I am sooooo happy someone's finally working on a Poke Floats (although that Scyther seems a bit... large lol) can't wait and best of luck on that.
I feel like the original version of Yoshi's Underground could use a makeover. I think the layout is fantastic and it's one of my favorites to play on, but I feel like it could really benefit from thinks like moving the mushroom stalks to the background and fixing up the seam between the far left and middle sections of the stage.
For combining custom items it's just opening the common3's in brawlbox and just exporting and importing until what you want is all in the same file. You can usually tell what each item is by previewing it's texture file.
I don't know what you mean about the hammer bros though, assist trophies aren't handled by the common 3, they're separate files and you can only have one at a time.
Zebes looks so impressive. Acid's looking all kinds of funky but I'm sure you'll get it down by release, but other than that I think this is your most impressive stage yet!
And as I said earlier, I have no mods what so ever, other then the Sephiroth over Marth mod and the CSP over Marth. That is it. Nothing else.
I would just re-download those things, format your SD card and put the newly downloaded files on there. Sounds to me like something is or was corrupt and could have messed up your card, but reformatting should fix it.
Yes, I just wanted to make sure that when you do go into custom stage maker stack smash starts and reboots the game.
Ragna will probably be the easiest to get running. Just make sure that you have the pcs file in private/wii/app/rsbe/pf/fighter/ike and that it is named fitike00.pcs. Make SURE it's a pcs file and not a pac file, having the pac alone will NOT make the texture work.
Out of curiosity, why are you using Stack Smash AND Gecko? It's been a while since I used Gecko, but iirc, you just choose that app from Homebrew Channel to run the game, I never smashes the stack. Are you trying to do this without Homebrew Channel?
If not my experience is very limited, but just to make sure, you are actually activating stack smash right? In other words, you know you have to actually start a game, activate stack smash (can't remember how, sorry) and have the game restart, right?
Just to clarify, you're only replacing single portraits right? (i.e. you're not trying to put in an entire pre-made set of portraits)
What you should do is download a fresh sc_selcharacter.pac from the vault.
-Find/make some CSPs. If you're going to use pre-made ones they should already be the correct dimensions and their palettes should be the right size, but if you want to make sure follow the next step
-If you're making them yourself, open one of the default portraits from sc_selcharacter in gimp/photoshop/whatever (find a portrait, right click, click "export") --Delete the existing portrait and paste in whatever picture you want to use, then resize it to fit. ---(This next part is for gimp, since that's what I use, but I'm assuming it's the same for photoshop) go to mode>color>indexed. That will bring up a window where you can choose how many colors you want the picture to have. I pretty much always use around 150-180, but you can play around until you get it as low as possible while still looking nice. Save it as a png.
-Open sc_selcharacter in Brawl Box and click the "+" next to the blue box, this will give you a drop down of a bunch of files that you can expand which hold the CSPs. Find the one you want to replace, right click it, pick "replace" and choose the CSP you want instead. Brawl Box will automatically index the CSP, but if you don't index it yourself it may make it look shoddy. --Go ahead and save your changes to the sc_selcharacter, exit and have a go.
Sorry if I'm repeating stuff you know, I just wanted to make sure I gave the whole process that's worked for me.
1) It's definitely possible to have all of your csp replaced (I used to have all but the default portraits replaced) ssp are a little more difficult since you'd actually be adding more, but if you index the previews to a low enough color count and cut enough other stuff out of the sc_selmap it should be ok, theoretically.
2) It's completely possible to do your hacks by modding a downloaded brawl and loading it in either of the ways you mentioned, from what I understand that's how it was done when all of this business first started. I would definitely suggest going usb loader if you decide to take this route, because otherwise you'll have to burn a new disc every time you change something, which will get really time consuming and expensive.
if your Wii has any specs of homebrew on it. Nintendo WILL NOT REPAIR YOUR WII. By modding it, you void the warrenty and any chance of repair. Free or Paid
Do you have any proof of this because everything I've ever heard (and I did a lot of research when I bricked my Wii) is that as long as it's not HARD modded Nintendo will just remove any hacks and update the firmware (if it's under warranty they'll probably make you pay for the repair though. Only if the Wii's been cracked open and physically hacked will they not fix it.
FYI, offering money for requests is probably not a good idea btw. It's unlikely, but possible that it could get people in trouble, even if you're joking.
Sorry, I misread. Take this with a grain of salt, since I too am currently struggling with this damned code, but I would suggest trying the rels provided for Final Destination or Wi Fi Waiting Room.
Would you mind posting a link to where you got this stuff from?
