I feel like this information could potentially be useful, but I haven't tried it yet. By switching Icon ID's between a Custom stage and a regular Brawl stage, you can work around those pesky origin icons that are linked to other stages. For example, if I wanted to make Rainbow Cruise have its classic Melee Mushroom Icon, but not let Delfino Plaza be effected, switch its Icon ID with STGCUSTOM01, and edit common5 accordingly, then put a Mario stage on STGCUSTOM01, like Mewtwo2000's Peach's Courtyard/Castle. Sorry if I didn't make much sense, I can be bad at explaining things sometimes. *EDIT* Tested, and it works! *EDIT 2* Alternatively, you can set a certain regular stage to match the Icon ID of one of the last expansion slots, then remove that stage from the roster. Will test this when I can.
They're similar, but OoT's is more detailed. This is the one from OoT. In models resource I went to OoT and downloaded Link, but it looked like the SSB one. This sure looks better to me.
Link and Mario both have a lower-poly model, for when the camera zooms out too far for high-poly details to show properly. for example, Mario's nose becomes more square-ish, and overall looks blocky. Link has it too, but it's less noticeable.
Sweet! btw, do you plan on rigging playable characters for this stage, as well? It would be nice to have, say Banjo over Mario or Mumbo over Toon Link xD
okay, wrong. its hard to import models. they don't make them "quickly", seeing that it is really hard. it is also har dot make. which is why even the best hackers have trouble. how about you take a model and import it in 5 mins? that isnt easy. dont say these things without even trying
[/rant]
Sorry. I heard it was easy, and I guess that was a rude thing to say, especially since I haven't made so much as a single vertex hack around here.
I should probably add that to the post, and one thing is the "SM64" Mario model the SSB64 Mario model?
No. It's the model from SM64. Anyways, somebody really needs to import Mario's hair. even without this PSA, he takes it off for one of his taunts. Too many people want to import their favorite characters as quickly as possible, and end up giving it a half-arsed effort.
Well, not really...I'm bad at rig model, i know nothing.
Aside from that, Mewtwo, you actually got FS eyes working. to my knowledge, nobody else has done this with an import, so I'd say I'm more excited for your Link (KTH, I still think you're awesome! I really did not mean any offense whatsoever! DX)
Sure I do. And I might end up doing adult Link too. The world of character imports is interesting
Sure is. how easy is it, anyways? Like, considering that I'm gonna download a student version of 3ds Max soon, how easy would it be for a noob like me? Also, do I get 2010, 2011, or 2012?
SM64 Model is out. I'm gonna try this PSA with it real quick. EDIT: Other than slight disfigurement during some animations, the only problems I have with it are:
Wait animation. He looks like he's squatting
Victory Taunt 1. If FLUDD isn't Necessary anymore, maybe she could be replaced with the Key?
Victory Taunt 2 & 3. Mario's hair has not been imported, so he looks ridiculous.
Most of his Animations (especially his victories and waits) need to be slowed down
It makes sense if it is. iirc, someone was requesting a PokéMon Stadium 2 stage, or it was in his plans already. Either way, what better PokéMon to put in the background than Mewtwo himself? Ripped straight from the game? Still, textures look a bit weird. '~'
