If you're getting silent freezes at the SSS, wait for the game to "finish loading" the custom slots. Riivolution loads slow as [censored], and if you don't let it finish, it'll freeze.
Select your characters and let the light on your Wii return to 1 flash per second (or let it stop flashing, if you haven't replaced your Menu music) and it should work. If not, you either named something wrong or your xml isn't properly edited.
having random freezes at SSS using Riivolution? Well, I think I know why. When you select your characters on the CSS, you'll notice the light on your Wii will change from a pattern to flashes, meaning Riivolution is loading a file. If you don't let the file load, you get a freeze. If you let the light return to its streaming pattern, it will load.
This has been 100% consistent since I noticed it. Anyone willing to test?
ok. i got it to load. but when i select example fitmario01.pac it freezes. i have the pcs file too. still freezes. my hack is good it is the same one over fitmario00.pac as i'm creating dummy files to prevent crashing.
You need to add file paths to your Riivolution XML if you haven't already.
Could be a corrupt common5/sel_character. I suggest you get a clean copy, rip ROBs CSPs from it, add them to your original file and test it out. Post results.
edit: whoops didn't see your edit. When you say "it worked with no codes", are you referring to vBrawl, or all of your hacks just w/o codes?
I've also been experimenting a little bit with using menu_selchar.rel and menu_selchar_access.rel to implement the custom CSS code and include localized (and extendable) character color and icon options (think Brawl Masquerade)
Do you use Photoshop? If so, select your CSP, and go to Select > Modify > Contract by 1-2 pixels. That will get rid of the small white border around your renders.
Not sure how to do it in GIMP (other then get PS.)
EDITEDIT: Woah! Very nice job on the portraits you did for Apples!
Yeah, those were fun to make. Unfortunately, the Ganon import used for the base is pretty sketchy (pretty sure it's the older import, by KTH) so it was quite hard to pose without looking screwed up. Did the best I could, I guess lol
Sorry for not posting anything recently, btw. I lost my first wii to a completely busted disc drive, which I had to pry my SSBB copy from, and my second wii was recently lent to somebody... So, I just don't feel like making anything until I can actually efficiently test it. On top of this, real life (sigh) just gets in the way, yknow?
I have tried with several models that aren't from Brawl, with only some objects of some models and with Kirby and Jigglypuff, it shows me that window with every one of them.
Well whenevr I'm working with BB, I open up a FitMotion, select an animation, pose the model, then save that animation. Then I just open up the character then FitMotion then to that animation frame. Not sure how that would work in 3DS Max though...
This is how I do it as well, however whenever I try to copy the frame to the base model, I have to rotate every single bone ever so slightly for the changes to actually take effect. I'm not sure if that's just BB or my computer though.
