Heh, funny, but the reason you're leaving us is basically the same as mine. Atleast, what I tried to accomplish for monthes now. We're both shy and want to become more outgoing IRL, seem to have time-managing issues, and never had a gf.

I can totally relate to you. Except that I never was able to leave the communities I was in, and right now, I'm basically facing a life/identity crysis because of it. You're still young, SDoom, so I wish you manage to reach your goal before the same happens to you. Smiley

I'm not going to say "We'll miss you." because I know from experience it's the kinda sentence that prevents people from leaving.
I'll just say that you'll always be welcome here. Whenever you feel you have reached your goal, and feel like coming back to say hi, nothing will have changed. We'll still remamber you, and you'll have lost nothing important from not coming here, but you'll probably have had a lot of great times. IRL is where the best things happen. ;3

So ... yeah, don't worry too much about us, we'll manage it no matter what happens. And more than anything else ...
HAVE FUN BUDDY. =3 *hugs*
1143  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: May 01, 2011, 05:55:33 AM
I think this counts as helping the situation ... I'm trying to explain politely everything that was asked to us and wasn't really properly answered IMO. Feel free to edit out any part you seem innapropriate.

Haku-men was a pretty effective moderator. I guess it was pretty hasty to downgrade him as a Team member, so I re-put him as a mod with all my apologies. As for why he's not an admin, it's more specific, and I'll answer it later (see below).
Ok, lets hear it.
At the time I wrote the apology, I didn't know what Haku-men used his Admin powers for. Since I asked the question "what will you do with your admin powers ?" to every other mod applying to being an admin, I found it fair to ask him too beforehand.
Now, he's replied, and given pretty convincing reasons to me. I'll discuss it with the team, but to me it's okay.

Hmm and I thought Private Messages were supposed to be, well, private.

Hence the word, "private" in it.

This shows that not everyone can have power.
Never have we written or even evocated any rule that said Private messages can't be posted in the admin section. It's the same as reporting to a mod, except Oizen was doing it here to every other mod/admin.
He was perfectly in his right here.

oh, so its a minor infraction of the rules, such as 1 word spam posts, or maybe, to an extent, an admin trying to get someone banned because they don't like them.  I see now, thanks for clearing that up.
I know we are evil, but it was a minor sanction, for a minor sanction. Stop trying to make it look like we hold grudges against everyone we see. Really.

Can you guys from the beloved KC MM flame war family thread show me where you read that being a sycophant will get you a Mod job? It won't.

Sorry but somebody had to break the news.
Ahhh ... the "people in the KCMM Family get to be mods" conspiracy theory ... let's have a look at the facts.

In our moderator list, we still have Canon98, plasmakirby, segab, Gazoinks. These people aren't all that active anymore, and don't even participate in the Family Thread. Let's just skip them.

Next, we have LookItsLink. Who's been a mod ever since the global de-adminization changes, way before the Family even appeared.

dRage, who's been a mod ever since the exact same event.

Oizen was chosen as a mod before the Family Thread too, IIRCE. And he decided to resign, anyway, so yeah.

VILE was an admin, we downgraded him to mod at some time because of lack of activity, (I think ? ). Not a part of the Family either.

Haku-men told me about ds22 being from the Family Thread ... ds22 isn't a part of the Family Thread at all, for starters. And I'm pretty sure we barely ever see him in the Off-Topic boards either. He was chosen mostly for his (extremely) frequent accurate reports on the boards. Right now, he's basically our Sniping Mod. He's also knowledgeable enough about Brawl Hacking, and is one of our "contacts" as to what happens on the SWF. (Well, to me he is. o_o")

Vishkugeta was a mod on the Tourney boards, but that's not what made us chose it. He's a Conflict-solver. He's got a calm and understanding attitude, is helpful and dedicated. When we needed to get on more mod, he was simply the best active candidate we found in the team.

Now, ItalianStallion, you've loved to claim around that the people in the Family get to be mods, are treated favorably, etc etc... what are YOUR facts ?

[multi-account thing]
I'd love to see the excuse for this one
Sure. Read the rules, and you'll find out, eventually. Smiley
(Hint : it's in the Accounts section.)

Translation (it's a bit difficult to understand, apparently ?) : We don't allow multi-accounts unless a good reason is given. And yes, doing a little hoax then ditching the account is a good enough reason. Bypassing a sanction isn't one, however.

Now the question is : did it affect you (or anyone) ? Because if you're here to complain about things that don't harm anything or anyone, then uh ... just say it, beause it's a waste of time IMHO.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how a mod "abusing their powers" to do something of no consequences (when there are consequences, it's a different thing, of course ...) is supposed to be punished ? I dunno, but just what is the point ?

Quote
Which raises the question, do Admins and Mods are even "punished" or "warned" for disruptive or improper actions?
Well, they get scolded, and can get demoted. And yes, just like on any boards on the internet, that means mods/admins get extra chances before getting actually sanctionned.
*shrugs* Deal with it.

Quote
The problem was caused neither by the thread nor Shadow. There have been complaints about Oizen and because of people trying to backup their arguments... well you know the rest.
Question is : why do people have to say everything they hate about this forum NOW ?
Is it because it's so much easier to follow the trend, or so that they want to cause drama ?

I'd probably consider the issue a bit more seriously if the complaints were abut stuff actually having any real consequences. So far, the only issues of consequence I've seen are Oizen's rank (he resigned), and Shadow's rank (gonna have a serious discussion about it in the Admin section).
Everything else, I'll try to solve it by having a little debate in the Admin section about how admin/mods can and should use their powers.

The only thing going thru my mind after reading all this is.... What Goal are you all trying to reach with all this? Just think about it... What does anyone gain or lose really? Is anyone gonna recieve a prize, or a Check in the mail? What?... Its point less... Or is it just for self-satisfaction?
Quoted for truth.
There are some very valid complaints, and I'll try to see them through with the rest of the admin team. Sorry, but everything else is just speculation about how evil we are, and is about matters of no consequence. And no consequence means Priority Zero to me.

So far, the complaints themselves have deteriorated the atmosphere on the boards much more than what they were supposed to solve. I'm pretty sure there were much more reasonnable ways to convey the message than trying to make us look evil at all costs.
1144  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: SDo0m's Dark Void: VIEWTIFUL JOE "FULL" RELEASE+Video of Epic Proportions! on: April 16, 2011, 12:12:06 PM
I removed them completely so I'd have to rewrite them (and I can't be asked).  I removed them because I make showcase and moveset videos (like the one at the very top of the OP).  Not to mention that I do include hints and tips on how you should start off with the PSA and some basic tips (I did that with Joe and Cloud anyways).
Well, if you didn't save them, don't bother with it, but I'd appreciate if you kept at least as a .txt file the ones that are in the OP right now.
Sorry, it's just that even with the tips, I always feel like I'm missing something with the attacks. .-. Or also that I notice late that an attack is two-part, or something like that.
1145  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: SDo0m's Dark Void: VIEWTIFUL JOE "FULL" RELEASE+Video of Epic Proportions! on: April 16, 2011, 08:28:32 AM
I have a little request ... no, not a PSA request.

You see, you put the movesets of each characters in your OP, but once the PSA is done, well ... you remove the moveset.

I know there's a character limit in posts, but if you still have the rough texts for the movesets stored somewhere, do you think you could add them as a .txt file, either along with the PSA file, or separately and linked to, in your first post ?
1146  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: SDo0m's Dark Void: VIEWTIFUL JOE "FULL" RELEASE+Video of Epic Proportions! on: April 15, 2011, 10:28:40 AM
Time for my feedback .... I can't possibly do a detail of each move, because most of them, I really have absolutely nothing to say about.

- Myself, I kinda like the F-Tilt. It's more situational than the AAA, but the overall range is pretty nice, as is the mini-spike. Good edge-guarding tool.

- I have something against the U-Tilt : I'm pretty sure the hitbox is starting too late, after the uppercut has been effectively delivered. I think making the hitbox start a bit earlier + some frame twists would make the move much more useable. Smiley

- About the ANA, I'm glad you kept kinda similar KB to the original releases. It's a great move. But maybe the FX is a bit too big, isn't it ? -_o

- The Neutral-Specials feel great too. I really like those. But how much priority did you you put into the Red Hot Kick ? O_O"""
Seriously, I'm kicking the butt of Pit's FS angels with this move. XDDD

- Side-Special ... i'm not too fondof it, honestly. The hitbox, damage and KB aren't at fault. But the animation and the way Joe moves to the side doesn't look very right to me. It's very okay, don't get me wrong, but this is IMHO the least good looking of his specials.  Undecided

- Also, he gets back to his normal size when being grabbed. Tongue

------------------------------------
The rest ? It's just great. I really like what you did there. It plays nicely, feels smooth ingame, has very few "barely used" moves ...
And the FS is epic, as usual. Tongue This PSA is even more true to the character than the previous version. Except that now, it plays great, and looks great. Smiley

Great job SDoom, this is really a splendid piece you did there.  Kirby Dance
1147  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Bomberman is coming to brawl! on: April 13, 2011, 08:17:19 PM
Reports bothering me during my slumber... -_-

I've looked around whatever evidence I could find. I won't be so nice and I'll give a Moderated to both SmashHackers and GSlasher.

SmashHackers, for throwing the first stone with his extremely tactless first intervention here (where are your manners ?), and because you kept messaging somebody who couldn't stand you anymore, and for no reason but to tease him even more. That's called being a harassing troll. And I'm pretty sure I have another report in my inbox of somebody complaining about a similar thing from you, earlier in the month.
PS : Sharing Personnal Messages in a thread like that is probably one of the rudest things you can do. What is the Report button for ?

GSlasher for extensive cursing, and just playing along in the troll game. You can ignore Personnal Messages, for starters. You can reply politely to or ignore people annoying you without ... doing what you did.
You fueled the conflict just as much as you made yourself look ridiculous, taking serioulsy stuff that you shouldn't even have bothered about.

PS : I just noticed the little "title in CAPS" thing rule which is something that is barely even applied in any kinda boards and doesn't bother all that much.
When I'll come back, I'll start working on revamping those damn rules. The more I read them, the more I see important stuff missing and trivial matters given too much importance.

Now, if you don't mind, just get back to the subject.

Meanwhile,
SmashHackers, I suggest you hurry up and read a bit about what is called the Netiquette.
GSasher, just chill down and try to think a bit more before getting flared up like that, ad doing stupid decisions.
1148  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Post here if you wanna be involved in Sexy Mountain. on: April 10, 2011, 02:30:04 PM
That's likely because nobody knows what the hell the stage's gonna be besides the fact it's sexy on a mountain Im srs here
Except it's not even mentonned in the OP that it is a stage. o_o"
It could be a drawing, a movie, or even a giant icecream for all I know.
1149  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Post here if you wanna be involved in Sexy Mountain. on: April 10, 2011, 02:21:12 PM
I believe most of the posts are either people getting in and comments on the subject of the project...
o_o" So ?

It's a hacking project, I just really don't see what the heck it's doing in Off-Topic. o_o"
You also just won't get a lot of attention here.

(Also, that OP just doesn't give any info on what that "Sexy Mountain" is. I'd be the average reader, I'd read the OP and that's all.)
1150  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Post here if you wanna be involved in Sexy Mountain. on: April 10, 2011, 02:02:48 PM
SmashClash, did you read what I posted ?

The project-thing will begin when we have 69 people registered for this.
If this thread stays in Off-topic, I'm pretty sure you'll have trouble even reaching 40. (30 if we count people who registered but won't make themselves useful/will disappear in 2 days).

If it's something hack-related, I suggest to post it in the hacking boards.

I'm not even sure what this project is ... A stage ? A bit more info in the Opening Post would certainly help.
Generally, one starts describing a project before asking for people to join ...

If it's a stage, then I suggest to repost it either in "Stages", or in "On-Topic" (since it's a group project of sorts ...). Your pick.
1152  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: The Shrine of BeyondYou: Kid Buu Wins Poll! Roy RELEASED! on: April 06, 2011, 06:16:48 PM

Okay thanks for explaining that. I'll guess I'll go back to my dumb polls because I know how many people loved those.

Yay for dumb polls ! =D

... Now that I think about it, what do the colors mean, in your OP ? o.o
1153  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: The Shrine of BeyondYou: Kid Buu Wins Poll! Roy RELEASED! on: April 06, 2011, 03:58:44 PM
If in the end, BeyondYou wants to do whatever the hell he wants, it's his choice. If he doesn't care is the poll is rigged or not, it's his choice too.
However Beyond, it'd be nice if you noticed and considered this :

You're a great hacker, and some people will try and influence your choices for their own satisfaction. If you don't mind, that's your problem. But if for that, they have to mess with the boards, then it's time to reconsider your way of doing things.
If you don't care about a fair competition, then I'd be glad if you removed the polls entirely, or replaced them with something unrelated, where people won't cheat.

It would avoid us to have and chase after multi-accounts. 'cause, yeah, it's not as easy as it seems. I got a few cases of people who were clearly different entities and had the same IP according to the boards ...
I'm pretty sure our system isn't failproof.
Besides, I don't have time for checking and comparing, and banning so many users. It seems I'm the only one who took a bit care of that thread. Apparently, other mods/admins prefer to moderate the Family
1154  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: [Release!] br3compactor's ambitious Projects on: April 01, 2011, 03:52:59 PM
What? Omega? It was him?

Now I'm pissed.

Did he hide behind a fake account to bully me?
Apparently. And by a strange coincidence, Omega logged in just as BLARG went Moderated. I wonder why ?   Awesome Face
