The new characters look awesome.  Is it possible to get a transparent Wario Man render?  And is there by any chance a render of Wario Man with the hand gesture like the others?
I would love a transparent render of your latest Sonic render :3

Enjoy guys. Sorry, but we didn't render Wario Man in the other pose. Hope the regular render is alright.

Sonic's eyes were glitching (got kinda dark) on Battlefield after the stage's lighting changes. Regular Brawl Battlefield.
Did you download Sonic before or after we applied the "fix"? If memory serves, the newer eyes are a bit darker than pure white, but they shouldn't bug out.

Wrong site? Tongue
It's what happens when I have baby-sitting duty while trying to post a thread.

Fox's eyes have been updated now, so they shouldn't bug out. Or freeze.

Grettings KCMM,

Recently, it has come to our teams attention that someone has been re-posting our work to a facebook page and claiming it as their own. They don't link to our thread, they don't link to our blog, and they are acting like our project and their's are one and the same. They even translated posts made by me and Taiko, word for word, into spanish, then added a small sentence about how their project is the same as ours.

Naturally, we contacted this person and told them to credit us properly and link to our thread. Instead of doing that they are posting our work and saying which of us worked on it and then adding themselves as part of the team. They still don't link to our thread or our blog and are pretending like they have a hand in what we do. This is not what we asked them to do, and we've since requested that they stop re-posting our work, credit or otherwise. They've ignored this request and so I am posting publicly about this so everyone knows what's going on.

They have deleted facebook posts that link to our thread and ignore our requests, so I am taking the liberty of posting this so everyone is aware of the situation. To make matters worse, it's not only our teams work that is being stolen but those of other members of the Brawl modding community and Project M as well. If you've made a Brawl mod or know someone who does, notify them to check this guys page for their work because it may have been stolen.

This person is a thief and we would just like those that do not know to be aware of this fact. Thank you all, and have a good day.

That outta the way
I know you guys are making a pack full of your stuff, but are you also planning to make a CSS as well when this is all over?
Maybe? Who knows. We'll see.

Thanks all for the comments. And, again, should we include the HUD in the pack? If so, which version?

Give us a minute to resolve an issue we've been having with theft first please. Hopefully we can solve it quietly, but if not...you guys will know.

Also, for those having Fox eye problems, we applied a patch to his individual and pack download files so go grab him again if you experienced the spazzy eyes on Delfino.

Thanks again for all the feed-back, everyone.

Is there a way I can add all these costumes for some characters without give the other characters blank spaces?
There's this thing called "cBliss". You should check it out. Thread

Bowser is actually getting a new model (IIRC) and texture update. The Bowser they released was kind of a "beta" thing.
You remember correctly.

Great work guys. They are starting to look like their SSB4 Style now.

Are you guys also updating Ike's model? Are you guys also going to add more costumes to all of the characters as well?

Extra colors is something we're going to try to do for the other characters. Unsure if we'll get to them all though. We do have some updates planned for a few of the older characters, but I don't know if we'll get to them.

As for the Progress chart, I'll just say that any characters being reverted to silhouettes is very intentional.

Which characters do you guys plan on redoing?
Some of them.

Sorry for the non-commital answer, but our plans change a lot so it's better for me to say "someone" rather than give you specifics and have to backtrack on them.

I saw the chart for Smash 3 and Sonic had a RIP in it if you look at it closely. What do they mean by this?
It's just an in-joke for our team. We've been trying to update Sonic's model for a very long time now, but keep running into snags any time we come close to finishing it.

Would anyone be willing to post comparison shots between the Smash 3 textures and the normal brawl ones?

Brawl -

Smash 3 -

Quickest way for a comparison is to just check screen shots of Brawl versus the screenshots uploaded to each characters Vault entry
10  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Repository of Modding Tips on: August 21, 2014, 12:03:29 AM
Hello everyone.

I'm making this thread as a place for people to just drop some general tips for others. It's not meant to be a "ask for help" type of thing, but more of a "This is useful to know" kind of place. It's meant to cover pretty much every aspect of modding, right down to interacting with other users so if you've got something useful to share please do.

I'm not trying to write tutorials here, just give folks a platform to spout random modding tips.

As a general house rule, if you disagree with a tip for whatever reason just post your own tip on the same topic. No need to call people out on their methods, and who knows? Both tips might end up helping different people.

I'll begin with a few myself to get the ball rolling.

Giving advice
A good thing to remember is that we all have very different taste in things. Try to get an idea for what someone is trying to accomplish with their mod and suggest things that'd help them do that. It can be difficult sometimes, especially if you don't particularly like the direction a mod is going in, but feedback from people who don't like what you're doing, but understand what you're trying to do can be really helpful.

Texture degradation
A good thing to be aware of is that the more you edit a texture via hue/saturation, the more it'll degrade. It'll lose details and become muddy which doesn't look good. So what I like to do is experiment a lot with colors until I find ones I like, then redo the whole thing from scratch using the "right" colors the first time.

The color white
Just try to stick to a level the same as Peach or Marth's white costumes to be safe.

No need to follow this format for posting tips, just post something you think will help someone out.

I guess I might as well share a few reasons to why the smash 3 HUD freezes people.

1. File Patch Code Version, or the code itself could be corrupted

2. Other codes may be causing the info.pac to freeze, that's what happened to me. I had the Replacement Soundbank Engine v1.20 and that code was causing the freezing, once I took it off it was fine

3. Corrupted file, meaning while you downloaded it, it just happened to get corrupted during the process or somewhere during extraction. There may be a corrupted texture in info.pac

4. Used the wrong one.

I also noticed that both the brawl version and project m version are actually the exact same. I looked under the in-game names for the brawl version, I found mewtwo and roy in there. You guys should check that out. I used brawlbox to view them
This is helpful.

I did not know some of the other codes could cause info.pac to crash, thanks.

As far as using the wrong one, it shouldn't matter terribly much. I did extensive testing with both and ran into no issues in Brawl or P:M. The Roy file is extra, while the file name for Mewtwo replaces what is an unused entry for Pokemon Trainer. it should work fine, but if you run into some bizarre glitches I'll check it out when I get a chance.
12  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Awakening Marth v2.0 on: July 15, 2014, 08:51:10 AM
My first priority right now is to see the completed models imported (Both Radiant Dawn Ikes and Awakening Marth). I'd like to touch up Lucina and Hero Ike a bit though, considering I have better references now that the're both confirmed for Smash 4.
If you get around to updating Hero Ike, let me know. I've been trying to do better textures for a better model but every attempt ends with no progress getting made.

I do not see the problem with Lucina fighting like Marth. Her entire character is based on her being "female Marth". This makes a ton of sense as far as I'm concerned. Fact that she probably took a 1/6th of normal character dev time is icing on the cake.
13  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: The Smash 3 Project - Page 33 Announcement! on: June 17, 2014, 04:47:37 PM
i thought I had fixed the sonic gen model back when i was in the skype chat
'Twas the Final Smash model you got working and it was using a flawed version of the Gen Sonic model that we didn't realize until after we went back to look at his normal model.

So everyone knows, see, around May a lot of our core team members had some long term commitments (with one of us being hospitalized and out of business). That being said, we're still going to finish, but it's just taking us a lot longer than we initially planned because Real Life doesn't like us very much. Thank you all for your patience.
14  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Awakening Marth v2.0 on: May 29, 2014, 12:57:19 PM
Hey, is Hero Ike finished yet? I'd like to play as him due to that design being used for Smash 4.
You'll have to keep waiting I'm afraid. There is another model in the works though.

I hate to sound impatient but how is the progress on Awakening Marth? Is he almost finished because he looks amazing. As for Hero Ike, I can tell it won't be too soon before he is released.
The primary crew working on it have all but vanished from this site in general. I'm afraid I've no idea if Awakening Marth will ever be released.

I think jjookkeekkiidd's Ike looks amazing. And if the Smash 3 team agrees to texture him, he'll be even better.
Wink
