It has no effect on the actually CSS. Only the sc_selcharacter.pac can be edited. it's basically the same thing.

Sorry, I'll be more specific next time... All the PKMN Trainers pokemon have their own slot so the PKMN trainers CSP has no use anyways. It is now Roys. It's basically conserving space and reusing resources

The PMBR plans to do an exhaustive post soon with more details on the clone engine. However, doesn't KC-MM have a policy against stealing others work? As you can see by the codes he referenced, several members of the PMBR are referenced directly on the codelist as SonicBrawler obtained a leaked version of our codeset a long time ago and stole our codes (worst part is he even credits himself in the codes!)

Most importantly, I strongly advise each of you to read this thread as this code he is using has a high likelihood of corrupting your save file under specific circumstances as the old code stored data in unsafe locations. While this will not permanently damage your wii, you have a high likelihood of having to replace your save file somewhat frequently.

I have been using this for a few months and my saves are fine. I only credited myself as I edited one of teh codes in hxd. I talked with one of the admins who say its okay for me to post these codes here. I have not stolen these codes, as the stolen/leaked codes i found on pastebin (now removed, dont worry) only work on PM. No matter what, i never got them working on vBrawl. The one i have now is fine. >.> Just calm down and leave me alone. Im getting tired of (most) of you annoying people from PMBR. Leave us alone. Just because you guys are smarter at coding doesnt mean you have to be rude. Plus, I, witht eh help of PhantomWings, made the .rels ourselves.

yeah. ShadowWolf typed up most of the OP. It has the CSPs replacing Pokemon Trainer's Icons. Sorry :P

if it doesnt
its a perfect workaround to get 3 extra characters with their csps instead of just 1
all u have to do is link the cloned characters to cloned pokemons which is easlily done by using the "character replacement code" by sputnit

I'm confused. You say the codes aren't stolen, but then you say you only credited yourself because you edited a code? Where did the rest of them come from if you only edited one of them? (Which also sounds like you didn't write that one yourself, either.)

And by the way, when these codes corrupted my save, I didn't notice until I tried to change the My Music settings for battlefield, which froze the game every time due to clone results data being saved in weird places, as Shanus said. So... you might not notice at first or even for a while.

Edit: SIGH. If the regular music fix worked, do you think I'd be warning people?

* There is nothing in our rules that prevents people from posting codes made by others, if proper credit is given.
* We've had other users showcasing works from people who had never uploaded their productions to BV, so anyone could enjoy their work.
* Whether those codes were stolen, copied from Dantarion's wiki/pastebin or willingly given really isn't something that concerns us, or even anywhere near our jurisdiction to be perfectly honest.
* You'll have to settle this with him in private.

Besides, I'm sure that if SonicBrawler is nothing but a thief and his code is a wrong one that works as poorly as it's claimed to be, it shouldn't take long for the PMBR to show the community the working version of it and supplant it.

I've already explained these points in a bit more detail to ds22, so asking in this thread will honestly not bring you any more answers than just asking him directly. We don't plan on seeing a repeat of ASF's Extra Character Slot massive derail, so if there are more complaints of this kind, you (and other PMBR members) will have to either take it to PMs with Vyse/Myself, or more simply, to the Moderation Corner so we can all participate.

Now, I won't have this brought up again. If anyone has any sort of complaints with the way we are running our forum, do it in the appropriate place. This thread is not an appropriate place.

It's the second time the community has been warned of this threat to save files in a short time. I'm sure that the message has been heard loud and clear, and that we'll be able to deal with this temporary codeset until you guys release the 100%-stable vBrawl Clone Engine.

That's what backups are for, after all. And the good old My Music Reset codes. :)

Told you guys, and it only gets worse from there. Your game will freeze even after your remove the GCT.

For what it is worth, when I was playtesting, this destroyed my save file and my music. Even after completely deleting my save, I was still left with problems. I have to reset my Wii completely to get rid of it because it left traces on my Wii. That means I lost a few VC games I had bought prior to that.

Also, I will only say this: It seems that you guys only apply the rules whenever you feel like it. We have to keep working on Project M, and since this bit of unfinished stolen code was not released officially, we take no responsibility for the inevitable damage. We will also not provide any help with fixing it.

Thanks for all the warnings ;)

I'll be sure to test this code to every possible extent, and try to find possible bugs or glitches.
I'll make a list of workarounds (if I am succesfull) to help others who may have problems with the code.

Until then, I encourage everyone to test the code if you want to help others by doing so.

Unless you posess professional-level assembly coding knowledge and know Brawl's code like the back of your hand, this is not happening.

Even if you had the full source code (you don't), you wouldn't be able to use it properly. Each time you clone a character, you have to go into high-level assembly. You're going to have to wait until we perfect the code and make it bug-free.

You hit me up on twitter to ask me for permission to post this, and I said no. Why did I say no? Because you have done no development or any research yourself.

What is the point of putting your name on this? What credit are you looking for? I no longer post things on kcmm because I realize that most of this people on this site only care about getting things working ASAP, so they can play Goku vs Shadow or whatever.

All of the talented people working on things are either PW, or part of the PMBR.

Yes, I did post things on OpenSA. The idea was for people to help figuring out missing parts. PW has done that, and thats why you have the plug n play modules. And the reason I was able to make extremely quick progress on modules was because of PW releasing source to his module viewer.

You have to give back and work hard to get respect. And I don't respect you at all.

-Dantarion, one of 3 or 4 people you can credit almost 100% of the codes in your pack to.

Oh yeah, I am also the former host of kcmm, back before you guys had that DDoS attack taht almost got my hosting account closed :D

It freezes due to the abscence of Red.
However, there are less possibilities if you use the No Result Data Code.
IDK why, but it works.

And Dantarion, look at the first page.
They are not taking credit for this, they credit 3 people.

Also, the module format is documented in the RVL SDK - It's a very simple format to read and rebuild. You wouldn't have been able to make progress on them without PW's sources you say?

this is for the temporary fix to give knuckles, roy, and mewtoo CSP's

the first 3 codes by asfink are responsible for this whole magic
as he states on his codes thread: "These codes make the regular Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon load their Independent forms instead.  These should eliminate the need for 'Ind. Pokemon Engine' and 'CSS Fixes for Giga and Company' codes."

Using this code, we will edit csps for pokemon trainer as in this example to keep their csp's cosmetics:

Its simple to make one of this CSPs
just make a new image in Photoshop size:  260X320
and drag ur csp's into their corresponding corners
than remember to rescale back to 128X160 for correct CSP size.

Using the other codes I provided, they link a pokemon slot to the new clone characters
The new Custom CSS just gives Pokemon Trainer back his identity...
So now you should be able to use charizard's, squirtle's, and ivasaurs Csp cosmetics for use of the three new cloned characters
havent tested the codes though
so let me know guys what you find

you can load the different sfx


only thing is that IE6 updated his sfx codes, and i havent had a chance to check if they are still compatible
and if its anything like the PSA issue in 3.5.3, than when fighting characters that are based on each other, only one sfx will prevail

what codes do i only need if just want mewtwo and knuckles?

I haven't released a clone engine, but almost all of my info and notes have been public for a long time at OpenSA. I prefer posting information in a wiki format that allows anyone to edit and have the most updated info in once place, instead of using forum threads which someitmes grow stale when things get old.

Also, Riivo and the file replacement code can cooexist fine, I used to run P:M that way for the longest time!

Although, does this means the size limitation for the brsar+common5+others is no longer a problem? If not, are they managing space in the brsar by using unused sound offsets for these characters and muting/reducing the quality of other barely used sounds?

Eh, well I got excited when I saw this topic popping up again but it looks like it's another of those "collection of buggy codes that sorta gets the job done" setups.
Which is better than nothing, but I'd probably gonna wait until this doesn't interfere with my CBliss setup before bothering using it.

Would also be nice if the save corrupting issue gets fixed, it does indeed exist as I experienced it with the one extra slot codes. It's not a big issue considering you can just replace your save with a clean backup, but it's a pain having to do that every now and then when the results screen crashes become more frequent.

Also it sounds like this messes with how Pokemon Trainer works or something too? Since it borrows csps and switches him to his individual pokes or something? I'd be more interested in leaving him in his normal form as well, I never liked having the individual pokes in normal gameplay since they lack one move and a final smash.

But ye, those are just my 2 cents. I might mess with this if/when it becomes a bit more stable but until then I'll probably just wait for the codes to be refined/completed. I mean we've waited this long as it is, so any longer doesn't really bother me anymore.

i would imagine they edited marth's sfx that have unsuesed tdata to ahve roys, and maybe removed something that vbrawl has teh p:m doesnt so it increases filessize for everything.

they may be using pokemon trainers sfx, as they are obvioulsy using his csp's cosmetics for the moment...

Okay, my name (I think) is being thrown around in this thread way over my liking.

Let's get some things straight.

First of all (I can see this is fixed in the OP) I had nothing do with the release of these codes.

Second, I never said I was working to give the characters on this particular codeset their own CSS cosmetics. I am working on my life long dream of giving the Special characters like GigaBowser, Warioman, Alloys, etc. Their own CSS cosmetics. Yes, it can give them to extra slots too. No, I can't stop you guys from using it when I release it; If ever.*

Lastly, about making it work with cBliss; I said "Yes" in the more general terms of getting cBliss working with everything, NOT getting this specific codeset to work with cBliss.

^ Let's not be a smartass. The unlock everything code does unlock the characters, stages, trophies and stickers but not the hard-earned extras like Boss Battles, your own records, and Subspace data.

Exactly how many characters could be added once this thing gets refined before the file size limit gets hit? I'm thinking the Fallen Five, Forbidden Four, Geno, Megaman, Tabuu, Daisy, Scott Pilgrim, Paper Mario, Zoroark...the list goes on. But this thing is so horribly glitchy and considering it only gives Roy his own cosmetics right now...I don't really want to mess with it '~'

How would I go about taking the extra Sonic and Lucario slots off, leaving the Marth slot?

I'm sorry, but I tried and tried to get this to work. I even tried turning off some codes that came with the regular extra fighter system, but I just couldn't get this to work. The best thing I got was where the CSS showed up and had like 6 extra Random slots. Then it froze when I selected a character. But at that point I had forgotten to add in the Extra Fighter System codes previous to your codes. But adding those in just made the game freeze. So I'm not sure why it doesn't work.

Okay well then, you need to tell me EXACTLY which codes to use with your codes because I've tried different combinations and I just can't get it to work on my Wii with Gecko OS without freezing. Please make a guide or just a list of ALL the codes you need. Is it made to ONLY work on Dolphin?

The limit is 7 characters. Also, adding 1 character is much harder than adding two. These first bit of codes using the "MarioD" slot, which was used during the games development to test a debug version of Mario, that used the filename FitMarioD.pac, and has references in ft_mario.rel.

That slot is different because it is closer to being fully functional than the rest of the instance slots are. And, in terms of cosmetics, you will have to move the CSS array in memory and extend it to allow you to add on to the end of it and add new costmetics for other characters.

Should be pretty simple to do for people that you know, write codes and such.

smallest sc_selcharacter out there is 2.7mb
original is 3.6mb
file size shouldnt be a problem

it should be possible, using sputnit's code that replace what characters are called upon when choosing a character
its used in ASF1nk's initial Extra clone release.

So does this only allow csps for alloys,giga bowser, and warioman or can it do much more compared to normal css codes? Anyway amazing work ASF1nk.
