You guys are geniuses. That seriously needs to happen on such an oh-my-gosh level.

Seg, what's the best way I can get this template out to folks without accidentally breaking some rule?

Thread? Vault Entry? Post a link in the WIP?

Edit:

*Stuff*

I know nobody's saying much, but props on at least FINISHING something. That's always the hard part.

Keep practicing, LISTEN TO CRITICISM (this one's important! It's golden!), keep finishing. You'll progress quickly.

Yay! Two things!

One, I finished a bone mod that allows Human-sized (I.E. not Dedede-wide) characters to be rigged over Dedede, one-slot. That's going to be used for something else later, but would anyone want this as a template?

(This model's a super 10-minute thing that actually isn't going to be used for anything. Just there to test the bones.)

Two, Ristar's rig is mostly done, and the expressions work fine, but I think there's so many bone mods on the model that Brawl is outright rejecting some of them, lol. I'm going to see If I can fix that. In any case, it's rigged as I want it to be. 1/2 Sonic's height, wide shoulders, large legs, Sonic's spines used to make Ristar's star ends move.

(Ignore the normals here, old version of BB)

I have the one from FusionFall.

I don't think it's T-Posed though.

Wahay, Tentacruel Man! Nabunaga!

Yay! Just where have you been, SJS? We've missed you.

I have a problem, not sure if it can be remedied. I'm making a Ganondorf PSA and the moveset file has become too large through making new animations. Is there a way to make brawlbox compress the files more so that the file is under the allowed size?
Even though a lot of the animations I've replaced are now shorter the filesize is larger. Shame really, I may not be able to change the grabs.

Hit the clean button on ALL of the animations. ALL of them.

You might get lucky and find the developers were lazy with their keyframes like they are with Samus. You can clear up TONS of space in Samus's animations if you hit clean on all the animations.

If the filesize allows it, I say go for it. (Ristar ftw!)

I did. The model is really lowpoly, so there's more than enough space.

I've already set it up to accept expressions, so I just need to finish texturing the rest of them.

That could be fixed by changing the material properties to "Clamp", since that's how it was on the original model.

Oh man. So that's how it works? What exactly does "Clamp" do? Does it simply not allow wrapping of textures?

The UVs of the Body for WFT+ wrapped back around from the top, so the stomach appeared fragmented and multicolored. Even though I "fixed" it, it was still a rather ghetto workaround.

That would also make sense that it doesn't allow wrapping in the cases of the chest logo. KTH, if you want that fixed go ahead and set that material to "clamp" like RTB said.

Wow! Things make sense now! Thanks RTB.

You forget something on WFT.
The logo of Wii Fit on his shirt, the UV is weird.

I didn't forget it, I thought it looked cool.

Speaking of UVs, I need to bother BJ about these models. The ones from Wii Fit Plus exported with UVs that were somewhat trashed. I fixed the parts I didn't like.

I really like the Subspace Amalgam #2

Hey, thanks!
205  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: July 07, 2013, 02:05:07 PM
I'll try my hand at it, I was actually talking about Rister with a friend yesterday so it's kinda ironic and funny. Dunno when I'd actually get to the texture, as I'm working on other stuff as well, but I'd like to at least offer.

That'd be pretty sweet. I'll take you up on that.

I'm done with the rig, now. I was thinking though, it actually might be cool to give Ristar some expressions since he's on Sonic. What do you guys think?
206  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: July 06, 2013, 08:42:02 PM
[censored] yes. Been wanting some Ristar.
Someone needs to give him a sexy texture Im srs here

Anybody wanna take that challenge on? Because if no one does I'm going to have to do it myself and I'm not sure how pretty that will be. This model really needs it.
207  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: July 06, 2013, 08:21:36 PM
I posted my preview, and then it's just people tlking about the Mega Man custom model, no comment on my Luigi. xD

I'm not gonna lie. Totally thought you were the same guy with the Luigi as the guy who did the Luigi with the socks. I'm probably not the only one who did that.

ALSO. Libertyernie totally released a Planet Flora stage and I completely remembered that I had completely forgetten that I had completely T-Posed this guy:

So uh. Yeah. Heavily modified Sonic. Gonna see if I can work the spines to give movement to Ristar's starfish ends.

Lastly, for those of you who know what Cat Girl Without Salad is, the skeleton for that is done. Just arranging together the polygons for easy rigging.
208  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: July 06, 2013, 12:55:28 PM
Completely new helmet model.

So that's pretty good for a first model.

If you want some good practice though, try to do what you just did but start with mostly Geospheres instead of squares. It's good practice.

If you want to jump directly into hard mode just build from scratch using extruding. But that's a big jump. Just try the geospheres for now.

It does define material placement (I just checked), the program you're using just isn't importing it properly. Anyway, it uses the eye white texture.

Aww. That's unfortunate.

Is there an exact file name?

EDIT:

FOUND IT.

It was in the eye Iris. Thanks for the help, Peardian!
