What BJ said

Fighter.pac is the main file, it has wverything that controls the characters.  Atm is not possible to edit it just like "hey lets edit it"

The only way to edit it is to inject the commands using codes named ASM fighter.pac injection codes.

Very nice!

Finding the floating points without the parameter names will be no problem as fresh/original file will have default floatings which will help us know what parameter is the floating point we seeking.  But yeah that def answers my question ^,^

Edit:

What I like more about your post is that you chose Yoshi as your preview example :-)
198  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 92.57% complete on: June 08, 2012, 08:58:01 PM
Yoshi's article floating points

I know you said something about being able to edit these floating point like we do with attributes, but will it be available to us in the next version of brawlbox?

I so need to do this, and I can't seem to make yoshi not get momentum while he is doing the up b, and HxD isn't helping, now yoshi cannot fall when he jumps and floats 4ever.

Kryal, long time since I see you around the modding community, how has it been?
199  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 92.57% complete on: June 06, 2012, 09:01:11 AM
Completly sure

Thats how I gave breakable throws a go.

Every fighting game has tech-throws which prevents the foe from being thrown if he inputs the throw command.

If I add my throw break PSA mechanic to C.Falcon, Falcon himself won't be able to tech the throws but the rest of the cast will if they are against C.Falcon and he throws them.

Now people get hype'd!  More psa awesomeness :-).

Edit:

And about "it's already possible, the problem is the opponent animation"

If they can be grabbed already and the problem is that, then I see no problem.

If they can be grabbed, just ticked with the coresponding subaction which is the one the opponent is during the grab, and do some psa events there and give a on/off switch with "if events" and "variables" and then go to the opponents .pac (yes.... All the roster) and make them have a use for that on/off switch and they will respond well when being thrown by the new throws.

I have not yet found any easier solution, but this is all I got.

if special grabs is going to be possible i also hope it will be possible to make the grapped invisible (like if you get them into a ball or getting eated)

you can make foes invisible right now via PSA.

the thrownB/F/U/D animations control the opponent

if you put in a ThrownB subaction "add/subtrack damage and put it -10 the foe will be Healed.  If you put generate item and pick up item the foe will grab the item generated.  And for what you asked, just put the visibility event and tickle with visibility events.

hope this can help you out

Oh! BlackJax! This question just popped up in my mind. With the upcoming BB, will it be possible to give a character the ability to have a Special grab move? Like giving Mario Ganondorf's Side Special for example.

since being able to add new sub actions and actions will be a feature in the new BB, ur question answer would be yes.
202  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 92.57% complete on: June 04, 2012, 04:13:44 PM
the % thing can already be done by tickling with this "variables"

And all the stuff you said in the post are common stuff which just need proper "If" commands and insert the damage variable on them (via comparison methods)

EDIT:

as for the articles, I can't tell if it's going to be done for this real time moveset editor, but I'm sure that by version .69 it would be available as version .68 witll be for REFF

I have used all versions of brawlbox (from 63d to 66b) and idk, I'm getting errors while making brstm files

must be my laptop that is dying I guess.
204  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 90% complete on: June 01, 2012, 12:06:03 PM
I'm getting errors also on making brstm audio files.  Can't explain why as, I'm not getting error reports everytime, sometimes the program just closes.
205  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 90% complete on: May 29, 2012, 09:27:18 PM
Re-pointing something I said a while back:

Hurtboxes in bb.66b show, but are glitchy in how the preview (you have to click hurtboxes but they won't show just by doing that, clicking away of the model tends to oreview em after clicking "show hurtboxes") also changes o the hurtboxes don't reflect when pressing enter or changing values, same method as above, clicking away from the models tends to show changes done to the hurtbox.  Highlighting has the same issue.

Replacing an animation doesn't show that is replaced, but if you skip on frame or click another animation and then re-click the replaced one then it shows the replaced animation without any problem.

I can't remember anything else I want to point for now, but here is something else:

Right clicking a mdl0 thing in brawlbox let us export/replace/import them or even rename it, would sub action "main"/"gfx"/"sfx"/"other" tabs will be able to be replaced/imported/exported ?  Cause it would let me create new techniques like air dashing (like mvc3) dashf or dashb like in mvc3 also, and other techniques I have already created that I like implementing to characters via psa.

I also know that the psa copy/paste thing will also be available in here, but with the export thing I can archive the mechanics and keep track of them.

Thanks in advance ^,^

Edit:

Ipod typing is crazy...

Don't use Dant's old program for BRSTMS. Use libertyernie's BRSTM Converter. It's faster, better, etc., etc., and it also lets you control volume and sample rate.

Thread is already 90% spam.

Can't understand the program, don't know how to even select looping points.  I'll stay with converting to .wav and brawlbox I guess.

EDIT 2:

idk whats wrong but... I cannot make brstms anymore with brawlbox O.o...  maybe is a fault in my pc as, I tried brawlbox 63d and all future brawlboxes and nothing works.  The play fine in the new brstm audio, but when I try to skip the player to hear some looping points onwards... I get an error T_T let me see if I can get the error report  y,y

You can do that with this program, in case you didn't know:
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=241578&

I have it since release and I didin't knew about this... (I should do my homework more often...)

But can I loop them also?
207  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 80.03% complete on: May 26, 2012, 08:23:40 AM
Being able to make brstm out of .mp3 format would be nice.

BJ is such an inspiration O.o...

if I go to Florida and find a job there, trust me, I will donate something Smiley (why no now?, I am poor and job-less)
209  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 80.03% complete on: May 25, 2012, 12:17:02 PM
yeah only 19.97% left now
i hope you will get some progress on brawlbox in the weekend

heh we've been psaing for a long time ^^.  But I do not upload many psa as I'm very picky lol ^^

and I tend to do more smash character related, but with added mechanics which changes the game flow ^^

if only all of us PSA people would unite one day and do a big thing out of brawl which many could enjoy Smiley

Let this happen after new brawlbox comes in ofc. Smiley
210  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Programming / Re: Brawlbox Stuff - Moveset Rebuilder about 80.03% complete on: May 25, 2012, 09:09:51 AM
I will have to rebuild 20 of the psa work I have done to make the
Mechanics I added to the game true.

The mechanics could be fighter.pac injected but I did it psa hard coded as idk how to make asm codes *sigh*

BJ will save the day of psa users :-)

And applying this mechanics to characters will be a blast with "export" "replace" features :-)
