I love the Jack Skellington, really great job! The only two things I would have done differently is give him a bigger smile (but that was already brought up) and make him over Ganondorf (or do a one slot size mod) because Jack is friggin TALL :p. Either way, I love it and I think it looks awesome already.
I would like to try him at some point but I probably won't get to him for a while so I wouldn't mind if somebody else beat me to it if they wanted to make him themselves.
I'm probably going to make all/most of them eventually but I'm making Blaziken first. The others I was planning to alernate between making a Pokemon and making something else so people don't get sick of nothing but Pokemon hacks. I already started on Blaziken yesterday for those who are curious.
Yeah I'm really surprised that this isn't getting more attention than it has been getting.
1st Sergeant Lagoon, that would be great. I think that slow progress is much better than no progress at all. As long as this thing gets done eventually and we continue to make some kind of progress no matter how small it may be I'll be happy.
Anyways, thanks to everybody that posted here for all of your interest in this project. I'm still hoping that we can eventually get an official team together to make this a dedicated project but I really appreciate all of the work and consideration given so far . If anybody wants me to add them to the Team section on the OP, just speak up and I'll be sure to add you.
I'm still working on Vanguard Ike's textures right now but I'll do my best to have him done before October 30th. As for taking requests, I have a lot of things that I want to make so it will probably take a while before I can start taking requests again. When I do, I'm hoping they will be quick and simple things that I can get done relatively quickly (unless it really interests me and/or I wanted to do it anyways).
Yeah, ideally Electabuzz would want to be somewhere in between Diddy Kong's and Donkey Kong's build but the main reason I chose Diddy is because of the tail like Dingo said. The other major reason is that Diddy Kong's shirt appears to be asymmetrical so I would actually be able to make the lighting bolt on Buzz's chest. Finally, Electabuzz is also only supposed to be 3'07" so Donkey is a bit too big for him.
Anyways, I'm not really that huge a fan of Electivire but Electabuzz is my favorite electric type so he gets priority over his evolution . Electivire does seem like he'd be a good fit for Donkey Kong though so maybe I'll consider it for the future.
Good news everyone! The vertexes for the two requests I was working on are pretty close to finished. All that's left are textures (which unfortunately usually take longer than the vertexes). Either way, it's looking pretty promising that I will be able to start Blaziken as early as this coming Friday.
I would have thought there would be a little more interest in giving Sephiroth a moveset. I have some animation experience in Maya from my classes at college but I haven't really done much with Brawlbox animations. I would love to help out in any way that I can. For now, I'll continue making vertex hacks though until this project gets officially rolling (if it ever actually does).
As for changing his Up Smash to his Up Throw, I have no objections to it if that's what everyone agrees on. Remember though, his grab is an impale so I think his current throw might look a little more natural from this position since he actually does it in the movie. To make things simpler to decide on, here's the two moves in discussion:
Current Up Smash
Current Up Throw
Maybe his Up Smash could be a two part hit like Link's where the first hit juggles his opponent in the air a bit with an uppercut/throw and the second hit smashes him/her upward? Just throwing out ideas here.
Wow that Cloud looks awesome so far! Do you think you'll be able to give him a wing (or at least something resembling a wing)? That would make him perfect .
Well, unfortunately I don't know that much about bone editing. All I know is that in order to disable a bone, I usually add _Gengar (or whatever character I'm working on) after the name of the bone I want to disable. Other than that I've never really experimented with bones much. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Yeah, unfortunately I only have time to work on things during the weekends. That and Vanguard Ike and Wave have to come before Blaziken so it will probably be a couple of weeks before I get to him.
Well, his face needs a little fixing up for starters. I wish I could get rid of the dark area of his arms but I really couldn't figure that out. Other than that, I'm not sure what else he'd need. Maybe better hair (that's extremely difficult with Ganondorf by the way)?
That would be a good portrait for him but I have a theme that I like to use artwork whenever it's available instead of CGI or models for my CSP's. I just think they look a little better (and a lot of characters don't have a CG model). Maybe I'll make two versions of the CSP/Battle Portrait if you want. It really wouldn't be much trouble.
Oh and just for anyone curious, there won't be a deadline for the voting. Whoever is in the lead by the time I'm done making the requested characters (probably two weeks from now depending on how fast I can get the requests done) I will start making it. I'm thinking that after I'm done making that (Blaziken most likely) and maybe Raznak's request, I'd like to try Seymour Guado over Zelda.
Unless too many people object, I'm thinking that I'm going to alternate between making a Pokemon and making another character for every other hack I do for a while since there's only so few slots for human characters.
I think getting pissed off about that is probably overreacting a bit Italian but I get what you're saying. Remember that Sephiroth, Gengar, Haruhi, Frog, and Voltorb had previously been made before I made my versions. I don't see anything wrong with having multiple versions of the same character honestly. Just look at all the different Clouds, Shadows, Rosalinas, and Roys we have. It gives people a choice about which version they want to use most (even if mine don't end up being any better than the original versions).
