Title: How to Open a .Sawnd File?
Post by: sonicfan456 on May 21, 2014, 05:05:53 PM
I'm working on a SFX mod for The Villager PSA since he has Pit's sfx and it sounds really awkward. Since I'm using Project M, I have no clue how to replace these sound effects. I already have most of the .Wav files but I don't know where to put them.

Hmm... I don't personally use Project M, but I do know that, indeed, sound replacement is entirely done through .sawnd files. I think you could try this:
1. Get a Smashbros_sound.brsar.
2. Replace Pit's sfx with the ones of Villager. Anything could do, I use Brawlbox surprisingly, in my case it's simply the most convenient (also because sound files of Sm4sh and Brawl are very similar).
3. Once you've replaced the sounds you want, open up SuperSawndz, open up your smashbros_sounds.brsar and click on Pit. I think maybe you have to right click it or something, but say: create .sawnd. Now you got Pit's sawnd file. Possibly rename the file to the correct group number.
4. Put the .sawnd file in sfx folder of Project M folder.

Hope this helps! I don't personally use Project M, but maybe this works.

The method with the sound_bsrar does work with project m. Ive done this many times and it works.
