Requests are gone. But... (January 25, 2016)

I'm going to college, so I'm a pretty busy person. It's hard to find any free time to work on requested costumes, especially vertex ones. I made the tough decision of disabling requests altogether. I know I barely started taking them a few months ago, but it's difficult to keep up with requests, and they take a long time to finish. On top of that, they are kind of destructive for me. I won't sleep just to finish a model.

HOWEVER... instead of flat-out not working on models anymore, I thought of an alternative. Because I enjoy working on 3D models. It really helps me improve my skills, and it's a lot of fun. I am now going to take SUGGESTIONS. You can tell me a costume/model you'd like to see, and if I find it interesting, I'll work on it. Simple enough. Again, these are suggestions, so that means I won't do every single thing you post. This will allow me to do stuff you guys want, and work in a less-pressure schedule.

This won't affect Super Smash Bros. Melee - Remastered. I will continue to work on the project.

One more thing. I still have pending requests. I'll also finish those, but they may not be the first things I release.

Suggestion Guidelines

Below you'll find the suggestion guidelines. They're not as strict as Requests guidelines, so you'll have more freedom. Remember, these are suggestions. I may or may not make the costume you want.
Post your suggestion to my Facebook Page Wall or send me a private message in Brawl Vault. Please don't post requests on this thread or on my YouTube channel. It makes it hard for me to keep track.

*Note: All Costumes will be made in Melee Remastered Style, using my CSP poses

Suggest a costume!

+ Must be possible for the character to have such costume
    - Captain Falcon - Little Wyvern Costume ✓
    - Squirtle - Koopa Costume X
    - Fox - Shrek Costume X
    - Sheik - Spider Man Costume X

+ You must be specific
    - If you want a costume based on a specific version of a character/thing, send me a picture of that
    - If you want details (pattern color and size, tone, etc.), mention them
    - Say if you want it for Brawl or Project M, and say what slot it should go on

+ I can do texture edits to models made by other people

I'm not a big fan of having Melee textures poured on other characters, but the way you do it is sooooo much better! Keep up the good work man. I really like the Melee Donkey Kong, I'm going use it in my Project M game! :D

For your melee Mewtwo remastered, I feel like you should accent the team colors a little bit more. They should stand out a little more. However, the texture is still freaking aweome. very accurate of Melee textures and really good CSPs. keep up the awesome work.

I thought you were going to say that. I like you're melee ones more though so ill stick to those, although both look amazing.

I have an idea. In my Melee Fox, I added 2 sets of CSPs: One where Fox has his mouth open, and another where his mouth is closed (I personally prefer the latter.)

I could do this with Mewtwo and add a second pack of Melee CSPs with more accented colors to satisfy preferences.

The reason my previous Mewtwo (and pretty much all my previous hacks) was more colorful was because I based the recolors off the Melee CSPs, not the actual textures. For example, in Melee, the CSP for Ness looks much brighter and colorful than the in-game model. The same for Mewtwo.

Anyway, I'll fix the CSPs right now. Expect them within 2 hours. I won't re-upload it as a separate hack, but I will change the download folder itself. Just re-download later :)

XD. I was talking about the Melee CSPs in reference to the actual Melee model.  The skin was supposed to be super accented, but it was subtle. Your CSPs were awesome.  But your idea is brilliant. I am fairly certain that it should satisfy everyone's preferences.  Dude, you are awesome. You need an award for being awesome. Can't wait for the rest of your textures.    ;D

Could you please make a yellow Link color like the one he has in vBrawl? I don't want to use both black colors. (Not that I don't like them, I just don't like it when characters have two of the same color)

Well... I really don't mind when people ask me for recolors or request costumes because I enjoy it like you have no idea. But if you want something specific, it's best if you do it yourself. In other words, yes. You have my permission :)

I was wondering when are you planning to release the Zero Suit Samus and Regular Samus Texture?
The simple beauty of how they looks makes me feel like I'm actually playing melee, but with a fresh coat of reused paint (if that made any sense).

These textures are just too good, man! They feel just like Melee, specially when using Melee's sfx and stuff. Also, I have two requests: Could you make a costume for Link using his Fierce Deity's color pallete? Like just the colors of the tunic, the shield/face/etc. remain normal. That'd be sweet! And if it's not much to ask, maybe a version with white hair and one without it. And also a Phazon Suit pallete for Melee Samus, it'd look so amazing.

Keep all the great work! Hope i'm not asking too much though xD

Hello, I'm a big fan of your melee remastered textures, and I have a request, I'm using Project M and it bothers me that Link, Falco, and Fox have extra slots with their Project M alternate costumes. I would really appreciate it if you could do additional recolors for them in the same style as the ones you did,

Umm... I already deleted those files from my computer :/ The CSPs look one way, but the renders are stretched, twisted, and overall distorted. Like, I had to stretch DK's limbs to get the perfect pose. Besides, each character was taken at a different camera angle, so they all look away.

Just wondering, if you plan to put young links voice over toon links in your young/toon link it would be awesome if you could because no matter where I look I CANT FIND ANY. I know that you said you would in that message you sent me, but I'm just making sure because I thought that you would make a mixture of both of their voices. Good luck on those projects btw.

My question is that how are you going to remaster Snake? Since he didn't have any significant changes on his skin or color adjustments on his sneaking suits in any of his games.

This is what I do when it comes to the characters that weren't in Melee:

1. If the characters were on Melee as trophies (Pit, Samus Unmasked, Olimar), I'll make their costumes and textures based on the trophy textures

2. If the character wasn't in Melee at all, then I'll make their textures and costumes based on their GameCube games. For example, Snake was in Twin Snakes on the GC. His textures were revamped and colored to resemble his suit on that game. Also, I "shaved" his beard, and made him younger. Believe me, he was a pretty tough character to re-texture.

Regarding your recent upload of the Phazon Suit... I don't know if you were aware of this when you made it, or if you did it intentionally...

The torso, thighs, and shoulder coils are not supposed to be red. It's just a lighting effect.

This is how it's supposed to be colored, though there is a bit of a small blue tinge on the silver of the lower torso and thighs, but that's because of the lighting effect from the Phazon.

Yes, it was intentional. Since all the pictures I found were inconsistent when it came to the color scheme, I decided to make it based on the Phazon Suit sprite in Super Metroid.

There isn't a Phazon Suit in Super Metroid, only Varia and Gravity.

I personally think it'd be better using the screenshot Xeno posted for reference, the red is really bright currently.

I'm still working on other characters. I don't know when I will finish all, especially because of Toon Link, Ganondorf and Zelda/Sheik. They are the hardest characters. Plus, I also work on other costumes and requested recolors. I sort of estimated by when I would finish all of them, but I don't want to give myself a deadline. I'd rather keep it as a surprise for you guys and me :)

They are indeed pretty much done. The reason I don't release them right away is because I don't know how much I will take on the next one. In case I take too long, I release the next one on the list while I continue working. Let's say that I release the ones under "Coming Soon." If I take a month to finish Ike, I have nothing else to release in the meantime.

Actually, it seems that I'm not taking that long on each hack anyway. I think I may release them within the next 2 weeks.

Not only will I release the Melee remastered hacks in a single pack, but I will eventually release a copy of what's in my SD card. That being:
- character hacks
- stages from Melee and Smash 64
- new songs (and changed titles, of course)
- CSPs, battle portraits, stage and character selection icons
and much more. This will be in the far future, though.

Hey, I just realized that you added a preview for Melee Sonic. The recolors looks pretty cool, seems you got based from other characters of the franchise  :af2:

I just have a small comment about Sonic's color (blue/default) being a bit too bright IMO. I guess maybe you went for a Sonic Heroes-ish tone, but don't you think that it would be better if you used a tone more like the one on Sonic Adventure DX/Sonic Adventure 2: Battle? You know like a darker blue.

Plus, those two games were exclusives for Gamecube, same era as Melee (I know Sonic Heroes was, too, but it was also on other consoles).

Indeed, I used Sonic Heroes (GC version) as reference. The Sonic on the preview picture looks bright because of the lighting effect on the Green Hill stage. That's where I took the picture.
The CSPs show the characters in their natural, unaltered form. If you want an idea of how the character actually looks like, look at the CSPs. The stages have different lighting, and there are some that I avoid, like Castle Siege, Pictochat, Halberd, and others because the lighting makes the characters look too bright. That's why I showed Roy and Ike on Pokemon Stadium 1.
Sonic is actually much darker than he looks in the preview. Here is his texture sheet.

I admit that in the preview he has a cyan-ish tone to his fur, but again, it's a lighting effect.

I'm really liking your Melee textures man! I think Donkey Kong was your best one imho, because the one that I used last time was really bad. That Shadow the Hedgehog texture for looks dope compared to the ones made for Sonic. I can't wait to get a closer look at it when your finished! :D

You could make the N64 R.O.B. green like it is on the logo for the N64 (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/04/Nintendo_64_Logo.svg (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/04/Nintendo_64_Logo.svg)), then replace the black one with a Wii (or Wii U if you want to keep it black) styled costume. If you don't like the GCN having the same color arms as the SNES R.O.B.'s body, make them more gray, maybe closer to NES R.O.B.'s body color. As for the yellow color, you could base it off of the Color TV Game.

Ironically, I made a version of Brawl R.O.B.'s yellow color once that was identical to vBrawl yellow R.O.B., just with the label on the base swapped with the Color TV Game logo.

I like the console idea, but I think you should also release Brawl R.O.B.'s blue, yellow (assuming you don't have a replacement) and pink colors in the pack as well.

Just some suggestions to help you with R.O.B.

Um, for the Color scheme of the Pokemon trainer, the first picture on that google search you did would be his official artwork of his original game and the third picture is his official design in the origins remake I think. Maybe you can make recolors of both of those, just a thought.

However his costume in Brawl is the FireRed Leaf Green games, and I honestly prefer it. Ash ought to be a bonus costume since it's the show and all, although I guess since Pokemon Puzzle Challenge is a game and he's in it that wouldn't be too big of a deal. I don't even play Brawl version any more though so take my opinion for that.

Did you make any final decisions for the bonus PM costumes? Because Charizard/Squirtles red/blue team outfit is their default while Ivysaurs green team is the shiny costume. PM purple would be rather cool (I never liked that PM had black, grey, blue and cyan Charizard).

Also if you go with Ash the leftmost one is his original and most classic design, use that.

Well, it took me some time to finally find the actual model of that, and it wasn't T-posed, neither was the the ones without downloads for the model, so I T-posed it and stuff (which was not easy from this position:)

Not exactly. That post has been up for a really long time, and only a few people have volunteered to help. Those people are helping with the model, voice, etc. I don't want to pressure them, which is why I try not to ask them things like "Are you done?" It's also the reason why I don't post anything regarding Toon Link.

I think that they are supposed to be used with the Melee voices that are included with the download.

Indeed, that file is meant to go with the Melee sound effects. That's one of the changes I'm going to make on all my hacks. Put the .pac file with the sound file for those who don't want the voice mods.

If I could make a suggestion I actually came up with a pretty cool idea for Toon Link's Melee Remaster (or to just be an entirely new hack). Since you're so good with textures, I honestly think a texture pack based off of Wind Waker/Four Swords Adventures for all of Toon's colors including his Outset costume in Project M made by you would be awesome. It could be separate from your actual Melee Remastered Toon Link hack similar to how Melee Remastered R.O.B and Console R.O.B were.

Melee Link should be compatible with Project M because that model is from Project M. The PMBR made it.

1. Be sure that you have both the .pac and .pcs file for all the recolors
2. Did you change the "this game's winner is" portraits at the results screen?
3. It could be your Results Screen Stage
4. or maybe the opponents were faulty
5. Make sure that if you have FitLink.pac, have the .sawnd file as well as the included FitLinkMotion.pac.

Help with Brawl's Data Partition (July 8, 2014)

After we finish the Melee Remastered collection, I'm going to release a full build so you guys can just paste onto your SD cards and play. It won't only be the characters. I'm going to include:

- characters
- CSPs and Battle Portraits

That's likely due to the fact that these sounds were probably obtained through the Sound Test in Melee as opposed to a straight game rip. The only game rip I found through online searches isn't up anymore.

Wi-Fi safe lets you go in Wi-Fi battles, watch replays and what more, but makes the game as slow as normal Brawl.

Full codeset doesn't let you watch replays or go to Wi-Fi, but game speed is faster as that of Melee.

As far as I know, that's the difference.

The difference between the two versions are just stage striking and lightshielding. Everything else is the same.

Not exactly. That post has been up for a really long time, and only a few people have volunteered to help. Those people are helping with the model, voice, etc. I don't want to pressure them, which is why I try not to ask them things like "Are you done?" It's also the reason why I don't post anything regarding Toon Link.


Are you still continue with the Young/Toon Link? Because KTH recently made an amazing Hack and if he it's ok with that, you can use that model as base, if you want of course :)

I'm loving how this project is coming together, but I just had one SMALL complaint (huge emphasis on "small"). I understand that you use Melee sounds for basically everything, but I noticed that there is a sound missing that I loved hearing in actual Melee. In SSBM, you'd hear like a sort of boom noise when you hit someone with a really strong attack when they were at a high damage, and kind of a smaller boom when the move wasn't as strong but still strong enough to make that sound. For example, you can hear the first sound I described at around 21:20 in this video when Dr. Mario hits Mario with the Warp Star: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kg6IoATvugk. Ooooh, ok I see. Dang, after reading all that it really does seem like implementing those sounds is impossible. Hopefully later down the line SOMEONE will figure it out.

Edit: oh I remember that some of the icons in Melee have a different portrait than their CSP's (and some of them are mirrored). Such nice little weird details.

Your  Melee Young/Toon Link Remastered model is fantastic, but for some reason after I added the model, the game would freeze everytime I select a stage in Training for every character.

When it comes to filling the extra slots for Project M, I add a few more costumes that either I came up with, or were intended as requests. For Zelda, I will make a purple costume inspired by Brawl. For Ganon, I'll also make a Grandpa Ganon costume.

You may have noticed that though Fox, Falco, and Link's costumes follow a Red, Green, and Blue pattern. The reason I didn't make those costumes look like Brawl is because their default colors are practically the same. Link has a green, red, and blue tunic in both Melee and Brawl, so it's pointless to put them twice.

I've got a request, one you might enjoy: The introduction in Brawl and Project M with each character facing the light could be redone so each character could be in their Melee poses:

I'm actually working on re-creating many things from Melee, like the "Congratulations" screens (for both All-Star and Classic), and indeed, the intro screen. But in order to do that, I need to finish all the characters, and I'm still missing Zelda, Sheik, Ganon, and Pit.

I've also been thinking about recreating the Melee intro video using the Remastered models and textures, but I doubt it. It would take me way too long, and being in college, it's something that I don't have a lot of. I'm considering it, though ;)

That reminds me, did you ever find out what was up with that Snakegrenade bug?

I'm thinking that it is the Goldeneye007 mine model. It's weird, because the mine itself works, but I don't know why that would interfere with Snake's grenade. I'm pretty sure it's just a random bug because it doesn't make sense. You can fix it by using Project M's default common3 file. I will try it again with the new P:M 3.5 common3, and if I get the same mistake, then I'll just have to remove the mine.

 More awesomely\complexly, you could do a Majora's Mask costume, where Young Toon Link has some mask, maybe the Keaton Mask, along with the famous Gilded\Razor Sword and Hero's/Mirror Shield.

Hey, I just tried to play Snake for the first time on your Melee 1.5 voice sfx and whenever I used a B attack, it froze the game. What do I do to fix this? And everytime I try to download any of your Melee remastered hacks (such as Melee Falco, Fox, Mario etc.) dropbox tells me that it's been moved or deleted. Where can I find your amazing hacks?

No... At least not yet. I would need someone to change the models for me. For now, I just gave the Melee Remastered textures to the trophies of characters that retain their Brawl models. Characters like Zelda, Link, DK, etc. will keep their regular trophies.

1. If you don't want Melee Adventure just use Project M's common2.pac (though that will remove the expanded Classic Mode.
2. I will make the changes you as for (making the All Star battles have at least 2 opponents), but I won't release another version of SSBMR with that.
3. I won't remaster the Brawl versions of Wolf, Link, Zelda, Sheik, Ganon, Fox, or Falco.
A) I'm trying to keep all characters Meleefied.
B) The textures for the Brawl Zelda Fighters are a major pain in the butt to modify
4. I already remastered Brawl Toon Link. You can get him in my P:M version of Melee Toon Link. It's a special edition that includes 5 Young Link and 4 Toon Link recolors. I'm not making a full Toon Link pack.

This is really impressive stuff. I'd say this is the most holistic pack I've seen on this site.

I'll definitely be giving this a shot, but I also play with another set of textures. I know plenty of things are pack-exclusive, but would you consider making a download for your work on the Melee items? They're very well done and somehow no one else has previously made them to that standard.

This will be one of the best mods of Project M.

That is why I know how to mod this game, so I can rip exclusive costumes off of other hax.

I might do what i said above, but I am not the person to repost these costumes. I do it for my own personal fun.
I might try to run 2 hacks at the same time. The Smash 3 pack and Melee Remastered pack.

How i plan to go about this is by getting the latest wersion of the file patch code (3.5.3) upgrader code to change the FPC version on Project M, and with that, have a seamless switch between pack 1 (Melee Remastered) and Pack 2 (Vanilla PM with Smash 3 and 3C costumes) in-game.

Lucky for me I got an 16 GB card and Homebrew Channel, so I am going to go to town with this when I get the chance! I also will be using CBliss, more ASL stages, and much, much more.

Give a big thanks to this community, for providing the tools to tinker with this game.

Exclusives seem pretty fair, okay.

I have another suggestion, actually. Could you replace Link's bombs with the ones from Ocarina of Time? They may need to be modeled but that would complete the transformation, since he already has its bow, hookshot, boomerang, etc...

Awesome work! This has some really nice textures. I especially love the TP Zelda recolour, Samus, and Deity Link is the bomb (did you make all these textures)?
Anyways, read that Big Boss Snake crashes, he does for me at least (Hackless version). I did a little experiment and tried using PM 3.6b Big Boss and he seems to work without crashing. I didn't know if this had been fixed yet, so here's a link in case anyone wants to see if it fixes their crashing. I made some textures for it really quick.

I enjoy this a lot. I am actually pretty impressed. I have always love the art style of Melee, and this out right recreates it without... looking too ridiculous. The only thing is that Luigi's idle pose needs to have the eyes half closed like Melee, and then I will be set. I am pretty sure that might be a pain, despite me finding a Melee Luigi model. Aside from that, this is almost perfect.

I have a few questions and a suggestion:

1. So far this mod is mostly just texture hacks (minus the Melee Adventure stuff), but do you plan on doing anything like changing animations IE smoothening Wario's animations, model changes IE removing Wario's butt outline on his overalls, or giving characters new attacks IE replacing the Wario Waft? (as you can tell I really want Wario changed)

2. Does this mod have any easter eggs in the trophies or anything? If not, do you plan on adding any?

3. Does Peach's Daisy costume have a third eye?

My suggestion is, since the Melee Adventure costumes Giant Bowser and Giant DK change gameplay a bit, I think you should make them alternate characters by holding a button while selecting the two. Obviously it can't be R since that's already taken, so I think making them selectable by holding Z would be a nice option. I don't know why, but I feel like having those two costumes feels awkward.

1. While the project consists of hacks done by many people including myself, we're not a team like Project M quite yet. Maybe in the future when I start working with other modders and get more experience, we can change things like movesets and codes. As of now, I'm not the person to ask for custom movesets :/

2. Not really. I mean, Fierce Deity is in the Triforce Slash trophy, but that's about it :P

3. Nope

4. I added those costumes because that was the only way I could put them in Melee Adventure. I may add them as extras using cBliss in a future update. I can't make them selectable by pressing a button, though. That's coding, and I don't know how to do that.

If you don't know who Midbus is, he is the primary antagonist of Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and I really dig his character design:

Well, if you're talking about the one currently on the Vault, then that's the one I'm talking about as well and there are some bugs, as you know. Namely the Falcon Punch graphic being misaligned as well as some errors when throwing other characters.

Unless you updated it and I wasn't aware?

I'm so glad you're taking requests again, me and my local scene are big fans of your work. I have one question though. How many requests can i make? i already know the guidelines, but is there a limit on how many requests can you take from someone? Anyways, i'm really in love with this project, your costumes are the only ones i have in my build!

Well, if you mean how many costumes you can request in a lifetime, there's no limit. If you think of a costume in a few days or weeks after you already requested one, it's ok.

Best-looking rings I've seen on any Sonic mod, ever, and the colors are dead-on. In that sense, it definitely beats its competitors. Good stuff, as always.

However, you probably know about that one little detail that has my fanboy panties in a wad.
I'm not one to request anything, but should you find yourself with no other requests or personal projects to work your magic on, consider giving that a shot with your new vertexing skills.

It's not going to be an import, since the actual model might either be too high poly or low poly, and because i know you don't want imports right now. It want it to be for PM, and go over the big boss costume. OR Maybe you can make a recolor pack to go over snake's default costumes (the first 5, not the big boss one). I'd be good either way.

Think you could do something based on Pikomi's redesign of Giana (which ended up being used by Spellbound for Giana Sisters DS, the reboot of the series) for Peach? If there is a good enough model for Mario instead then feel free to do it on him since Giana was inspired by the plumber after all :P

Could you make a link vertex where the leather pad on his sword hand is removed, along with the shield. I also want him to have arm blades, similar to spiderman 2099? Can you do a Sonic 06 styled Sonic? Basically with colors and textures more accurate to his home game, There are a few out on the vault but they look either too bright or import-wise are very stiff and don't have any facial animations.

Trying to find something with accurate colors as if they appared ingame as they give him these weird shaders. This is only a texture suggestion because Brawl Sonic looks kinda similar to 06 Sonic, Though his colors look a bit more duller.

I think it'd be cool if you retextured the outfit on your Joestar Fox to look more like Quote from Cave Story if possible. Requests are gone. But... (January 25, 2016)

I'm going to college, so I'm a pretty busy person. It's hard to find any free time to work on requested costumes, especially vertex ones. I made the tough decision of disabling requests altogether. I know I barely started taking them a few months ago, but it's difficult to keep up with requests, and they take a long time to finish. On top of that, they are kind of destructive for me. I won't sleep just to finish a model.

HOWEVER... instead of flat-out not working on models anymore, I thought of an alternative. Because I enjoy working on 3D models. It really helps me improve my skills, and it's a lot of fun. I am now going to take SUGGESTIONS. You can tell me a costume/model you'd like to see, and if I find it interesting, I'll work on it. Simple enough. Again, these are suggestions, so that means I won't do every single thing you post. This will allow me to do stuff you guys want, and work in a less-pressure schedule.

This won't affect Super Smash Bros. Melee - Remastered. I will continue to work on the project.

One more thing. I still have pending requests. I'll also finish those, but they may not be the first things I release.

Suggestion Guidelines

Below you'll find the suggestion guidelines. They're not as strict as Requests guidelines, so you'll have more freedom. Remember, these are suggestions. I may or may not make the costume you want.
Post your suggestion to my Facebook Page Wall or send me a private message in Brawl Vault. Please don't post requests on this thread or on my YouTube channel. It makes it hard for me to keep track.

Really liking your Soap Shoes Sonic, I was hoping someone would give these a decent texture someday! I imported the shoe model over Smash 3 Sonic and it looks pretty nice:

I showed it to some friends of mine, and while I think it looks great, they seem to believe the shoes' arches are a little too wide. I do wonder how it might look though, so if you ever decide to make a change to the model let me know.

I want a classic Ridley model for Bagan: not just a classic-styled recolor of his model, but a model that works over his boneset and looks good. Something like the Melee model is a good example!
