1  Help & Tutorials / Help / [SOLVED] Too Many Lines of Code? How do I fix this? on: February 16, 2015, 09:12:14 PM
Hi all!

SO I'm using the 'Ocarina Cheat Code Manager', and I've put in the codes I need, but when I go to try and export the file to a GCT, I get a message saying 'More then 256 lines of code active! Please Select Less Codes!'

Is there any way I can work around this? For reference, I'm trying to use the 'File Patch Code' (the one included in the BrawlEx Clone Manager), the 'Unrestricted Pause Camera Code', the 'SDHC Extension Code', and the 'Replacement SoundBank Engine Code', all of which are kind of necessary.

I really hope there's a way, as I wish to include more codes in the future relating to adding additional stages into the game
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / Can I make characters not 2D on stages put over Flat Zone 2 + Hannenbow? on: February 11, 2015, 10:17:45 PM
Hi everyone!

Is there any way to make stages that are put over Flat Zone 2 and Hannenbow not make the characters 2D? The stages themselves aren't flat 2D stages (They're Budokai Tenkaichi over Flat Zone 2, and Poke Floats 2 over Hannenbow) but the characters still appear as 2D when played.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / Can I edit the blast zones of a stage? How? + Can I replace Lylat Cruise? on: January 31, 2015, 04:02:10 PM
Hi everyone!

I'm updating my stages, and have two quick questions.

1) I've put in Scout's 'Crateria' stage (over summit), and the stage plays fine, but seems too high up - you enter the sky blast zone really quickly, although get K.O's at a reasonable percentage. I think this may have something to do with the stage being made for PM 3.5, but I run vanilla Brawl. Can I use BrawlBox to edit this somehow - like position the stage lower or the screen higher?

1.5) (BONUS QUESTION) I also use the Budokai Tenkaichi stage, where the grass = death. I love this stage, but the screen goes REALLY high - to the point where the characters on the arena are covered by the HUD. Is there any way I can make the screen lower, or move the stage higher up?

2) I really dislike Lylat Cruise, but have no clue how to go about putting another stage over it, as anytime I do it freezes. I have no problems with any other stage - just this one. Any ideas? I really want to put Sector Z over it
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Removing names from CSP - I forget how to do this on: January 30, 2015, 05:12:45 AM
Hey everyone!

Haven't done this for a while. How do I remove the names that appear on the CSP when a character is selected? I'm not referring to the names above the icons, but the names that appear over the CSP (the part where if you click it, you change colour/costume).

Also, is there a way to get rid of the 'READY TO BATTLE' thing that pops up once 2 or more characters are selected?

I've still got issues with my selmap.pac, but once I'm able to get rid of those names my CSS will be complete.

Thanks to anyone that can help!
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / File Size Limits, and how to reduce file size on: January 19, 2015, 12:23:34 AM
Hi everyone!

I'm about to embark on a new build of Brawl using BrawlEx, and wanted to get clarification on something before I start.

What are the file size limits for the important files, like the sc_selcharacter.pac and sc_selmap.pac? Also, how do you reduce the file size for these files (selmap especially)?
6  Help & Tutorials / Help / Noobish Extra Stages Quetsion on: December 24, 2014, 01:33:27 AM
Hey everyone!

As the title implies, stupid question incoming. What is the best way to add additional stages to Brawl if I'm also using BrawlEX? I've never tried to add extra stages (meaning more then was included in the game to begin with, not just placing a stage over a pre-existing one) and not sure where to start  Kirby Dance
7  Help & Tutorials / Help / SSS Not Loading Images? on: October 27, 2014, 05:49:50 PM
Hi everyone!

So I'm not too sure why this is, but the smaller map preview icons for my Stage Select Screen (the 64x56 sized images - the ones you select to actually choose the stage to play on) are not appearing at all. They all contain the same blank box, but when you hover the cursor over a stage, the name of the stage (my custom named stages, not the default names) appear within the box, as well as all the other boxes on the screen.

This isn't too gamebreaking, as there is no freezing and the larger preview pictures I put in (the 176x176 sized images that appear on the side) load up fine, but it is rather ugly looking and I'd prefer to have the actual stage images.

Any ideas? Could it have something to do with the format I chose for the pictures (I chose CMPR to save file size - that may be the problem actually) or anything like that? I know the sizes are all correct and I've never had any issues with stage icons before
8  Help & Tutorials / Help / How to install a Save Game FIle? on: October 20, 2014, 05:22:15 PM
Hello everyone!

So I'm attempting to load an 100% save file for Brawl onto my wii, as I don't really want to go through the process of unlocking all the music files again (Using a new version of the game - switched from RSBP to RSBE), but don't really know how to go about this. I downloaded a file from wiisaves that contained the following files:

ADVSVO.bin
ADVSV1.bin
AUTOSV0.bin
AUTOSV1.bin
BANNER.bin
COLLECT.VFF
FILELIST.DAT
NET0.bin
NET1.bin
WC24PUBK.MOD

I also downloaded SaveManager GX and have that working fine from the homebrew channel.

So my question is, what do I do with these files, and how do I use SaveManager GX to make the new save? Like I'm not sure if I need to edit the files I downloaded in any way, or where to put them on the sd card, or which files are needed, or what the hell I'm doing with it all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Kirby Dance
9  Help & Tutorials / Help / How big an SD card can be used? on: September 26, 2014, 08:39:17 PM
Hi guys!

So I'm just wondering if it's possible to use an SD Card that's bigger then 2GB with Brawl. I feel like 2GB (Well probably closer to 1.6 GB given other things that need to be on there) just isn't enough room to fit everything I want in the game (I add a LOT of music) and want to know if I'd be able to get a bigger card to fit more stuff in. Even 4GB would be more then enough, but I need more then 2GB
10  Help & Tutorials / Help / BrawlEx size limit is 50? on: August 21, 2014, 06:20:21 PM
Hi everyone!

So I've hit a bit of a snag in my attempts to work BrawlEx. The first 50 icons/characters work fine, but once I try to go beyond this, BrawlEx begins to stop working as well.

Attempting to add my 51st icon (my 13th BrawlEx character - I also added icons for Sheik and Zero Suit Samus) makes all the CSS Icons much smaller, which isn't a problem, but the 51st icon (no matter what it may be - Existing character, BrawlEx character, Random) disappears. However, the icon becomes invisible and stretches just above the first 2 players CSS Portrait areas, and can still be selected and loads the character fine. It even loads when random is chosen and chooses the character. It's kinda annoying, but I can live with it I guess...

However, attempting to add a 52nd icon (14th BrawlEx) leads to the same result as above - 50 icons, 51st stretched above the 2 CSS Portrait Areas. The 52nd doesn't even appear invisible and is completely unable to be selected. The game works fine as it does above, but when I had everyone selected as random, it randomly froze after a few battles (maybe 6 or 7?), which I'm guessing is because it was trying to load the 14th BrawlEx character (which I made able to be selected as random).

Anywho, anyone else ever run into this problem? Any ideas how to fix this? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong or what's gone wrong
11  Help & Tutorials / Help / BrawlEX Random Help on: August 19, 2014, 01:12:19 PM
Hi everyone!

So I've been successful so far in adding characters into my game, but there's something I really wanna know.

I mainly use random as I like to use someone new every battle, with a unique costume, plus it's a great party trick to be able to beat all my friends using any character. However, I've found that choosing random is never selecting any of my new BrawlEx characters. It is selecting Sheik and Zero Suit Samus, who I gave their own roster slots, but never any of my new characters.

Anyone know how to fix this? I use Sammi Husky's Brawl Clone Tool primarily, and I recall on his tutorial video that he didn't make the tool adjust what random chooses, so I just really want to know how to do it myself.
12  Help & Tutorials / Help / BrawlEx PSA Question on: August 18, 2014, 07:46:24 PM
Hi everyone!

Here's a little question I've been wondering. Is there any exact reason why I wouldn't be able to use a PSA designed for one character over a clone of that character that doesn't have one of the rel module files? Like for instance, using a PSA designed for Sheik over a clone of Sheik? I feel like it probably wouldn't work because of the missing rel, but I also don't exactly understand why it wouldn't work.

Note that I would want to keep the original character as well as the new one, so if it just overwrites the old moveset for the original character completely, I won't worry about it.

But yeah - is this possible?
13  Help & Tutorials / Help / Battle Names Help on: August 18, 2014, 01:08:12 PM
Hi everyone!

Just because I've completely forgotten, where are the names that appear below a BP in game located, and what is their dimensions/pixel sizes?
14  Help & Tutorials / Help / Customise Song Title Appearence? on: August 17, 2014, 12:52:19 PM
Hello everyone!

Okay so I'll make it clear right away - I already know how to change song titles to reflect the music I put into the game, so I don't need help with that part.

However, I noticed on some videos of brawl hacks that they were able to edit the appearance of the song titles - not the text involved (although that was edited too) but the actual appearance of the song title. It was split into two lines as apposed to one, and was written in a fancy style font.

I'm probably not explaining this too well so I'm gonna just link a video with an example of what I'm talking about. You only have to watch the first 5 seconds or so to see what I'm referring to - it happens at the very beginning of the battle (I don't know how to make it look like a video here - for reference, it's one of those Smash 4 HUD video things)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqEL6yVAAhI

So my question is - how do I get this customised song title appearance into my game? I can't find anywhere explaining it myself.
15  Help & Tutorials / Help / BrawlEx Results Screen Help Please? on: August 15, 2014, 09:52:20 AM
Hello everyone! Long time, no see!

So I've begun tinkering with BrawlEx and it all seems to be working beautifully (Aside from the fact I can't get a character's name to appear below their BP during a battle), but I've encountered one serious problem which I just cannot fix no matter what I try.

Simply put, after a battle, the game will always crash before it reaches the results screen. I have tried every conceivable method I know of to try and fix it, but it's always the same result - Silent Crash if I finish a match, Buzzing Crash if I try to leave a battle from the pause menu. I have absolutely no clue what's causing this, but I'm about 99% sure it must have something to do with the STGRESULT.PAC file, but what's within or missing from the pac that's actually making it crash it beyond me.

Anyone have any ideas what to do? Because I'm completely at a and have no clue where to go from here. It doubly sucks because it's literally the last thing I need to complete to get BrawlEX working perfectly 100% and I've encountered no problems up until this last final step.

If anyone could help me, I'd be forever indebted to you!  Kirby Dance
