Yeah, that's definitely the exact problem I was mentioning, do the fix I mentioned; expand the MDL0, expand the Bones folder, and then expand every bone; then compare with the vBrawl one, and if anything whatsoever is not where it should be in terms of this hierarchy, move it to the proper spot
As for this problem of zipping and becoming invisible, that sounds to me like a TransN problem, i.e. check the bone hierarchy and make sure that it's exactly identical to the vBrawl one, because if any of the bone IDs are out of place, that causes glitches like that
1) Filesize: It must be below filesize of the original file; best ways to lower filesize are lowering texture resolution, reducing textures to compressed types such as CMPR, and lowering polycount 2) Bone Count: It must have at least the same number of bones as the original character, if not more; it's very good practice to match the bone hierarchies anyways 3) Compression Type: Double-check if it should be LZ77, or Extended LZ77, this one's less common, but the incorrect compression type (Because .pcs files are compressed and .pacs are not) will in fact cause a crash
I do commissions for animations, but only through Blender, I don't charge for the conversion part (And I haven't experimented with the conversions yet either); on top of that, I have a super long waitlist that's currently a couple months long or so, but if both those things are fine, you can check more info such as my pricing on my website
Do you have a picture of what you mean? Also, I usually only check the forum once a week, so for prompt response and even helpful pictures, add me on Discord and ask me there: Windhunter#3141
Wow, I can't believe I've been completely forgetting to post here about my updates, but there is now a full video on how to do it (Although it's not clipped and doesn't have sound, so is kinda long), but it is a full video that covers everything you should need for the basics, and these recent updates of mine to the tutorial, as well as the video, also include what I just added today, which is a copy of the Drive with the preset files already officially existing, as well as an additional FAQ on how to create these (And some other FAQs I added)
The preset files link is located under "Required Programs"
So, the reasons it looks like that in-game vs. Brres Viewer is the same reason it'll also look like that (Defaultly) in Blender or C4D, because it uses textures called reflective maps, that give it its shininess, and because those are the first texture listed under the multi-texture material in Brawlbox/crate, it's the only texture shown in Brres Viewer/Blender/C4D; don't worry about the UVs, they are still 100% in-tact, but what I would recommend, since Blender, C4D, and Brawl all use different aspects of materials to simulate reflectivity, is to port it from Brres Viewer as planned, but then change the texture to ONLY the diffuse texture (I'm guessing there were multiple textures? If not, just leave it as textureless for now then), and then, depending on if you want to use C4D or Blender, use that particular program's material types to generate the reflectivity
Just keep in mind that materials are different in different programs when it comes to advanced materials such as this one, so it's more important to retain the geometry and UVs than anything else in this case
You could alternatively also replace the MDL0 of Nana with an MDL0 that is only a single vertex, and remove all her hurtboxes and hitboxes, and that would also work; but if you're not bad at code edits, it's heckalot easier to do just that, like Lillith said
In my opinion, the reason the forums are relatively dead are mainly because by now, we've spent so many years developing various methods of doing just about anything with Brawl mods by now, and even the stuff that never used to be possible is now even highly efficient, so people have not very many reasons to post for help anymore, and it's we veterans who are the majority of the mod makers, so we already know each other so no need for introductions. That, and with that there are literally at least three different Discords for members from kc-mm, we're chatting on there a lot and almost none on the forums, which is actually really good, considering how many bots we now have on the forums.
Um, what were the exact steps you did to make the "palette swap"? Because it looks to me like he's loading two models at the same time, but for a palette swap, it's only textures that you need to edit, not models
I agree with KJP, Smashboards is mostly centered around tournaments, not really modding, and then GameBanana isn't nearly as big of a hub for Smash games, cause it has like a bajillion games on it, it kinda makes sense to transition the Vault and forums to be about all Smash games
