I never got around to uploading the 3DS models to The Models Resource because I wasn't happy that it was kind of a hackjob method that I used to extract the models. I had to manually scale up both the vertex points and UV mapping to the proper spots, so it's not as accurate as I'd had liked them to be. At least with the Wii U version, it seems to be much simpler than the clustermess that was the 3DS version's models!
Yes please! Well, maybe not this trophy in particular, but... I can't wait!
It's all I've got at the moment, I only have the update data from Smash Bros. decrypted (which for some reason has only Wonder Pink's trophy, model-wise... was there a change between v1.00 and v1.01?). As soon as I can get the main game decrypted, I'm gonna go all-out with ripping the character models.
(So someone please send me the tools already, jeez :V)
oh is that so? awesome! wish the uv's and other objects could be saved.. xD
and honestly i wasnt being selfish.. i just didnt know how ppl got it xD i got the models from soneek so... :3
The script update I'm working on gets bone structures, rigging and UV mapping. I'm looking into getting the "cloth" model parts to render properly right now.
And if I could get my hands on the Smash Bros. for Wii U model files, I'd work my magic on those.
im not saying... all ill say its the same format as dynasty warriors, so wasnt that hard to unpack said files in the iso.
Now now, don't be selfish...
There's a topic over on Facepunch's Modelling forum where Twili posted them (from the files that crediar extracted?). I'm already looking into the model format myself and have made significant progress. More on that later.
so they saved on finger rig and made extra hands i see but besides that how is the bonetree? similar to brawl? same reference bones? thrown, yrotn, waistN and such?
Goes straight from TransN to RotN to HipN, some of the extras are gone. Still has ThrowN and LHaveN/RHaveN and such, but yeah, same naming scheme.
just wondering do you guys get the models with the bones or without?, it would be interesting to see if some chars like mario and the other veterans use the same excat bonetree.
With bones and rigging. The 3DS characters I know don't have finger bones, using hand sets instead.
Uhm. You're wrong, RTB. You didn't look hard enough.
EDIT: I take that back, nobody did.
Well, to be fair, you didn't exactly publicize you had ripped there anywhere but on the Steam Community.
Good job ripping them, dude.
That's because I was going to wait until I had their low-poly models ripped before submitting them to The Models Resource (which wasn't going to take that much longer), for completeness' sake. The Garry's Mod ports Apoc and I wanted to get done sooner just because we didn't need those.
So nobody bothers to acknowledge the fact that I had ripped those three Smash 3DS models in the first place (used for this and this), and that KTH gets all the credit for the work I did? I see how it is...
I already know a bit about the models, mainly that they're bch models, they aren't like Pokemon's bch models, and that Dantarion has made some progress on them. But that's about it. Guess I'll have some fun attempting to get them to work though, even if I end up being unable to.
Those might've been my pictures you've seen, Dantarion only seemed to be referring to hitbox data on his Twitter, not the models.
Smash 3DS model format is all kinds of confusing. I know this because I've worked with it. Also have fun trying to find what you're looking for when everything has no proper filenames.
