just a suggestion: most of us know how the original characters look, so the "before" and "after" thing isn't necessary. Just post the pictures labeled "after". Anyways, nice job, and welcome to the site. I'd take Hollow's advice and take more time on hacks, if you're able to. Just wondering, what program are you using to make the textures? Photoshop, Gimp, paint.net, something else?
first off, you need to delete all the fitmario.pac fitluigi.pac etc; these are the edited movesets. If there are any fitmariomotionetc.pac then delete those as well; sometimes these have edited article traits. For the rest, you'll need to have code editor to get rid of some of the universal codes that can affect techs, wall-jumps, hitstun, and some other stuff. Go to the resources page in BrawlVault, and download the code manager, if you don't already have it, and find a .txt file of the B+ codeset you have. Open up the codes in the .txt and remove the ones you don't want (should be self-explanatory) and export the new set of codes as a .txt and a .gct (the .txt lets you edit it in the future, the .gct is what is actually used by Brawl).
Hopefully this explains everything. If you still need help, feel free to ask more questions or for further detail on instructions.
The CSS was intentional. The new Brawl minus should have come with an alternate CSS that was like the previous versions.
As for the physics and textures, I'm not sure what to say. Perhaps your filepaths are wrong? (you might have accidentally used the files meant for Riivolution). Idk though to be honest.
you could do some star wars hacks. I'm sure you'd get lots of downloads. Someone like Obi-Wan or Luke in Jedi robes would work, and accompany Darth Vader really well.
You could always go for some original ideas as well.
project M has its own gecko loader and to get it you need to go to the stage builder option only on a US brawl disk without loading with anything else gecko riivolution ect
So, correct me if I'm wrong, you're unable to install gecko/riivolution since you can't access the US Brawl's stage builder on your PAL wii?
for whatever reason, I'm unable to select the edited polygon when using the morph tool on the unedited one. It doesn't appear on the "Select by Name" screen, and it doesn't do anything if I click on it. I even typed it in, and that doesn't work either. Am I doing something wrong when I clone it? It's a copy (not an instance or reference).
Personally I would release them separately. I, myself, and I'm sure some other people, look through the music hack section regularly and listen to previews to find songs we like. Putting it in a pack requires you to download it, then listen, which is a bit much. If you want to have packs for new brawl hackers, just put a link inside the description and in your thread. I understand you don't want to clutter your vault with music, but most of it already is, so you might as well. Even if you had other types of hacks, it'd be easy to find them since most other types of hacks are downloaded more than music; the most downloaded button could be used to find something in your profile's vault.
hope this helps. If you're looking for an entirely different genre of music for this stage, just let me know, and I'll see what I have for that. I look through virtually every new song in the Vault nowadays, so I've found quite a lot I've liked and downloaded. I might be a bit biased though in genre of music. But whatever.
Riivolution allows SFX hacking (character/announcer voices, sound effects) and THP hacking (custom videos, like replacing the opening Brawl one). I haven't used Riivolution and I'm sure there's more than just that however. Gecko OS is probably more popular, but there are easy setups that allow you to switch to Riivolution without changing (hardly) any filepaths. I think Riivolution may have issues with a few things though. But as far as I know, that's it.
hey there. I just thought I might post this. Feel free to give feedback.
It's a hamster vertex of pikachu. I changed the ears, snout, mouth, and puffed the cheeks out a bit. Not pictured: I made pikachu's tail a small stump like what a hamster has.
As for making whiskers, I'm not sure what to do. I could leave them out, and simply put some dots on Pikachu's cheeks to suggest them, or I could make a thin spike protruding from his cheek, and another whisker on each side from the vertexes for his tongue (I'm pretty sure DasDonkey Team did this for the Mexican Bicentennial Pikachu's mustache).
I do plan to further develop the texture. Specifically, I'm probably going to work a lot on its eyes to give a realistic, hamster feel. I might include another version with cartoonish eyes (not recolors of pika's, completely done by me). That's pretty much it.
One quick question though; is it possible to texture pikachu's hands from the wrist outwards a different color? I'm not sure where the texture mapping is for his hands, and whether or not it's shared with some other crap like his back or stomach.
So is there any way for me to shape one half to another without the symmetry modifier, other than manually copying and pasting the points across the axis?
I remember something about a mold tool in some version of 3ds max (perhaps a newer one). Would I be able to copy the polygon, flip it, and mold the original to the copied one?
