Oooo, an update. Mighty fine looking stuff there. Only adding to my hype from these hacks.
For my own personal entertainment, I'm actually taking a look at Awakening Marth's Falchion and sheathe, trying to get it to look a bit closer to its in-game design. A bit tough not having the textures get all screwed on me though. I'll post some previews when I feel I've made some progress worth showing. Also considering molding it into other blades from FEA as well, i.e. a Rapier, Iron/Steel/Silver Sword, ect. I'll have to think those through though.
Got it! Just played until I reached chapter 4, and it's awesome so far. However the shop where I preordered the game hasn't received the artbooks yet (the game is released this friday)
Gamestop [censored] up my preorder with the US artbook, so I'm gonna import the hardcover Japanese ver. But I heard the European artbook differs from both the US and JPN book to a decent extent, should be great for referencing though, just wish someone would make a decent high-res scan of any of the 3 [censored] books.
Sorry, been kinda busy last week. It shouldn't take long, I'll try to finish it tonight. Here's a teaser showing the finished short hair model
Also, 4 DAYS.
Looking great. Very much like both the art and CG model. I've been thinking... Now I kinda want some bits of Lucina to be rigged onto Marth now, new hair, boots and Falchion. Think with some elbow grease it'd help him look even closer to awakening. Maybe I'll try that myself in the future and see how it goes.
I haven't actually gotten all the characters, including most of the children, which is why I just started a new game (), but what if someone made the avatar character(s)? It would basically be two fairly similar models, with different heads and hair styles, then the rest would just be recolors. It probably sounds like a lot, I know, but it could be pretty cool for each person to be able to use their own character in SSB as well. Just an idea.
I agree wholeheartedly. I've wanted that to happen since Awakening's JPN release, but I had no way to start it myself. Anyways, I think the most optimal way would be making the default models. From there one can easily retexture the hair and/or face for some more variety like in Awakening. Or go a step further and try at remodeling the hair for further variety.
For some reason, I'm beginning to detect a pattern in the answers. Anyways, thank you kindly for the response, was just wondering how far and to where this program is going.
i haven't needed to give out a single cent, and although i do have some ARRGH stuff, it's perfectly doable being legal and for free, since both 3ds max and maya have student versions i think, and gimp is a good free alt for photoshop. and not even the proffesional people do all the work for a game in one single program inb4tcllaboutblender.
Blender... Yeah, not my best experience there. Anyways, any threads on the kc-forums(or elsewhere) that give some guidance to the programs? I've already got Photoshop, but the trial on my 3DSm expired. Not sure how the whole 'student version' works. I'd like to try my hand at making at least one decent hack before Kerfuffle comes out.
「Melee hacking, while far less popular, is still around and about I think. And that's a game from mother[censored] 2001. The only reason it ain't so popular is because Brawl is far more versatile in terms of modding. I'm sure well after Super Smash Bros 4: Kerfuffleis out, people will still be playing and looking for ways to 'improve' Brawl. That is, unless Kerfuffle's modding is somehow more convenient, but I'd doubt that.」
Anyways, one question here. I'm not very experienced in mods beyond some basic texture hacking, music editing, and some coding, so I'm not sure how sound this question is. But will BB ever reach the point where most things will become streamlined? Namely model vertex edits and imports on characters and stages, all in a single program, rather than having to convert and edit it in 2-3+ programs.
I've always wanted to get more into modding, I just lack the tools and resources.
Wouldn't the model from MGS3 be better if you are going for that design of Snake? As it is a bit more high poly and nicer looking...
Well, there's quite a contrast between his Peace Walker and MGS3 models.
Facial structure, and facial hair. His mullet is longer. The uniform itself having a different vest as well as the MSF shoulder pads, things like that. Personally, I've always liked PW the best, it's supposedly when BB was in his prime-the top of his game.
