RENAMING NOTES: I was originally going to add THP automation to my brstm copier (which uses GUI to correctly rename and place music hax on the SD and reads out remaining space), but i lost the save file in the 2TB HDD death. the categories will have the THP name in parenthesis
for this hack type, I will only take a maximum of 2 requests per day (the render times make it tedious to do)Requests queued: 0 | Projects queued: 0
I am fresh out of ideas to troll around with so until a youtube poop or something weird comes up I'm not making any THPs for now

*I don't know if it fits here better than the normal tutorial section, (such perfectionist when it comes to categorizing)
If it is pestering you that you MUST use smashbox, but you are on a 64-bit OS, follow this guide, it will enable you to utilize smashbox under 32-bit processing within the 64-bit OS
SHABAM! who said you can't use smashbox on 64-bit? I'd say otherwise, at least for those with windows 7 pro, ultimate, or enterprise.
*if you have windows 7 home premium, you can install virtual PC, install winXP, then set it up for smashbox use (but you won't be able to have it interact with the rest of your compter)
**If you already have 32-bit, DON'T bother with this guide, smashbox works fine in windows 7 alone if you have 32-bit
Notes: the smashbox "installer" will run silently then close, no window will open when you run it, but it only stays open for about 4 seconds and you don't need to choose any options on it anyway, so why have the need to click next when you can just launch it and done with no interaction?
so before reading on, this tutorial will ONLY work for you at all if you are running windows 7 (except starter), it will NOT work for windows vista ultimate and older.
download links used in tutorial:
Smashbox installer (silent) [used for allowing you to boot it under xp outside the virtual machine, simply copying smashbox will not let it boot from windows 7] VirtualPC Windows XP mode (32-bit, this is what will be processing smashbox in windows 7 64-bit) Net Framework [ 1.01.1 2.03.03.13.5 ]
====checking your edition of windows====
1) go to start and type Anytime Upgrade press enter.
and check your edition of windows 7, if it reads professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise, then go to next step, if not, you can upgrade now from this screen (NOT FREE, unless you have the upgrade key, and don't bother pirating either, because to get virtual PC or winXP mode, the site will check for genuine windows), or follow this guide until you reach *your end*, but you won't get interaction with the whole computer in smashbox
once you confirmed your edition:
====Downloading virtual PC====
**If you are one of the qualified editions**
(you need to select the 64 bit version of your edition of windows 7 for it to let you install XP mode)
2) return to the site in step 1 and download and install windows XP mode
3) XP mode is a preactivated windows XP professional, there are no worries here unlike those following the home premium part
REAL step 3) go to the top of this post and download ALL the net framework versions up to V4 (V4 is part of windows update so be sure to run that as well in windows XP mode)
5) open windows Virtual PC, bringing up a folder instead of the program and right click windows XP mode and select settings
6) Turn off the following: Network features (this is to disconnect it from the internet to avoid internet-based attacks to the virtual machine) undo disks Optical drives
7) (OPTIONAL) Go to start>all>windows Virtual PC>windows XP mode applications>Smashbox>(create a shortcut to smashbox where you wish with the program in there)
test if it works, if it does, then YAY you can boot smashbox in windows 7 64-bit and it will be processed by windows XP 32-bit, it can interact with the rest of the computer, so use it like you would if you were on a 32-bit OS without this mumbo jumbo
7) if smashbox gives an error of any kind before it opens up, make sure you have ALL framework versions under V4 installed
(it may be annoying to flip drives back and forth between the 2 machines to use smashbox, but hey, it works, try finding your own, creative way to flip-flop the drives between windows 7 and the virtual machine)
Don't believe me? feel like being a troll? well I troll you back with the following evidence that this will work: watch video
(hope you can add a note about running smashbox under windows 7 pro 64-bit for those who insist to use it, because I have got it to work on my 64 bit machine)
OH, I see. That's what the loop point is. What i thought it was at first was like the work in Audacity i did trying to get it to sound like it looped, and it would cut off the beginning and end of the whole song. Yeah, that's pretty nifty ... I'll see what else i can do with that.
Thanks, you helped me learn the true meaning of a loop point.
EDIT: By the way, i put yours as the download link since it IS your loop thing. Hope you don't mind.
Makes more sense to use an existing like rather than re-upload....
I use sony ACID to edit and test the loop points (I don't need to touch the end loop setting)
I already went back through the song and noticed i left about a half second blank area at the beginning. But if you have something completely different, i'd like to hear it.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?a9x0dplwy3aoxgp Loop points were modified
nice... I am uploading my christmas hacks as well hey!, there is at least ONE song that I can improve the loops on, would you like me to improve on them for you?
ok then, you can still do this, the ONLY barrier is that you will need to have a flash drive designated to be your flip-flopping tether to move files between the virtual machine and windows 7

**I still reply to posts here

you should see success when it work with the sounds
go to windows anytime upgrade, it should tell you, if you are not any of the listed, you can upgrade to one of them without messing up *any* of your files and preferences I made sure I got my hands on the pro upgrade kit when I got my new laptop (which all of them in the store were 64-bit)
now test in the virtual machine if smashbox boots without error
if this passes, "turn off" the virtual machine and go (in windows 7) to:
start>all programs>windows virtual PC>Windows XP mode applications>Smashbox>Smashbox.exe (create a shortcut to this where you please)
when you do that, smashbox will run under windows XP 32-bit in it's own window and tab in windows 7 (you can now use the program like you would normally)
(keep in mind, in the settings in virtual PC, turn OFF the network tethering/sharing so internet-based exploits(viruses) cannot attack the computer using xp mode as the loophole gateway (only the application you run will have any interaction with the computer)
Sadly, The Wave IDs are what got me to the point of confusion. I can't decide which sound is what. I tried doing 1 to whatever and 0 to whatever. No matter what, it's all the same: Silent Falco.
BUT, as I said, on each sound, is the desired thing it's to replace.
Ex.: "Personally, I prefer the air!" would be replaced by "THAT'S IT! NOW I'M MAD!!"
I will examine the specs of each file, If they high size/frequency is to blame, I will modify them and send them back to you (because that is what usually causes silence (even though smashbox plays it))
(at least provide the quotes/sound names - and i can try to guess where you want them)
