However, I won't make full characters from scratch or import characters not on my list or beta test or anything like that.

IMO, for the unique identity, since he sounds like just a big fan of your project, I'm sure if you took him onto your team, he'd be really happy, especially if he could help decide on what's included and stuff. Just a thought, and it would involve not being needed to have its own uniqueness, because then you could merge your projects. P.S. You forgot you can also categorize by anything else that you can come up with, like, for example, what elements they use(e.g. Fire, Ice, Lightning) or what type of fighter they are(e.g. Shooter, like Samus; Melee, like Link; Tank, like Bowser) Title: Re: Super Smash Bros Extreme.
