1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: iwantgames Projects: Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS Samus Update Released on: June 18, 2015, 03:56:03 AM
yeah, verts already custom made a lucina model. He put a lot of work into it, and for me to import the sm4sh one would be rude. Don't want to see all that hard work go to waste, so I decided to do marth instead. Also, she wouldn't have been as quick to do as marth, all that hair is making her poly count high. I would also have to do rigging magic for the hair.

Thanks for your kind words, but I wouldn't really mind. I won't be pissed or anything like that if anyone chooses the wiiu or 3ds model over my custom model, I made it because I wanted to improve my previous work, not to limit someone's creativity. That said, if you have trouble importing her hair, you can create a mix between my model and the smash U model, or import my custom model if you feel like it (I think it is lower poly than the wiiu version, but I can't confirm).

Really looking forward to your custom models.

Lucina's released, get her here!

Also included are 7 additional recolors courtesy of Program.

Final renders (you may not be able to see anything at all on the forum because the pictures are kinda huge so I'll link to my deviantart account):

Do you have any PSDs? That'd be the best way to help people out with recoloring! If you set it up the same way Smash 3 does, anyway. Either way, PSDs would be very useful! Also, I'd love to try and set up a render of her if possible, I'd just need a pose that's not the default FE:A artwork pose because that's probably been done a million times, and one that'd fit CSPs.
I don't use photoshop, I use paint.net, so I can't provide those files. Also, keep in mind that before posing the model she'd have to be rigged to Marth's skeleton (again). But sure, you can try rendering her in a cool pose. I also think a different pose would be better, maybe something like those promotional figma pics.

Here are all the textures the model uses, I'm releasing them before the model so people can start making the recolors, just like I said before. The UV mapping is intuitive, so I think people won't have a problem identifying the textures with the different parts of the model. However I may need to clarify something: the blue part in the belts file corresponds with her feet. It's there because I ran out of space in the body file.

Once people starts geting the recolors done, I'll add them to the pack giving proper credit to whoever made them. I'll also submit renders of the finished model with the new textures if the model's not released by the time. I'm thinking of a release this next week by the way.

Hey Vert, I've noticed it has been over two weeks since you've updated us on Lucina - I'm not trying to rush you or demand further progress, just curious if the silence is due to a problem you've encountered with/additional features you're trying to implement into the model or if you've just been too busy to work on it. Referencing your last post in this thread it seemed like you were nearly done aside from recolors.

Nah, I didn't really have much free time the last 2 weeks, I had to do a lot of work. I haven't encountered problems so far, so don't worry, I'm nearly done with it. I made small progress though: I've retextured the lips and some hair pieces because I wasn't completely satisfied with the previous ones (the hair tips looked low quality and the lips looked too much like Samus's). And I'm about 75% done with the Owain/Lissa recolor -I also included the new cape emblem for the Tiki recolor-. Have some pictures:

Considering recolors are very time consuming, and that the only ones I use are "done", I'm thinking of releasing the texture files first so people can start making the rest of the Smash 4 recolors. If they get done and have a certain level of quality, I'll include them in the final pack, always giving the proper credit, of course. Let me know what you think.

I won't change the body because it might affect the shoulders and also the rig, but I textured the hair shadow. Also improved a lot the hair texture and started some recolors. I don't plan to do all of them, only the ones I use the most in Smash for 3DS and some custom ones. Already finished Tikicina, and my custom Chromcina is nearing completion. I plan to do Owaincina next, then release.

I didn't realize she was so young, that makes more sense then. Well, regarding my other comment I believe the legs do still need some attention.

I think the model is over emphasizing the hind muscles and forming an irregular curvature in the front before reaching the shins.

You are completely right, I haven't noticed it before. I don't know if that error was in mhy first model, might've happened when adapting the model to marth's skeleton. Already fixed.

Also modified a bit the hair texture and made it a bit darker, fixed the UV maps on the sheath (didn't notice that dark line before), fixed a weird vertex on her cape and made her arms a bit wider. Tell me what you think:

might as well show this here... :3

Great Work! Looks very close to the source material.

Anyway, I'm almost done with Lucina. I'd like to hear some constructive criticism before I upload the model, so that I can fix whatever people notices before release.
Some changes since last time include finished UV mapping (which took a lot of time), improved belt textures, texture fixes on the white part of the boots, narrowed the head a bit, and added a sheath (got lazy so it's from Chrom's WiiU model). Proportions look a bit weird to me, but I didn't want to modify them from the previous model so she fit's Marths bones without problem.

Edit: One of the major problems with the prior Lucina model by the LST, was that the hair was immobile and horribly clipped through her cape. Would it be possible to have her hair be affected by the physics engine, despite being placed over Marth? And if not, could it be rigged to the cape to achieve a similar result?
You mean kinda like what Project M did with Shadow Peach's cape? I don't know if it would be possible, but I made sure her hair doesn't clip as much as it did before. It's much shorter and lower-poly this time, since it works via transparencies.

That Lucina looks AMAZING! Also RTB posted a link of all models ripped from SmashU+all the scripts needed to import them into 3ds max on models-resource
https://www.mediafire.com/?e7tacds6nrot6 <---- where you can find all the model files from SmashU
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27874399/Models/SmashBrosU.html <------- tutorial and tools for getting them into 3ds max.
Thanks but  I can't open the files, I don't have 3ds max. I'd need a .obj or a .3ds file.

Thanks to all the support I've been receiving, I've decided to finish Lucina. She's almost done right now, though she still needs UV work. major changes are the shoes and the texture for the face - I don't have the one Satoshi made so I made a new one -.

Also, I need a model of Marth from the WiiU smash, could anyone send me one?
12  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Awakening Marth v2 Released / Sm4sh Lucina on: February 04, 2015, 10:28:42 AM
So how's Lucina coming out? This thread has seem like a wasteland. Lol jk but seriously, how's progress doing?

Considering ripping models from the wiiU and the 3DS is almost possible, I don't feel like finishing that new version of Lucina. (What would be the point of finishing it if it would get replaced by her actual model of SSB4 in a few months? It seems like a waste of time and effort to me)

However if the people who follows this thread wants what I have done so far, I'll gladly upload it so others can actually finish what I won't. She's almost done anyway, she mostly needs some optimization.

Also relevant is that all the textures from Awakening have been ripped from the game.

For the team I'm on, yes, and I will continue Lucina with Vert unless he's decided to quit. Other than that, I have no plans to continue, except for maybe personal things.

Also, on that note, I think I'm going to limit Lucina's weapons to be Falchion and then an optional Shield of Seals, who knows if my motivation will hold with all those weapons PLUS her mask versions, haha.
Of course I'll continue, there's still a lot of people who play Project M. It's just that I don't have much free time right now to work on Lucina. If this does'nt change in the near future, I'll just release what I have right now to not keep you waiting.
14  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Awakening Marth v2 Released / Sm4sh Lucina on: September 26, 2014, 08:50:24 AM
Awesome work on the Fire Emblem! The falchion overall looks good too, but the handle looks too blocky and low poly. Think you could fix it?
And here's more progress from Lucina:

I'll try to finish her this weekend. I'll reshape the arms, remap the belts, make the missing hair pieces, improve a bit the hair texture, lower the amount of polygons on the cape and make the collar of her undershirt.

15  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Awakening Marth v2 Released / Sm4sh Lucina on: September 13, 2014, 11:38:30 AM
More progress:

Changes:
- The body now has a better shape. Her back now properly resembles the SSB4 model. Her chest is flatter and she's less voluptuous in general. The collar is more open too. Also, keep in mind that I still need to reshape the arms.
- The belts and the cape are from a high detailed model another user sent me. Their textures still need to be mapped correctly.
-The hair is almost finished, only missing her sideburns. I'll improve the textures a bit adding a couple of effects as soon as I can.
-Her legs are thicker, and her boots are bigger. I also modified a bit her shoes. Everything keeps the proportions of the original model, of course.
 - The cape brooch is redone too.
