I would suggest a vector based texture, since vector scaling you can get a nice amount of detail in without compermising on quality when compressing the textures, you could just vector trace the original texture and clean it up

btw, in order to get a full library of sounds from the cast, especially tron and tiesel, could use sounds from both MML1 and MML2 for that, since trigger's voice actor was switched in two to sailor jupiter's VA, but the rest of the cast is the same.
