Just downloaded Sora and he looks fantastic, truly excellent work there, but I was wondering what kind of problems arise if you don't use the motion.pac and what I would have to take from it if I wanted to use Sora in Brawl+ (Marth already has a motionetc for that)
Sorry for double post, but I tried something. I don't have access to an SD drive right now (stupid stone age vaio) and was just wondering if this sounds like it will work...
-Basically what I did was opened both motionetc in Brawl Box. -I went through to each animation changed in the first motionetc and added in the newnode from the same animation in Pik's motionetc. -Then I exported these modified animations and placed them into Pik's motionetc.
What do you mean by "do it from scratch" exactly? I was under the impression that the size mod just came from an animation for a renamed bone?
I know you're busy but if I were to send you the motionetc I'm trying to get the size mod merged to do you think you could just take a look and if nothing else let me know what the most efficient way to merge them would be? Feel free to tell me to [censored] off
Did you put them into the common3.pac? All of the items go in the same file so you need to open the common3.pac and individually replace the items with the ones you downloaded.
Could someone tell me what part of the motionetc included with Pik's Young Link is necessary for the hack to work properly so I can add it to another motionetc?
Could someone help me out and explain how I would go about taking the part of the Young Link motionetc that allows the size mod and add it to another Link motionetc (I'm trying to add it to a motionetc for Brawl+ that also has Link's multi-stab jab)
I'm pretty well versed in Brawl Box and I'm assuming it's just a simple export-import job, I just don't know what needs to be exported.
If Pik or someone else could help me out (and preferably pop me a PM) I would be eternally grateful!
I don't know why I haven't checked your stuff out yet, it's all just drop dead gorgeous! Good luck on all of your projects, there's not one that isn't pretty much already an insta-download for me (except Zidane.... god I hate Zidane)
I would suggest paying more attention to the details of your textures, in particular Fox's mouth and Marth's hands. The way you did Fox's mouth, for instance, makes it pretty clearthat you just monochromed Fox's whole head, which is fine, but I think it would look a lot more pro if you changed the color of his teeth and possibly his tongue. As for Marth's hands, since you just made them flat white there's no definition and they look very strange. You should go back and add some gray in spots to give them more definition.
Why would you all tell him to give up? Good hacks (of any kind) take time. It's not easy to make an import, true. Howevern you shouldn't quit just because the going gets tough.
I'm not suggesting that he quit at all, I'm suggesting a method that would not only be easier but most likely turn out a lot better. Plus I know I for one would not replace anyone but Charizard with Chamander and I'm sure a lot of other people feel the same. If you want to make him different from 'Zard (which I totally encourage) making him out of 'Zard and making a new PSA would be the best route imo. I think not making Charmander one of Poke Trainer's pokemon would be a mistake.
I've never messed with any of this sort of thing so take this with a huge grain of salt, but it seems like it would be MUCH easier for you to use the ripped Charmander model as a reference for a vertex mod of Charizard, that way you wouldn't have to mess with making animations from scratch and all of the headaches of importing models.
If you talk to BeyondYou or Pik they could probably help you make a one-slot size mod like the ones they used for Viewtiful Joe and Young Link and fom there it would probably just be a matter of getting rid of the wings (Gamewatching, iirc, got this done for his Charmeleon) modding the arms, shrinking the neck and modifying the face.
I'm sure it would still be a ton of work, but it seems like it would be MUCH easier and more successful that what you're attempting now.
