Dont ask him about his job. That's serious business. So serious in fact that it's the law. And yeah it wouldnt bother me either. Post counts are lame

Yeah that's what Im saying. But with the way he spells do you expect him to listen well? You should probably just ban the account if you actually want him to stop

What is with these ghost topics lately?Oh. Okay.

Also, http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=33640.0
What the hell is this [censored]?
I locked it, but WHAT THE HELL.

SmashHackers, show your face. You've showed me this before.

Haha XD You know the guy who drew my profile pic? Yeah that was him lol. Sorry, I apologize for his bizarre and unreadable drawings. I think it translates to something about Miacis banning people but it's pretty unreadable

So are we arguing for the sake of arguing, or...?

It's very easy to understate our work when you're not the one doing it. It's very easy to say that we should have time when you know nothing about us. This isn't accomplishing anything.

We already admitted, about 3 pages ago, that we haven't been keeping a tight rein on the busier boards and that we're working on remedying the problem. I don't see why this discussion is still going on, apart from sheer, directionless belligerence.
Yes we are quite belligerent. Actually...do I have permission to make a thread all about this kind of stuff? Where we can just complain all day and nobody gets in trouble? I mean for like off topic and stuff. Of course rules apply and stuff but I mean people can just say whatever belligerent stuff we want and not get in trouble. Sounds like a blast.  please dont moderate me for asking this question
7  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 07:25:41 PM
I see people power mad on other sites before, i find them jerks and yes find a person who is trustworthy.
Yeah I hate those power people. The ones who act like they ARE the law. Well I hope they find trustworthy people too
8  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 06:14:23 PM

Please explain its irrelevance, it took work to set up.

It doesn't matter if its necessary.  You could really say the exact same thing for almost every feature on the forums, including Brawl vault.

Now quit your trolling.
You tell me to not believe everything I read in then use your most common attack, post removal. Going to lock the topic next I assume? Also in case you removed it by accident I said that Im not trolling and really want to be your sidekick.
9  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 05:48:04 PM

You shouldn't believe everything you read in comics.

Does it matter?

Its still something we did for users here, and most people seem to like it.
I must be a psychic. I predicted that you would come in with a very meaningful but somewhat irrelevent post. Can I be your sidekick, hero?
10  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 05:44:56 PM
That's probably due more to having an average of 122 users online every day, half (or more) of them guests and bots.

I don't know our exact server specs, but I'm pretty sure they're not great. The 500 error is due to overall bandwidth shortages.
Ah makes sense. Well thanks for clearing that up before Oizen the best mod ever/hero comes in and posts something very meaningful yet somewhat irrelevent
11  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 05:34:50 PM
Oizen actually does going around warning people as a moderator so i think hes doing his job properly
besides its not like the family thread is going to kill you or something so why bother?
Cool story bro. And of course it won't kill me but it does make my visits here less enjoyable. First that it feels creepy knowing Im on the same forums as people role playing and second that isnt it not partially the cause of the error 500? This isn't really family related though. I know how seriously you family members take the thread seriously but that's kinda irrelevent to the current discussion. But thank Oizen the best mod we have for setting the discussion over to the family thread Awesome Face
Oh and yeah Oizen. What could we ever do without that award system? Bots. Yeah bots for sure. Couldnt possibly be anything else
12  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 05:29:49 PM
If we had all day to spend doing this, then no, it would not be a lot of work.

But that's not the case.
True story bro. Maybe you should find more people then. People who dont basically complain about being overworked/brag about all the stuff they do then state that theyre not complaining. And yeah you Oizen. You do the most here. A true hero. I can't take your level of hero-ocity for granted. Other people may but you battle through all the leachers and people who take it for granted and pull through and maintain a large crowd of fans that respect all the work you do here. Good job.
13  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 05:18:49 PM

So your hate really boils down to being butthurt about the existence of the family thread? Why bring up such an irrelevant detail?
Are we not allowed to enjoy the forum now?

Thats actually a lot of work believe it or not, especially for a forum thats nothing but a hobby.I honestly don't think you realize that there is nothing in this for us.
Theres no single way to do everything, and then there are people who seem to fight the staff for the sake of fighting power and nothing more. I mean the endless drama over something so stupid like post counts is a great example.

You guys take everything for granted.
What? How does this have anything to do with my hatred for the unneeded family thread that does nothing but cause drama and errors on the forums? Im simply stating that he really doesnt make it sound like much work running the place.
14  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: September 27, 2011, 04:34:29 PM
Possible (temporary ?) solution : keep a copy of the deleted post before you delete it, then use the Serach function inside the Recycle Bin, with relevant pieces of said post.
All right. Comparison ? Let's compare our work then.

You : Roaming around the threads, finding rule-breaking stuff to report.

Me :
- Replying to my constant stream of moderation/admin-related PMs. Which includes typical forum questions, BV moderation and reports handling, and general [censored]ing.
- Approving Moderated posts.
- Taking care of Reports in the Reported Posts boards.
- Coming here on this thread to talk with you guys because we don't heartlessly ignore you anymore.
- Discussing new ideas or the implementation of new concepts for the boards 1) In the Admin section 2) on MSN with Vyse.
- Discussing more complicated cases of users to find suitable sanctions.
- Hunting some multi-accounts.
(- Taking care of awards.)
- There are also some conflicts where I personnally have to solve myself when the two opposite sides are completely closed to conversation. And believe me, this is the kinda task that takes the most time.

I am NOT complaining about my "job" here. It's truly an everyday pride and joy for me to come here and help this place, even when it gets tough sometimes.
I'm just reminding you that Admins and also Global moderators have much more to do these days than "just roaming around the boards". So yeah, if you guys can help us to do all of this a bit more quickly, it would be a great help, really. It's easy to just roam around the boards, but we're not just doing easy stuff.

So please compare what is comparable.

***

Also, yeah, we're starting to look for something like 5-6 local mods to patroll around the threads where we don't have the time to go. That should help to provide a good "neighboorhood moderation" while we take care of the bigger stuff, and ease the contact with users

What a hero. Although all of that doesnt sound too hard, just sounds like a long list. You also always have time for roaming/lurking and posting in the family thread so I really doubt there are any major difficulties in your job. And since supposedly most of the reports are from there, it's hard to believe you don't notice, since that's the board you frequent at most. Also I didnt make this but thought it fit in well here
