Just wait a bit and sooner or later a code will be made so that the game will try to load these costumes if they are referenced, then it may just be a matter of adding CSS slots....
It's a good thing that PAT0 editing is functional since it can also work for the CSS if what Dant stated a while ago is anything o go by.  Smiley

yeah. It'd be amazing if we could load extra character slots through CSS the same way that extra stages have been added to SSS. Hopefully there aren't any weird file size limits though that would interfere.
197  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: New to all this. Need help. on: March 14, 2011, 05:25:55 PM
so if i download a pre-made pack, i just extract it to my SD card, pop it into my Wii, go to homebrew channel, then gecko, and launch game, and everything should work effectively? Do i still need to have the install patch option set to yes?

Edit: I went to the misc section on the site and noticed a bunch of packs, which one should i download? I dont think i need the music packs. Any recommendations? I just need something to make sure i have all the character info in the right places.
just use smashmods.com and go to bbrawl or brawl+
they have all the directories set up.

Still need help. Have no idea what i'm doing wrong, can anyone help me out?
You might just want to download a pre-made pack, either on the Vault (check the misc. section) or at smashmods.com
Brawl+, Brawl-, and Balanced Brawl are all popular, good hacks. I'd recommend balanced brawl (or maybe brawl+); if you don't like the movesets, just delete them.
From there, all the directories and codes should be in the right place, so unless there's something extremely messed up, it should work.
199  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: SDo0m's Dark Void: CHOOSE THE FAR FUTURE PROJECT on: March 14, 2011, 03:21:30 PM
Hmmm....tbh I was hoping this poll would last a little longer....

Ok, now it's 30 to win Tongue  It was 25 before, but now it's 30.

Sorry SDo0m, but Zero will win that poll anyway so why keeping it opened? We all know who is gonna win.

You'd be suprised.  Somebody could still make an upset if people decide...that...they're not gonna....vote for....

Meh, I got nothing.  I just wanted to keep the poll up for the sake of it.  If Zero's gonna win, he's gonna do it in style XD
for fairness's sake, why don't you do another poll of the top 3 choices? I'm sure there are people who wasted their vote and have a second pick.

There's 60 something votes at the moment; if everyone voted again, and only those 21 who wanted Zero still choose Zero, the other two could tie with him.
200  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: FFVII Cloud Strife finished! Download from OP to test files! on: March 14, 2011, 02:04:50 PM
This is amazing.

I literally just started using PSAs outside of Brawl+,-, and balanced, like Sephiroth and Naruto. Maybe two days ago I downloaded Cloud and was impressed. However, many of his animations were clunky, and although decent, you could tell they weren't done by Nintendo or anything. That, along with some stuff in the moveset, led to me trying it out for a day, and I decided to remove him from my SD.

I just saw your youtube video and was shocked. Everything I criticized about Cloud before was completely fixed. The moveset looks great.
Most of all, the animations are astounding.
I can't tell you how awesome they look. I honestly would have thought this was made by Nintendo if I saw this when I got Brawl.

Just... yeah.
Really great work.

It's funny, I'm not even a Final Fantasy fan, but this has got to be the best version of an add-on character to Brawl I've seen so far.

Edit:
I just tested him out (download and everything worked) and it's amazing.
His playstyle is most similar to Ike, Pit, and Zelda. Ike's range/power, Pit's combos, Zelda's magic.
I can successfully beat him as a level 9 with my mains, so he seems considerably balanced (I use Brawl-). As for vBrawl, he'd probably be in the same tier as Metaknight.

I'm definitely keeping him.
201  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Has anyone ever thought of this? on: March 12, 2011, 05:27:11 PM
no, just no.
Too complex to code, would not have the same features of a decent 3d modeling program.

It's like asking to be able to texture inside of BrawlBox, instead of exporting and modifying it in Photoshop.
202  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Asymmetrical face? on: March 12, 2011, 05:03:36 PM
I know of one for kirby that had a scar across one of his eyes.

To my knowledge, asymmetrical faces use hexing to make final smash eyes or textures always appear.
I'm sure there's other methods though, especially considering that the previously mentioned method would only limit asymmetrical faces to around the eye area. For characters like snake, who have a different model all together for eyes, you'd probably be even more limited.

found it:

and VILE's right. it involves changing the UV map.
203  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: [Good News, Bad News!] BetweenYou's ambitious Projects on: March 12, 2011, 04:12:32 PM
surgery= going to a hospital and having a doctor take apart your body

Technically, Psycho Philia's grammatical use of the word is incorrect ("on surgery"). People "go through" surgery, or "have" surgery.

Haha, same here. Nice job on this so far.
205  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Snoopy's Stuff - Bomberman and Adeline! on: March 08, 2011, 05:35:47 PM
wow i never expected you to vertex, and your pretty good at it.

Yes. That's the best version of Bomberman I've seen.
Definitely. I love that it's finally on Toon Link.
206  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Netflix on wii on: March 08, 2011, 05:34:35 PM
the latest version of the homebrew channel isn't affected by system updates. I recently installed the Netflix channel perfectly fine, while still retaining the HBC.
207  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: [ MRKRG 10 VERTEX HACK !!! ] on: March 08, 2011, 05:32:13 PM
awesome stuff here. I really can't wait to see what you do either.
208  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: How would I be able to make something Semi-Transparent? on: March 07, 2011, 05:04:02 PM
perhaps you could just make them dark tinted windows?
it's possible to have partial emerald textures on a model, right? So the windshield could have an emerald texture to give the illusion of a reflection (being that the texture wouldn't be static when camera angle changes). Then the rest of the car could be colored normally.
209  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: MANSTA8's 1337 H4x0r stuff on: March 01, 2011, 09:52:47 PM
you've got some nice stuff. Keep up the good work.

Thanks a bunch for fixing Pik's M:OM Zamus.
Anyways, you have a lot of great hacks yourself, with all your stages and characters, so keep it up.
