1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: dolphin help on: June 16, 2016, 01:53:31 PM
Also depends on the size of the SD.RAW. there is a hard code limit of 2 gigs on dolphin you can have an 8 gig card with 1.5 gigs on it and have it work. but after 2 gigs of data is read it won't read anything else.  i personally test myth with dolphin and ran into it a couple times.

Also Wii scrubber.

SCRUB IS NOT A SAVE BUTTON

That is another problem people have with iso moding in particular.

Also for editing the SD.raw try using IMDISK. you can right click the sd.raw "mount as virtual disk" then check removable media. it will open it like a real SD card and its a lot easier to edit that way without dealing with winimage.  just make sure to right click "eject" when you are done with the editing. dolphin can't read the SD if its in use.

ok i am trying your idea Cheesy um if a quick tutorial on what exactly to do on imdisk it would be very appreciated Smiley and uhh so i leave my sd card out? because its not ver clear to me what you were saying (sorry i am new to this dolphin hacking)

Wait, are you trying to use a real SD card? I could never get it to work via virtual SD card myself, but Dolphin does require either that or editing the ISO by replacing the individual files in the ISO itself with mods.(e.g. If you download a texture over Link, you could replace the FitLink00.pcs in the ISO with the .pcs file of the mod)

That's what I do to play mods on Dolphin, anyways.

ok so what you are saying is i can use the sd card without turning it into raw.dat? because i heard somewhere you couldnt but idk how unupdated that topic was Tongue

WinImage should be used for editing SD.raw. Wiiscrubber only works with game disc dumps.

This tutorial may help: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=75863.0

Ill check that out Cheesy i think this may be the guide i was referring to imma test this and hopefully it works *crosses fingers* because for some reason dolphin is so much harder than wii
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / (SOLVED) dolphin help on: June 11, 2016, 04:34:14 PM
Ok i know 100% how to ue mods on wii but how the flip do i use it on dolphin, for some reason ive done everything and nothing is working, heres what i did

i used wiiscrubber and the mod to change the sd card files into raw.dat and for some reason when i try to load in game stuff nothing is working, ive enabled cheats and installed the wads on dolphin emu and replaced the sd card file in dolphin files to make ssbb notice the changes and installed gecko(i dont exacttly what to do up there but im pretty sure you enable load with codes but nothing and i mean nothing is working. but i download project m and that works but anything i put doesnt work

private/rsbe/pf/fighter (i might be missing one but its because im not looking at my sd atm but trust me its right because i use this on my wii with no errors)

now i just completely deleted dolphin in rage and reinstalled it and im starting from scratch, so my question is how do i get thins thing to work?

Here's the problem... Everytime I finish selecting the character and hit start to go to the stage selection screen it freezes (Keep in mind that if I choose random for the stages it works)

Here is the possible causes... I have project M and downloaded http://smashboards.com/threads/stage-expansion-template-for-pm-3-02-36-16-and-12-stage-versions.345936/ (Stage Expansion Template for Project M) and only placed 12. When I placed Sector Z for STGCUSTOM01 on 10/27/14 the stage was working and nothing freezes. After the recent update where I placed Mario Circuit, Bridge of Eldin, Poke Floats, Mute City, Mushroom Kingdom I & II, Venom, Icicle Mountain, How to Play (N64), Yoshi's Island (N64) and Planet Zebes.. Now after that it freezes on the stage selection screen. Can someone look into my common5.pac for problems.. I will be extremely grateful.

NFMLH's Common5.pac =
https://www.dropbox.com/s/glr9l591q2n586w/common5.pac?dl=0

are you using the project m stuff or are you placing it on your custom build?

without looking i can tell common 5 pac isnt the issue, its your SSS in the common 5 pac, if it was a common5 problem you would run into all sorts of problems on the CSS, you dadded stages so its a stage related problem.

make sure you dont have 2 copies of the SSS in your folder and in the common 5

make sure you downloaded the pack and put everything where it needs to be

Side note- its better to address the problem first before posting all the hyperlinks because  its confusing to find out what the problem is with jus hyper links and limited info, plus try to be more descriptive, thanks
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: No files on: November 13, 2014, 08:03:38 AM
adding on to what he said, you cn actually just copy a pic to the sd card using regular brawl and all the files up to al will be created wich then you wiill put pf/fighter/mario(etc)

but if thats too complicated just download project m and delete everything out of it(if your lazy)

8  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Project M Freezing on: November 13, 2014, 07:52:49 AM
how big is the sd card? (4gb max but 2gb is recommended)

make sure you format(FAT32) the card and extract the files to the root of the sd card.

are you using gecko OS?

do you have homebrew?

make sure its the original download of project m from their website(type project m on google you cant miss it)

are you using an actual iso of the game or is it on a usb(you need an original copy of ssbb game disc)

do not delete or touch anything in project m unless you know what you are doing(look at a guide on how to use hacks)

are you using the project m launcher (more easier for beginners)

make sure your sd card isnt in lock mode (the little switch on the side)

and dont put anything(Nothing at all) on the sd card only the things that came strictly with project m.

Read those carefully and see if any of these could be the reason, if none of those work then ill help you out more

Wow! Thank you so much for doing this for me! I only have Macs though and I can not open code manager on my mac. Is there no hope for me or is there a way to open code manager on my mac?

Post Merge: September 06, 2014, 05:28:17 PM
And I don't want to make my own characters or anything, I just want to use this pack : http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=203792

how do I get that pack to work?

Post Merge: September 06, 2014, 08:11:06 PM
Ok, so I replaced some the files you gave me with the ones from the pack I downloaded and made sure to put every one in the right file. I got the hack to work somewhat! The main page is edited showing who did the hack and everything looks a little different. However, once I go to choose my character, there are no characters to choose from at all!

Like I said before, I have a Mac so it says that I can not open code manager because it is a windows app. Is that the problem? Do I actually have to specifically enter all the codes from the codes.txt provided in the pack I downloaded to code manager for this to work, or is something else the problem? I am so sorry that I can't figure this out!

ok i see your problem. unfortunately i dont think code manager will work, BUT if brawl box works on your mac then go to settings in it nd you should see code manager. as for that particular download its Brawl ex so it is possible but very complicated to work with riivolution so i would suggest to you either to use gecko(the file setup is there already so its really no problem) but coding is going to be an issue and other things...or (highly recommended) you can continue to use riivolution and manually put each character downloaded from this site (not that link) and put them in the game

but yes you will encounter many problems using brawl ex with riivolution.

not important:
also to sum it up for you, as you get better in hacking brawl you may want to texture edit or vertex edit your character which is honestly not hard at all (a 12 yer old can figure it out) just to give you a feel that you put work into and or someone may have not done something to the character that you would like, trust me when i first started hacking i just wante to play with hacks but then i messed around with stuff and now its actually pretty fun to come up with gret ideas, so i really consider looking into brawlbox.

oh and your welcome!

The only files I really care about are the CTGPR and newerSMBW ones, the others are just emulators that I can get rid of if needed

okay man i got whats going on here. first things first copy everything and put it somewhere safe the format the card, im guessing since you have all that stuff on your card you might have a 4 gb sd card or 8....if you do that could be the reason your hacks arent working properly. just incase this is confusing im gonna break it down step by step because you may want to put more hacks in later and may forget how to do it soo its best just to learn everything you need. just start form scratch. so you wont have any problems with what you have. your going to have to use the riivolution way if you want this stuff. (not important- if you want brawl ex then gecko is highly recommended but if not then forget it) plus riivo you can have custom music and sounds, same for gecko but its much harder to do

1st. Move current files somewhere safe but off the sd card

2nd. Format card(FAT 32)

3rd. download the file from link i made for you link- http://www.mediafire.com/download/qlf46cme517u714/SD+CARD+setup.rar

4th. Put your files in and Enjoy, everything is set for you all you need is to read the READ MEs and you will have everything you need.

i usually dont do this but that took alot of time. im sure you will have it now

I did read the guide he sent me. I am not a hacker or whatever so it was very confusing to me, so that is why I came on to the help forum. To get help, not be ridiculed of not putting any effort in to trying to figure this stuff out, because I have certainly tried. I tried downloading the Code manager but nothing was on it when I tried to open the actual code manager. I don't know where to put the files from the pack that I downloaded on my SD card or if I need to download something to put them somewhere else, and I don't want to mess up the other files I already have on the SD card.

Post Merge: September 04, 2014, 11:48:58 AM
And I also tried putting all the files from the pack I downloaded onto the root of my SD card, then opening it with Gecko, but that did not work.

that wasnt really meant to be against you just a statement, no need to get offended just some people (not you) ask ridiculous questions

Post Merge: September 04, 2014, 10:30:35 PM
if you want i can just set the file directory up for you and upload it to mediafire, if that makes it easier but truthfully, its better to learn just in case. also an easy way to set up the file directory is to take a pic on ssbb and send it to the sd card it should have the directory set up when you put the sd card in you pc then go in the private and go all the way till you see an "al" file directory, dont go in it but make a pf file in the folder next to the al and then inside pf make a fighter, modules, stages all in that folder then in the fighter put all the name of the characters then put everything in the corresponding names

idk how gecko is exactly so im not sure if its txt or RSBE01 so dont worry about that....try what i said above and if that doesnt work read my guide below, this is for riivolution

http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=50621.msg1027371#msg1027371

you willl see my comment and click show spoilers, thats for the modlauncher, i dont use this setup anymore but its still a great way to use hacks

btw so it wont be so confusing try having an sd card dedicated to one game, its really hard to scramble through files, even for me it gets annoying trying to put my stuff on with all that junk on the sd card (boot.elf is a file that you have no idea what its for because its not specific to what its used for, it could be for homebrew, bootmii installer or even ctgp) so with that being said it would be less confusing to you and you wont be scared to delete anything because you will know what each is for, you can find a cheap 2gb sd card anywhere on the internet to buy
12  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Where do I put these files that I just downloaded on my SD Card? on: September 03, 2014, 08:27:02 PM
He already has Gecko, so it would actually be a downgrade to switch to Riivo

well gecko isnt much of an upgrade....unless you know what your doing...gecko is more about codes which he obv doesnt know how to do...i think riivo is more user friendly.  started with gecko nd i couldnt get it to work lol

If he looked at the tutorial link I sent him it should have gave him the codes and setup and everything.
Sigh, did you actually read the tutorial or look at it and say this is not what I want?
Beginner mistake #1: Assuming they already knew what people tell them.
Beginner mistake #2: If #1 is false, thinking received help will automatically fix their problem.

sadly but true, and most people have no idea where it is, people are too lazy these days to read a guide to get them what they want.... but ehh. some people do try but its too "complicsted" idk i cant talk im nowhere near a beginner anymore but reading guides that people make with their hard earned time and people come asking on the forum for things that are simple instruction.

your sd card file placement needs to be correct, my suggestion is to use riivolution instead, its more easier to set up, so look for the mod launcher(type it in on google) it will tell you everything you need if you cant set it up pm me and ill help you

setup for gecko

root of your sd card/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/whoever the fighter is
you will also need the code manager and ocarina
14  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: riivolution 1.06 freezes when selecting wario? on: July 31, 2014, 03:07:25 PM
I managed to fix wario by replacing the projectm file format of wario's .pac and .pcs files and wariomans as well and everything works fine now. thanks everyone!

Great! have fun Smiley
15  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: riivolution 1.06 freezes when selecting wario? on: July 27, 2014, 12:28:30 AM
yeah I'm just using regular brawl to load the new chars I downloaded. not projectm or brawl+ or -, just standard brawl. I recently started using riivo to load sounds for the characters I have replaced. Wario is the only character with a freezing issue.

Check these things first:
did you change any of the csps? default size 128/160

make sure your codes are correct if you re using wario/warioman/bowser/GigaBowser etc slot mod

remove your pac files and pcs  and fitmotionetc and fitwario and check

are you usng beyondyous riivo setup or modlauncher or an older version (idk about anyone else but I have had problems with beyondyous riivo setup)

check the file name

what sd card are you using?

I would recommend using modlauncher

I have recently switched too but I had issues but I managed to work around them, maybe they might work for you:

I accidentally installed the new version of riivo and my game wouldn't read the sd card properly, idk if anyone else had this problem( I eventually found the issue  but then it wouldn't read my common pac)

so I set mine to use the private folder and the brawlmods (basically put my common stuff in brawlmods stuff and everything else in private, works fine)
