it should not move with the rest of the model. Only the arms are rigged, and for that I had to flip the characters bones and rotate them.

That's usually because a part of the model sits on ThrowN. Check your rig again.

I usually go for the HipN. I do have a question to ask. I've never been able to fix the problem with my imports where their arms are raised, the shoulder dislocates. Here's what I mean.

I would use HipN, but this rig is VERY different, and I had to completely rotate the bone structure upside down to make it work as I wanted. I have to edit the model a tad and change the rig to TransN.

@ShadowLuigi-NG-
That could just be the ratio of weights between the shoulder bone and the bust bone. Personally, I don't really rig much to the ShoulderN bones, just ShoulderJ and Bust. I guess you have to just keep trying and experimenting until you get the results you want.

Coming back to BrawlHacks after leaving for a bit, I can see the difference between imports and vertexes. In my opinion, vertexes were more creative, but not always accurate (unless you were Beyond, or the like). Model imports look clean, but it's more trial and error and a bit more systematic. It's pretty much the same for every rig. That's why I try to do unorthodox rigs. It's a bit more fun because it tests my knowledge of the program a bit more, and that's also why I tried making a custom model.

I don't know about you but I find model importing fun in general. It gives you such a nice feeling when something you created and rigged yourself works in Brawl even though it could use a little more touch-ups. Nothing beats the feeling I get when I see my successful import beating up Wario in Brawl.

Model importing is fun, but it does get repetitvie. Making custom models and importing them is the most satisfying in my opinion. Yes, they don't look as professional or clean, but you made it from scratch and that's a very fun process.

I started trying to do more complex rigs like this one:

This was tough... Right now it's rigged to the TransN bone, so the body doessn't move at all, and the arms are rigged accordingly. If I rig the mody to the ThrownN bone, it rotates correctly for different moves, but becomes huge when blocking.

The problem with that was that it would move with the model so the wait animation would cause the pillar on top to be at an angle whereas I want it to just hang down.

You may have the next big thing for model imports. All of these model imports are a bit like recolors of characters. I'm more of a fan of importing characters and improvising with weapons. Perfect example, my Petey the Piranha. I may take on a challenge like you. I do find it becoming a bit boring for imports of certain things.

Thanks, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by "recolors". I usually just import based on moveset and general attributes, like Sheik's speed. Body type helps, and sometimes I get both, like Wonder Woman over ZSS. They have similar body types (hands down the easiest rig I've ever done) and ZSS's gun acts a bit like Wonder Woman's whip.

Oh I think I get it now. And for improvising with weapons, I know Fang is over Marth and movesets match and stuff, but the model of Fang that I got did not come with her spear, so I had to improvise and add a trident model to her model. Came out ok I think.

I have no complaints about your models. I like how you match them by abilities too. I don't like how some would do their mods. Like Master Chief was over CF. I sort of regret Batman over CF, but he's one of my popular mods. I like Grim overall despite  his anime look. I'd prefer if there was a model with his original style. Can I make recolors? I'll collab if you'd allow me to?

Question, ?uestion. lol. How do I import a model that won't stop crashing BB when I try? It's rigged semi-properly, I included all the bones in skin modifiers, etc. And I get "index out of bounds."

When selecting the options for importing the model, make sure all of the options that say "Float" are selected. They should be the three on the top left. This should fix it.

That's a valid point. Make sure every polygon of your new model has every bone under the "skin" modifier, and make sure you only have the bones, and none of the polygons.

So after you finished rigging, you cut the skin modifier from your import, and ran the "detachbyid" maxscript. Then you pasted the skin modifier back on all of the meshes, and exported it as a .dae. Right?

Mope, it was already detached somewhat. I didn't use detach by ID at all, I just renamed the parts.

Actually, using detachbyID throws an error in the script.

Well that's probably why you had the problem with different polys breaking apart. That's weird... If you want, I could take a look at it for you.

@BLuigi: yes and no. The majority of him is negative, but I changed the inside of the cloak to be blue and the shaft to stay brown. The entire model is in one texture file.

That would actually be pretty cool, but that's up to ShadowLuigi-NG-. If he doesn't, I could always see if I could, even though it wouldn't be half as good.

So I've been kinda busy the past week and will be for the next two or so days, so I'll keep working on my hacks when I get the time, but the things I have to do are as follows:

- Fang
-Wonder Woman
- Bongo Bongo

I might be forgetting something that I haven't put up a preview of yet, but as of now, that's what to look out for.

So as just an overall update:
I finished Bongo Bongo. I have to release him soon.
Wonder Woman and Fang will come sometime soon, but there may be a bit of delay. School starts tomorrow for me so I'll be pretty busy with that so the time I get to work on hacks will be decreased. I'll still try to do them, but no guarantees when it comes to an ETA or timeline.

I know that feeling, I originally planned to do the Powerpuff Girls as a pack today, but I'm not sure of the time I will have. Any suggestions on who they should go over? I was thinking either Ness or Lucas.

The Professor is possible, but why Pokemon? It's a bit weird seeing as how they would look extremely weird.
