Is there ANY way that we could use 3DS Max 8 to export the .dae correctly? Or is there another program we could use? Because I really hate the fact that I'm going to have to spend more money to upgrade my 3DS Max...

What do you mean by reanimated? As in like if I have any animations, they can't be imported? Cause if so I don't mind, but all my models are already rigged.

Wait, what if my models are already rigged? Would I have to like re-rig them to one of the Brawl characters rigs? Or could I just simply import after fixing some things in 3DS?

KK, I willz check it out. I've tried rigging thing before in Blender(which I consider the workflow in Blender to be more efficient than 3DS) and I had some trouble with it. So yea, I'm prolly gonna stay up like for 42 hours learning the most I can IDK whatev works  Tongue

I've been informed that we can now import .dae models, and I'm interested! Grin But I have questions.
From what I've read and watched (which isn't that much so far) these are the questions I got:

Do you have to have 3DS Max 2010-11? I have 8, and I'm guessing we can't use that.
Will it work in game? What have people imported that worked?EDIT: Just now noticed the "Model Imports" thread...  Tongue
And lastly, is it considered easy to do? I have a **** ton of Final Fantasy X and X-2 models that I would love to see in Brawl! Seriously, a TON OF MODELS!!!! Grin

Ahaha, I don't think that the copying is possible, I don't remeber if I tried it or not, but from what I recall its not. I would love that feature! It would make copying attacks 100x easier!

Yea just open one .pac with one window of PSA and open a second window of PSA and open the other .pac.
Anymore questions?

First off the program that you are going to use is called "PSA" which stands for "Project Smash Attacks". You open the .pac file with this program (the file that should be named like FitPeach.pac(no numbers)) and go to the attack and change the damage there. But first you need PSA.

11  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Help with Collada on: January 17, 2011, 12:37:47 AM
FIXED it couldn't find it because I have a 64x bit. But I looked around on here and Miacis Kusanagi had a vertexing guide and it said something about that in there and then attached a link for an installer that worked! If anyone else needs it, click HERE.
12  Help & Tutorials / Help / Help with Collada. {FIXED} on: January 17, 2011, 12:20:20 AM
I'm EXTREMELY new on the 3DS Max vertexing and I downloaded the Collada that Mariokart64n provided but when I got to install it, it says:
Warning:  This plugin is compiled for Autodesk 3ds Max 2009, 2008, 9.0, 8.0 and 7.0.\nNeither were detected. You can still install the source code\nand documentation, and copy the plugin files manually.

So I click OK. It installs, and when I open up 3DS Max 8 and try to import something, .dae doesn't show up as an import! Is there some other way to import .dae's that I should be doing or is it something else? All help apreciated.
13  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: What program is used for a retexture? on: January 17, 2011, 12:13:22 AM
I just bought Photoshop CS5, so I think thats gonna top my chart lol. But before I got that I used Paint.net in collaboration with Gimp to make all my previous textures. Their both pretty reliable.

Wow... Amazing much better than my video about, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that stills uses Anim8or, now if someone could just make it to where we could view the model as a whole and not just the vertices! That would be a miracle! We wouldn't have to worry about "buying" 3DS Max! And Anim8or takes up way less disk space, as an extra bonus lol.
