76  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: The Real Reason the Community is Dying. on: March 25, 2015, 03:14:35 PM
This is somewhat reminding me of another thread that spiraled out of control, and we have some returning cast here too, even the protagonist.

[Edit]
I removed this paragraph, its not like me to be a [censored]. Benefit for those who read it.
[Edit]

My apologies.

I think we all shared our toughts already. So why don't we go back on topic again? It might help ease the tension. (Or hopefully send this thread into the depest forums spot).

We're a brawl modding community and Brawl has been succeeded by Smash 4. No we're not going to be completely burn out but we've definitely already peaked. Don't expect any huge surpluss of new users or anything like that. This is pretty much it give or a take a few new users in the future.

Everyday there is atleast one new user who uploaded their 1st mod on the vault. Its just that most of them don't make the cut due to them breaking many many rules.

And judging by various comments, people are returning back to PM/Melee and the occasional 64 and Brawl. I gave comp smash 4 a shot, I feel like its a megaman, Diddy, and Jigglypuff fest. I rage too much on that game more than other smash games.

Oh yeah, melee. Still quite popular after two games later right? Problaby the same happens to modded vBrawl.

Thanks! I guess I have to revisit these.

- I learned custom shadows just recently, so thats gonna be an easy fix. And the lights is not quite the issue, its the shading... they have none.

And there's my flaw.

I do have problems with is addng bones and shading these models, I never done it yet. Seeing it know, it will make the stage more brawl-like which is awesome, and less static. Time to look for someone, or somewhere that can teach me.

The animations in the Galaxy Stage is problematic, I tried adding extra animations such as coins, rotating cogs, extra trains... but I can only place models for some odd reason and and not animate it :c The trains took alot of animation data. I might have to port it to another stage so I can have more animations.

Again, thanks a ton. I know Planet Wisp will look extremely awesome once I learn these.
78  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: The Real Reason the Community is Dying. on: March 24, 2015, 07:43:24 AM
Im never satisfied with what I do, and once I receive a complaint from one of my mods, I immediately try to fix it no matter how old the mod is.

Because if there is a way to make the stuff I make better, Im sure as hell Im gonna take it.

Like what happened once in Smash 3, I had to retexture ROB from scratch twice (retexture=blank canvas, white and undetailed) I had to sketch in every nuts and bolt, shadows and dents, with no shortcuts or tricks. I made him pixel by pixel to make him better. And turns out that in the end, I made something that gave ROB the quality seal these charming veterans wanna distribute.

I learned how to photoshop HD textures, which helped me filling in blank spots on some other designs I made IRL.

I used to only made background swaps (some of the lesser skill required stage making), but then LC said something about "All being the same stage with the same colors" or something like that, I was pissed and I wanted to prove him wrong. So I started making custom stages just to prove a point that I could do something else with these PM stages. And because of that, I'm actually learning to use 3DS max which is something I never seen myself doing. And in the end leaving my comfort zone to do other better things.

And from simple stuff like these:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=33672
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=34013

To these:
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=207550
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=207173

Unlike how I used to be, I wanna be criticized in order to just make something good (or bad) better!

Of course, in the end is your choice whenever you take criticism or not, but be certain that you are ignoring an advantage.

I used to be like you, not accepting things and only wanting to do the things each of you are comfortable in, but frankly...accepting criticism may prove that you indeed care of what you do. And who knows? Maybe the one criticizing may help you hands on.

My English sucks today.

This project is dead.
80  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: The Real Reason the Community is Dying. on: March 23, 2015, 05:26:58 PM
Plus, I found this site that insults other people's hard work (you would probably recognize this):

fnbv.tumblr.com

I couldn't post the first one because the first word gets censored and pressing it leads to nowhere. It's a website where it judges other people's textures that they have worked so hard on.

Well, so what?

Everywhere you get critique for your art, be it youtube, paint, photography, everywhere. My stuff is in there, you think that stopped me 11 months ago?
81  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: The Real Reason the Community is Dying. on: March 23, 2015, 03:29:36 PM
the only thing I didn't  do on that model was the bang, everything else was my work, and actually that Samus model did freeze my game, I just didn't never reported it, but I noticed that you love to report all of my projects so I reported yours for an actual reason, but I'm not mad lol

Easy there.

And such things give the cyan stars a painfull day. These revenge reports are really becoming common, something that grinds my gears. Just make sure these are indeed valid.

Oh and may I remind you, I believe Nano wasn't even

Edit: ... trying to offend, hes just faster than most of us to spot rule breakers, and JUST like us, we may commit mistakes in reporting.

Like, not crediting, something that I fround upon. Especialy, People that don't credit in their packs.

Well, if you have BV issues, mention it on the BV thread.
82  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: General Critique Thread on: March 23, 2015, 02:20:21 PM
OoC: Good joob with this thread KJP.
So, since I do not know PSA's and color hues much, I'll critique stages and imports I suppose. I may give it a try tho.

Im a bit late, but what has been told to you Windhunter is pretty much what my opinions are for Fire Mario, you need to know that lighter is not always better.

Someone want to me how bad this is against your ears?

I hate wubs, but these wubs brings promised results. You better mention that your work has proper credits on your upload tho, because when someone says something like credit to everyone... well, a very evil staff mey delete it.

I would like for the following stages to get critiqued:

These are my very first fully custom stages, with these I left my comfort zone and leveled up, please, give me your best punches.
83  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: The New Project Mirage Recolor Thread! on: March 21, 2015, 07:29:14 PM
Canvas

Disclaimer, every time I said canvas, I meant color pallete.  Tongue
84  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: The New Project Mirage Recolor Thread! on: March 20, 2015, 08:17:18 AM
Consistency, gents!

Follow the patterns stated by the vBrawls cast, not the PM cast.

You guys are the offspring of the UTRP, therefore you must compete with them, in order to do that, you must follow their footsteps in order to achieve semi-perfection! (lets face it, no recolor project will achieve perfect looking colors on ALL the characters would it?)

"But Scout! You know nothing about recolors! You think pink is purple and your purple is violet! You are colorblind blablahblah"

And? I've been surrounded by many recolor talk to know the... um... habits? Yeah, habits.

Quote
I will say this though: do what Taiko suggests, but keep the "alt". I like it too much.

Error 1: It may be true that having more is better, but you guys only have ONE color slot, only ONE purple slot. Alts will make the player harder to choose which color do they want, and also limits any possible probability for pack making.

Quote
I was going for a "mixes well with each other" type look, but this needs more of a "contrasts well with each other" touch. it looks gross atm.

Error 2: That is great, but your canvas is limited. The UTPK only added one color if they needed it in order to blend their characters well, usually the extra color works for the characters details, not as a secondary color like you did with ROB, don't be shy to use other colors on your canvas to make it more unique and less simple.

Seriously, your canvas is extremely limited.

Quote
Project M already has that kind of costume.

Error 3: You guys have a really limited canvas, don't limit yourselves more.

Quote
I'm okay wtih the release, but taiko and xeno are very important members of this project and they might disagree with me.

Error 4:  You guys have to learn not to be overly dependent of them... and that is what I noticed the most!

"I did this, now I wait for Xeno and Taiko to tell me what I did wrong and not do anything for now."

Seriously, why don't you guys modify your alts ideas and create multiple shades of your characters instead of one shooting them all the time? Like, have 4 tlinks, add a bit of red to this one, desat that one, sat the other one, make the 4th one a grape. It gives you a better chance of nailing it closer than one shooting.

Quote
(making xeno happy is kinda hard, which is great.)

Error 5: Xeno is never happy, because he's secretly the evil "America's got Talent" judge.

Quote
well as i said, i'm spoiled by the Smash 3 style and i've quite lost interest in doing skinsand recolors based on the vBrawl style, but i'd be glad to keep this up when the full Smash 3 update comes out to make Mirage versions of those

Error 6: If you make mirage smash 3, this project will no longer be a recolor thread, but rather a retexture thread.
85  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Brawl Vault Community Support on: March 14, 2015, 11:01:55 AM
Well, what if i make a link of it?

Whats the name of the hack? Maybe that could make it easier when using BV search results. (Can youtube atm)
86  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: The Real Reason the Community is Dying. on: March 09, 2015, 11:56:01 AM
This place lost its charm.

I actually moved my stuff over at the smashboards. I comment there more because I feel I can get easier and more feedback over there than here.

I... hate, how more certain more experienced people on the modding scene  criticize others people's attempt in learning the ropes, and criticism IS good, but I refer to that unhelpfull and personal criticism.

That's why I wanna improve on the stuff I do, why I wanna learn to be better. So I can take request, so I can help others when I can and so I can lend a hand to those who need it.

And let me be bluntly honest. Only a few tutorials helped me into stage building. The rest I had to figure out by myself.

I wanna learn, and I want to improve. But something tells me that my answers to improve is not here.

I guess I can change that once I feel like Im exprience enough. I can make a stage making Bible if I must.

87  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Stages / Re: Stage Workshop on: January 31, 2015, 07:18:02 PM
Well, its been a while I've shown how's planet wisp v2 is going, so I'll post this small progress:

Guess who learned how to add shadows to stages? It isn't as hard as I thought it was, its actually easy. Finally! I think that covers everything I need to know about stage making... except that what is left for me to learn is to add specs and the occasional rim-light to custom stages.

Enough blabbering on my part.
A new main stage, more cleaner looking textures courtesy of Taiko, and shadows! The stage was vastly optimized, with vertx values cut by half and everything.

Im not showing much of the background yet, it isn't presentable material just yet.
88  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Can I edit the blast zones of a stage? How? + Can I replace Lylat Cruise? on: January 31, 2015, 06:19:47 PM
Quote
1) I've put in Scout's 'Crateria' stage (over summit), and the stage plays fine, but seems too high up - you enter the sky blast zone really quickly, although get K.O's at a reasonable percentage. I think this may have something to do with the stage being made for PM 3.5, but I run vanilla Brawl. Can I use BrawlBox to edit this somehow - like position the stage lower or the screen higher?

Download this: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=205600

-> Open the stage on Brawl Box. Click the main blue arc file and open model viewer. Enable the boundary viewer (found at the top window), you'll see blue where the camera goes off-stage, and red for when you get KO'd, to edit those boundaries click the drop down menu found next to those enablers and look for the "stagepossition" model or something similarly named. Then look for the bones that corresponds to those boundaries on the window to your right, highlighting the bones gives you a pointer to the bone thats being highlighted on the viewer. You'll find two bones that are connected to the boundaries, from there you can easily move it and the whole square will adjust to it modifying the numeric values on the bottom window. Thats it, save and close.

-> Do the same to the Tenkaichi stage.

-> Use the correct .rel try using the online rel converter: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/Resources.php , and make sure you're using the correct .rel

Sorry that I had left details out, my time is a bit tight at the moment.

well finally got super mario 3d world fully extracted. everything is in a szs format with yaz0 compression.

figured out most of the format for character and enemy files.. yaz0 decompression tool works, and gives out a Sarc file. inside there's FRES, FMDL, FVTX, FSKL, FSHP, FMAT, FTEX formats.

Sarc - Structure pack
FRES - resource pack
FMDL - Model
FVTX - Vertex
FSKL - Skeleton
FSHP - Shape
FMAT - Material
FSKA - skeletal attributes?
FTEX - textures

Kitty Bowser is nearing.

Bilingual here. We do appreciate feedback but...

We're an English-speaking board. The end.

English may be my second language, but if a admin says the end... it means the end. We have to deal with it and move on. Also, those should make more effort and learn English via translating, cuz its an important language.

Drop the topic, as its now spam.

Good? Okay? Done.
