True. The model itself is very nicely done. I just feel with a little more work, it would look truly outstanding.

You're not alone there. I do too.

I myself gave a critique to Pik to hand off to the guy who made the model: Tock.

Despite the problems of this one, he did a pretty good job, you have to admit.

Overall the model needs adjustment to fit with the reference.

That puffball on the belt...

I agree, it's a nice touch. Really like that.

The other thing is the graphics on his back don't feel like they are part of this coat. They feel like stickers that have been applied to me.

Nayru

Hate to be the one to give you an honest critique , but you're a bit off on the model there. Lots of adjustments to be made...
202  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: August 01, 2014, 12:27:39 PM
If you want to take a look at it, that's fine, I can send it your way if you want to take a crack at it Grin

Funny thing is, I got the poly count to around 65,000, which is a far cry from its originally-ridiculously-higher count of 150,000  Roll Eyes A model custom-made for Brawl of Krystal would be awesome, but unfortunately, I lack the skill set to make models from scratch. The Star Fox Adventures model is all well and good, but the textures aren't that great.

My suggestion: Look up and follow some tutorials on modeling for 3DS Max. You'll learn the skill set needed fairly quickly.

Well ain't that a swift proverbial kick to the crotch.  I must thank you for the feedback.  Roll Eyes I'll be certain to not upload WIPs that you disapprove of.  Roll Eyes

You misunderstand.

It's not the fact it's Krystal that I disapprove of. It's the particular model you found. I've seen a lot of it around Furaffinity and DeviantART and suffice to say, for me it has a rather unsettling uncanny valley to it.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself, it's late.

Oh god it's that Krystal again.

Correct, she's over Ness. I haven't really looked at BrawlEx before, but I can give it a look.
Their shp0 animations?

Yeah, maybe a tutorial on how to edit them? SHP0 is a still uncracked part of editing for all of us and it would save some of us a lot of trouble if we knew how to do it.

Thanks! I'm currently working on getting moving particles to work in the entry animation.

Think you'll be able to figure out Link's stuff and maybe Zelda's?

That's just BA, I like it.

What inspired this Ninja Squirtl-...

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE! XD

I am progressing.

Sadly. This is where I need to get critical IMO.

I really think it would've been easier on you to just make the models for his boots and such from scratch, ShadowLuigi. Namely because the design of his boots are so simple. They're just two cylinders with a spike protruding from the front on top of the joint where the foot bends.

His gauntlet on his left hand is the same way. A simple cylinder. His right hand will be trickier since it's not a gauntlet but just a bracelet with flames coming out of it toward the elbow.

I also think the Hair would benefit from being made from scratch and being styled as one piece like Peach's hair is.

It doesn't look so bad otherwise so far.

I personally would've come off more impressed with the Hector alt if they had gone as far as giving Hector's haircut to Ike, now that I've had a good look at Hector.

I say we should just be glad we're getting alternate costumes in the first place.

So we shouldn't make judgements and give critical feedback?

@SOJ:

I really can't take you at your word seeing as I know you're being so disingenuous with that statement, man. Come on. Could you be any more transparent?

A lot of people on Project M's Facebook and such may like the project (It's kinda plainly obvious just by looking at it), all the power to them for liking the project as is their right. Those people however are probably not very much for good, decent critical feedback though, I imagine, the majority of the time.

I can understand you guys being agitated by Mia commenting on anything related to the PMBR though, given he's done it pretty much with every chance he gets, and very much not always in the nicest or any way that isn't a jab. When you take someone's honest critique as an attack (which Pik here is (awesomely) not doing), that's a problem that needs to be addressed.
