Title: BrawlBox Full Speed for Animation Editor?
Post by: MrPotaDos on August 11, 2016, 12:56:06 PM
It seems like when editing animations in BrawlBox, changing the speed past 60 doesn't change how fast the animation plays. Is there any way to have it play at the speed it does in the game?

The speed of the game is 60 FPS, which is what BrawlBox should be set to when viewing/editing animations.

Just for extra info. I might be wrong though.

Older Brawlbox versions can view animations faster. (e.g brawlbox 0.68)
If your using the newest brawlbox version (0.77) it might seem slower

Previous BrawlBox versions could go up to 120 FPS, if I recall correctly, but that was removed because Brawl goes up to 60 FPS, not 120 FPS.

You guys are making stuff up.

Older BB versions do not run animations faster by any means, in fact, they run them slower if anything. BB v0.63d for example used different timer code which ran animations far slower than the actual framerate value set, and it's very noticeable.

Brawlbox v0.68 runs the animation at the same frame rate as Brawlbox v0.77, I just tested the same model running the same animation on loop side by side and neither one fell behind the other after a minute of waiting.

As for the original question, I don't know why it won't go faster. You should be able to render up to 200 fps but it seems to be stuck at 60fps, huh.

Oh, RiP.

Thanks for correcting me on that. I just assumed the speed was the FPS in previous versions.
