I recently submitted Female Voice for Pokemon Trainer under SFX - was this deleted intentionally, or was it a bug?

Besides the dropbox for NA files and the new version of BrawlBox, does anything else need to be updated or added to the Resources page?

Item hacks are common3, yes? They're not mentioned because I'm not sure if that's possible. If we can successfully automate editing common5 (for portraits and such), editing common3 shouldn't be much of a stretch.

as far as i know they could only cease and desist.. that happened to a zelda project once.

"Cease and desist" notices are a polite way of saying "stop now or we will sue the [censored] out of you."

Updating Resources is on the agenda. Just don't have a lot of time.

Also, how do you get a custom title?! Like yours says Phantom Detecrive or something.

Custom Titles
Custom titles are additional text that appear just under a user's name in message displays and profile summaries. Only mods, admins, KC:MM team members, BV staff, and Special Access members can set a custom title. Special Access is granted only to former staff members (who left on good terms) and to this user for helping us out of a financial bind.

Just a glitch on the host side. Pretty rare.

1. No Plagiarism (needs a more concrete definition)

It's easy to say that, but can you "concretely" define plagiarism in this situation? Are only exact copies considered plagiarism? Or are minor edits included? If so, at what point is an edit no longer "minor"?

The "I know it when I see it" approach is probably better here.

I mean, if you guys can agree on a concrete definition of plagiarism, fine. Great, even. We can use that. But I'm not expecting it.

Oh, I was looking for portraits you were crediting to yourself. That explains why I didn't find them before.

Anyway. Portraits, like most things on BV, are cached. That means changes can take a little while to show up.

There's no record in the database of you adding any portraits. I just added one myself with no problem, so I'm guessing you messed something up.

Alright, so if you take a bunch of hacks made by other people, and all you do is just that, does that give you the permission to upload the hack?

If you mean making "packs," then no, that's not OK.

If you're talking about taking other people's stuff and combining it into one new hack, well... that's more of a gray area.

Well, Jack's done another of his disappearing acts, but that doesn't mean it's dropped.

In the meantime, I'll ask another question: who should we try to get involved in this project? Do you guys know of any homebrew or Brawl-related programmers that would be good to have on board? Since we'd like to modify common5 to include portraits and such, and maybe even do SFX, it'd be nice to have BlackJax or someone who really understands the Brawl files to help us automate that stuff. But that's all I can think of.

The edits have to be significant enough that it's not plagiarism, but otherwise, yes, you are correct.
