I like the idea of Dark Link. However, although it makes sense for Dark Link to have dark-based attacks, wouldn't it also make sense for him to have a few attacks based off of the spells from Zelda 2? He could have reflect for his side-special, fire for his special, thunder for his final smash. These are just a few ideas I've had for a possible Dark Link PSA. I honestly would like to make a character PSA...I just have no idea of how to do that type of thing, although I am interested in learning it.
I'm free whenever. Should I send you a Link to the retro medlies of Zelda 1 and 2 in a PM? (pun intended.) I just have to slightly recreate them since I am personally unsatisfied with what I have created. For example, when it goes from overworld to dungeon in Zelda 1, it sounds like it's switching from 8-bit to 16-bit.
Being the huge Zelda fanatic I am, mind if I help with the project? I personally believe I can be a help in the musical department since I can make retro medlies. I did make them for Zelda 1 and 2, but never shared them. Heck, I don't mind if I am the musical importer for the game. After all — Zelda music is good music. I may be able to help with Sound FX, but I'm not the besr with Sound FX, to be honest — that's a very limited area of mine.
i heard you need retro stuff and that music was on the list. i figured i could contribute in that department. i make songs to be played on a Sega Genesis, and by that i mean if you can get the song song file on a Genesis it will play 99.9% like this. i even test them in a emulator for the Genesis. here is a link to a song that i made. https://soundcloud.com/lil-g-gamegenuis/super-sneakers-16-bit. feel free to listen to the other songs i've uploaded so far. for some you may have to boost the sound since these songs were designed sometimes weeks apart. i'm also experienced in animating but i've never animated for brawl before so if i can get a feel for the program i can also help with that too.
I honestly much appreciate the help in thr music department. I'm not that well-versed in music despite having around 923 video game songs. But I can mix together 8-bit medlies (like the Kid Icarus Original Medley and Smash 4 Retro Medley). In any case, welcome to the team, lilggamegenius! I'm still in a slight planning stage in the moment, so you don't have to work on music yet because there are some things I want to work out first with Brawl modding (i.e.: Errors I had with replacing certain stages). If you want a list of songs I would like some help with, just shoot me a PM and I'll send you a list. Thanks for volunteering! - Ultra
I am proud to introduce two new characters into Project: Retro ReMIX!
We have everybody's favourite Blue Bomber busting in, it's Mega Man, and he is replacing Snake! For our second character, we have the possessed child from the land of Termina and Hyrule, Skull Kid, and he is replacing Toon Link!
Hey everyone I am UltraN64. I am working on a mod called "Super Smash Bros.: Retro ReMIX". In this mod I plan to replace most stages, and I can't do that. Some stages just seem to "black out" when I replace them.
Let's choose Pokémon Stadium 1 for example. When I replace that stage, it retains the exact same layout, platforms, transformations that it normally has. But the only difference is that the entire stage is black with the exception of the fighters. This happens on a variety of stages too, not just Stadium 1.
It happens on: Pokemon Stadium Pokemon Stadium 2 Spear Pillar (except when it's replaced by a stage which used Spear Pillar as a base). Mario Circuit 75m Halberd Lylay Cruise WarioWare (all though this is a bit different, I'll explain later) New Pork City Smashville Rainbow Cruise ————— All of those stages are the exact same, but, they just pitch-black and you see nothing but the fighters! Now, WarioWare is different, like I said. In WarioWare, what happens is everyone is caught in a permanent death loop. As soon as the characters spawn, they die and this keeps on happening until stock is out, or time is up. There are no platforms or anything in WarioWare. Just constant, repeated, unavoidable death. ————— All the help that I can get would be appreciated. Thanks, and have a good day. - Ultra
When I try to load this up on HBC, I click Project M Launcher, and then it takes me to the PM interface. I click play, and it goes black for a minute, starts up, goes to the regular Brawl interface, and the character is not there anymore. Can someone help? I'm using an 8GB SDHC card, and all I did was copy the downloaded files, and tried to add Goku by MrUnusual, Maxi, SiLeNtDo0m, DivineOverlord, Jaklub, Mariodk, BigBadBooya, diedhammer98, Dot with credit to MarioDK, Beyond, SiLeNtDo0m, divineoverlord, Jaklub, BigBadBooya, ads15, KTH, Diedhammer98, 2DaMax92. I don't exactly know much about adding characters.
I can help you with that. Though Nintendo Wii mods can support 8GB SD cards, some games were made that can not support 8GB SD Cards, usually early Nintendo Wii games can not support 8GB. And Brawl can not support 8GB SD cards, sadly. A 2GB SD card (or lower) is guaranteed to work with Brawl. If you have a Nintendo 3DS and have not changed the SD Cards around, there should be a 2GB SD card in there by default. Just swap the files on the SD cards and put the 8GB SD Card in your 3DS and 2GB in your Wii or Wii U.
If you're playing on Nintendo Wii U, I should note that you have to boot up Virtual Wii Mode, then insert the SD card, because for some reason, then the SD Card won't be picked up or something like that.
Skull Kid(Majora's Mask), the Happy Mask Salesman(Ocarina of Time), and some of the Ocarina of Time bosses(Like Volvagia, for example) would be awesome to include!
I honestly never thought of adding Skull Kid at all. I'll give the PSA a test run after I finishing downloading my Brawl NTSC ISO (since I have a legit PAL version of Brawl).
Hello everybody! I am a fairly new user around the forums, I am UltraN64. I have been making personal Brawl hacks for a while now and ever since I saw Project M I wanted to make my own Brawl hack pack designed by retro games, but decided I need help with it ... lots of help.
Obviously, Retro ReMIX is going to extremely heavy on the retro material from characters to levels to music. I've been working by myself for the most part of the planning stage but have not come near close to starting, as I have some problems with Smash Bros. Brawl modding. For example, whenever I import a stage over WarioWare Inc. the characters are stuck in an infinite death loop until they run out of stock or time and some other stages which I will explain later on.
Some help with this mod would be much appreciated. Stage and character suggestions are welcome to the characters and stages that are listed as [free] in the spoiler stages for their respective topic. However, I would like to note that the franchise must have at least been on a retro Nintendo system ONCE (I define retro as Nintendo 64 / PS1 and prior). For example, Serge from Chrono Cross (PS1) is on the character roster because Chrono Trigger was on the SNES.

Boss Battles: Ridley and Meta Ridley are replaced by Super Metroid-styled versions of their respective versions
Other SSE Stuff
Overworld map is recreated in a similar format to the overworld from Final Fantasy (NES) and uses the overworld theme from Final Fantasy 1 [NES] Cutscenes are all remade in 8-bit sprite animation. Some sprites are 16-bit, mainly due to not having 8-bit sprites (i.e.: Diddy Kong)
I will admit this is a lot of work, but even some minor help would be much appreciated with this project. Help or support, either way, would be much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this stuff. Have a good day - UltraN64
