1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: cBliss on: May 29, 2013, 01:38:01 PM
What you are doing now though, does it work?
Also when you added <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter" disc="/fighter/" recursive="true" resize="true" create="true"/>, did you still have the line that said <folder external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter" disc="/fighter/" recursive="true" resize="true"/>? Because if you did, Riivo will ignore the second one on the xml. You will also have to add the path for EVERY file in the fighter folder if you plan on file linking instead of folder linking for the same reason.

I've tried this method with folders before. While it works for file replacement, it's never worked for me with file creation. I've always had to manually link the files if I'm creating a file as opposed to just creating a folder and calling it good. However, I can't remember if I ever had set 'recursive="true"' or not. That said, the more I'm reading the more I think I never set the recursive flag. I'll get back to you on that.

Between the new costume slots, the Stage Expansion 2.0 code, the updated modlauncher xml from Project M, and the extra character slot, it may be worthwhile for me to make a new proper version of the Modlauncher xml. Especially one with save file redirection built in. I prefer that layout as opposed to the layouts which mimic the FPC format.

Can't wait to try out the new costumes, though...

*Jaw Drops*

Wow, just wow. Amazing job on this, ASF1nk

i have an idea. let's write the new fighter files to the xml of riivolution. i'm gonna test the first one i edited. i'll edit if it works

edit. got it to work. that's how you do it.

add this to your xml

<file external="/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf//fighter/nameoffighter/FitnameXX.pcs" disc="/fighter/nameoffighter/FitnameXX.pcs" create= "true"/>
dont forget to add the pac files too

do this for every new slot and it should be flawless now

i'm gonna work on a xml for this. give me a few hours at the most.

That's the way I've done it for the CSE and stage expansion, although I use a modified Modlauncher xml as opposed to Beyond's, so the filepaths are a lot different for me. I would've tested this out but on account of not being at home at the moment, I can't exactly do it.

One thing to note is that you just can't add a folder to the xml to save time as opposed to adding individual files. It'll replace all the files in that particular folder, but it will never actually create a file, so unfortunately you have to add an entry for every single pac and pcs...one of the few advantages the FPC has over Riivo.
3  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Project: 06 Sonic on: June 12, 2012, 08:31:10 PM
Very easily.  YouTube is awesome.  Videos and research on the subject amount to more than enough.  I've never played a Final Fantasy game in my life yet I did a Cloud moveset.

Not to derail this thread further, but I just come off of beating '06. I hate the game if you take it at face-value (aside from having some awesome ideas gone horribly wrong, a kickass soundtrack, and Dan Green) but it's incredibly fun to see how badly you can break the game. That said, this is probably one of the best Let's Play's/commentaries to look at.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf-SMZUyj-s" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf-SMZUyj-s</a>

I have enough to say about it that I could easily do my own Let's Play if you need to know anything about it. Strangely enough though, I found Shadow the most fun to play and least broken of the 3 characters. Incidentally, if you're going to be making a moveset around the gems, they'd better be as broken and infinite as they are in '06. Especially the Red Gem, Sky Gem, and Purple Gem.

On a more serious note though, the model looks as good as it can be considering it's the '06 model. For what it's worth, the texture work in Sonic '06 is terrible when you take away the "next-gen shininess" lighting, so don't worry too much about the texture seeming different. All I can say is, good luck animating Sonic's noodle arms and legs. I'd make a quip about Sonic Team not being able to do it right but they were just really lazy and I'd be willing to bet you can do better.
4  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: who says Megaman.EXE would never have a model? also the Toughest poll in history on: April 09, 2012, 04:07:48 PM
To be quite honest, looking at the top 3 I'm not exactly worried. I'd love to see models from either Marvel Vs. Capcom, SFxT, or Megaman. That being said, I did end up voting for SFxT.
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Can someone do me a favor? on: April 09, 2012, 01:08:08 PM
This isn't going to happen easily at all, and that's making the assumption that this is even possible. The only characters who can be reliably ported are ones who have a base over Marth, Ike, Jigglypuff, or Metaknight. Or Shadow over Donkey Kong for that matter, but even that involved a lot of work. I found out Viewtiful Joe could be ported out of sheer dumb luck.

So yeah, this isn't going to happen, unfortunately.

Ok, I'm gone for about 3 months and this is what I come back to? This is extremely awesome, seriously. Great model and PSA, I'm not really sure what else to say about it...
7  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: SFX in Gecko on: November 23, 2011, 04:59:20 PM
I use Riivo myself, so this isn't a problem for me, but there's a way to do it. No gecko codes work with it so far though, that one hasn't been reliably figured out...

Take your brawl game that you use on USB, back it up, do whatever in case something goes wrong. Open it in Wiiscrubber and replace the smashbros_sound.brsar that's in there with the one that you've created, it's under the sound folder. Put it back on your USB drive once the replacement's done and it should be all good. Just use Gecko as usual.

Inb4Velen.

Thing is though, he never complained about it on the actual TvC model. And it's cool either way with the two swords or one. Even though it is supposed to be one sword. You work with Zero long enough and you become OCD about every detail; I got to that point with the TvC model.

At any rate, the portraits are awesome! And so is the OP, and just about anything else I haven't commented on. Wow I've been out of hacking for a while...

The most gentlemanly thing to do in this situation would be to create a dual-wielding Zero PSA. Smiley
9  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Beyonds Kitchen. tits Preview and Goku Previews on: November 08, 2011, 07:35:26 PM
At first, I wasn't sure about having the Megaman model import, someone already did a fairly good one: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=23436 But if it's a custom model, then it'd probably be worth it. Also, the PSA would also have to un-size mod the current import since it looks a bit funny, and there's no fingers.

However, I really hope AC Cloud doesn't win, the vertex is already better than most of them out there. Also, we have a KH1 model import now. I'm not sure if I'd rather have a Megaman model or a Scizor import...

Also, I never got to say this: Zero is awesome. Simply awesome. I'm at a of words for how great the model is and how well it works with Eldiran's PSA. Aside from the lagging of course. Beyond, you're too good at this, seriously.
10  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Error 500 (bandwidth issues), users moving to other forums on: October 15, 2011, 02:07:16 PM
I just got 7 503 errors and 2 500 errors in a row trying to send someone a PM. Is this really bad or is this still the norm? And it seems like BrawlVault is taking a lot longer to load than usual, if it doesn't just flat-out refuse. The 500 errors were starting to get really bad for me months ago...

Thank god I don't hack as much as I used to, but thanks for updating us on the situation.

11  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Beyonds Cardboard Workshop. Axl RELEASED, September 9th. on: September 10, 2011, 12:43:17 PM
ARE YOU INSANE?!

This is BEYOND we&#039;re talking about here.

He turned Falco into AXL.

He can definitely do it!

Shiek for me!

This man speaks the truth. So, so, much.

Now normally I'd say it'd be a good idea to make Trunks over Sheik, since there are much less hacks over Sheik as compared to Ike, Marth, or Link and it seems like it'd be a good base (hair, sword sheath). But if you did I'd never use it. Reason being the Spider-Man PSA.

I'd say if you're looking to make it PSA-friendly, Ike will probably be better 'cause of everything Mariodk mentioned, but otherwise Sheik seems like the way to go. I'm kinda leaning towards Ike myself, just 'cause of Spider-Man already having a PSA.

But it's your call and it'd be awesome either way.

Wow, all these are awesome, seriously. Thanks for taking my request, man. Too bad I can't actually use them until Tuesday...

Oh wow sorry about not clearing that up. Uh, as far as the style goes I mean your black kinda-gy border. It doesn't matter if you use the original portrait or not, that black border's just awesome. Or if you don't feel like it I can do it myself with a template...
14  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Portraits, Menus, (etc...) / Re: DSX8 CSP and SSS Portraits - More SSS and CSP's Added! Taking Requests! - 08/31 on: September 01, 2011, 06:36:09 PM
Heh, I'll change that for ya  AWESOME 2.0!

Can you do some icons in your style for the original Brawl stages? I only use custom stages in the stage expansion code and leave the originals intact, and your style actually looks better with ASF1nk's Blue SSS than the ones that come with it.

Oh, and if you can, the KC-MM Club, and Metal Mario stage. If you want any more to do, I'll let you know.

Either way in the rankings, this one's definitely up there. Since Ike seems to be all of a sudden epic (along with the Pokemon poses), this has gotta be done:
