181  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: jokekid's jokes UPDATE! toon ganon finished release soon on: April 19, 2011, 09:01:53 PM
Pikachu sucks to export but i may think about making a dog over someone else
What happens if you do export Pikachu? I just picked up vertexing and I'm making a hamster over Pikachu at the moment. Will I just have to patch it a bunch of times?
182  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Downloading on: April 17, 2011, 04:08:57 PM
I notice that people are able to download hacks of SSBB characters. I'm unsure of how to download them. can anyone explain how to do it? I would appreciate it greatly.

Go to the Brawl Vault, and find the hack you want. Click on the hack's name/title (in blue) which will redirect you to a download.

If you don't know how to install them, then look at this guide:

Just a few ideas if you're running dry idea-wise.

His forward smash could be the way he jumps up and slams forward with his arms (0:16 or so in the following vid)
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOUhGcsHqDM" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOUhGcsHqDM</a>

down smash
shoots at the ground a few times (2:48)
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9K5L-UgKpc" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9K5L-UgKpc</a>

His up smash could be him shooting up in the air above him, then at the ground in a two-hitbox attack? (the hitbox above and below would NOT be projectiles, only a kind of explosion/smoke puff.) (0:21)
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eo0OY8GOuc" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eo0OY8GOuc</a>

a-a-a combo
shoots at an angle down at the ground (1:07)
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlKPgtO6oYw" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlKPgtO6oYw</a>

sorry for the long post
Edit: videos in spoilers to take up less room.
184  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: USBLoader 256 line limit :O? on: April 10, 2011, 03:21:48 PM
already have a gameconfig...but it doesn't work...

when I load brawl it just loads brawl withouthacks, and yes ocarina is ON, but I still got that error message that I have to many lines...
can it be that the problem is my sd card that isn't the right format or something, its currently on FAT...
Did you rename the RSB?01 to RSBE01 (only if you're NTSC-U; or for NTSC-J, "RSBJ01"; for PAL.... i forget.)
I had a problem with that in the past and didn't realize it for a while later.

Oh my gosh, Snoopy looks awesome!
I might even bring back Olimar as a character (he's replaced by Naruto atm).
Keep up the good work

Cool. Looks nice.

For the most part, who do you think you'll work on next?
187  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Gecko isn't working? on: April 02, 2011, 02:54:38 PM
You'll have to give more information.

Did you add anything onto your SD card since last playing with Gecko?
Do you use Homebrew Channel or load through the Stage Builder editor, or another method?
Are textures the only thing that do not work (and do you have any other hacks other than retextures)?
You can add anything else you think is relevant.

you could vertex the pikmin into these guys:

Personally I think that'd work fine.
189  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Good Day. A small issue on: March 31, 2011, 03:42:48 PM
I wouldn't know anything about how brawlbox's animation would end up giving that result.
However, for those that have knowledge around the issue, it would help to put up the motionetc on mediafire or somewhere so others could look at it. Otherwise, there's less of a chance someone can help you.
190  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: My textures on: March 31, 2011, 03:30:01 PM
Hey there Yoshij1

Here are my thoughts on the textures:
Ekans: I'm not into pokemon, so I looked up "Ekans" and found a picture of him. I suppose it's an okay representation of him. Obviously since pokemon is more of a manga style, he has solid colors and not really shading or blending colors. I would tone the pink down a bit though; the picture I have has Ekans with a less saturated and slightly more purple pink. You probably could edit his tail too if you wanted to make it yellow to imitate him.

Yoshi: From the looks of it, you edited exclusively his shoes, saddle, and hands (although it's possible you darkened yoshi's green color; it looks a bit darker for whatever reason. Maybe it's just me). Again, I'd avoid such bright, pure colors. Neon green is fine, but if you end up using colors with maximum saturation (ie 00FF00) then it won't look too professional. Throwing in a tad of yellow could help bring it out some, if you wanted.
here's a good example of the color blending I mean;

The orange and white aren't a solid color and look more realistic.

In general that's pretty much it. I saw your Cop Cartman and Kirby Raeg, which I personally like better. It'd be neat to see more original creations of yours, especially ones that retexture a large portion of the character. One very useful thing I've found when hacking is to look at vertexed models others have made, and use one as a base (with permission of course). That way, you're not as limited by the designs of the original brawl characters.

Anyways, keep up the texture work. I'm glad you're open to criticism; it really has helped me out with improvement in art.
191  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: How i remove the scarf of Captain Falcon? on: March 25, 2011, 01:35:19 PM
I'm pretty certain someone's already done a scarfless CF. Just search around on the Vault or forums.
192  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: A Little Question Help Plz :) on: March 21, 2011, 03:54:41 PM
I think it needs to be a timed match
193  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Portakalo's Gallery (Newest: Rocko and O'Chunks - Super Paper Mario) on: March 20, 2011, 06:33:57 PM
I just found your Watermelon Bowser texture. Nice job; I love how original the idea is
194  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: KingJigglypuff's PSA Ideas Topic-Rayquaza is Canceled on: March 19, 2011, 06:53:58 PM
Idk, would you want to do Boba Fett (from Star Wars)?
195  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Very nooby question. on: March 19, 2011, 06:34:12 PM
My suggestion;
go to smashmods.com and download one of their premade packs for brawl; from there, it's easy to modify textures, remove the movesets you don't like (or replace them), and whatnot. If you download a premade pack, you don't need to worry about getting all the codes and figuring out as much on your own.
