46  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Best way to open this file? on: December 29, 2015, 10:42:31 PM
The newest BrawlBox can open .gct files, cause BrawlBox is cool like that.(Seriously, basically anything you want to do, movesets, sounds, textures, imports, music, and even .gcts, basically anything Brawl-related, it can do quite a bit)

Sweet, I think I just downloaded that thing today. I think that solves this, then.

I got this .gct file from here: http://download1199.mediafire.com/wlzcx54e8nfg/6e2kygk4sp3mw7m/RSBE01.gct

I got the link from a BrawlEx tutorial video. I think it would supply me with everything I need in the RSBE file that I go into to put character mods in, like all of the stage files and common files and stuff, which would help a lot. Unfortunately, I don't have any programs that can open this thing, and Googling this online just advertises other file opening programs I don't want. So, does anyone here know the true best way to open this, or if my guess about the RSBE thing is correct, another file in a more convenient extension?

Also, the BrawlEx Clone Tool's link is dead.

Do I actually need to download all of the parts in the downloads? I really need to add more actual spaces to the screen rather than having a character's palette be a separate mod.

I actually have new characters in, now. I even have Riivoloution already on the System Menu, too.

I notice some characters come with portraits, too, how do I add those into the game? It would help a lot. Or even, how could I make my own?

Also, I sorta goofed with Mario mods. He was supposed to have SMBZ Mario on one palette, Classic Mickey on one, SM64 Mario on one, and a Pac-Man PSA on one. I never actually saw Pac-Man, but since then, Mario's always in a T-Stance, and on the first palette, he's a T-Stance Mickey. I'll try some more stuff, but how do I get him out of T-Stance?

I don't know the exact amount, but using something called BrawlEx, you can add at the very least 56, and, considering there are only 35 Brawl characters(On the CSS that you can pick from), that's more than double the amount of characters, so I doubt you need to worry about that. In fact, you can actually have multiple characters take up only 1 slot, unless you're that obsessive about having like 10 recolors for every single character that you add.(Since BrawlEx can be combined with cBliss, which adds extra costume slots)

Be prepared, though, because it's extremely confusing and difficult to learn.

I quote this, because now that I've added a few characters. I'm going to need to try this BrawlEx. It's getting really hard to remember which palette equals each character, plus, I have a ton of Mario mods I collected right now.

I downloaded Homebrew, I now have it on my Wii as a full channel, but which application should I use to put in some of the many hacks I downloaded in a physical, unaltered copy of the game?

EDIT: I got Gecko to register on Homebrew. I'm still not sure how to get my characters and stages in from that point, though...

DOUBLE EDIT: Turns out I needed to be using Riivolution for the type of modding I was interested in, so I went and got that. I got SMBZ Mario, Bomberman, and Charlotte in, but how do I put in Bomberman's portraits and character-specific sounds.

Alright, I got a SD card. What's the very first thing I should do to start? Get Homebrew Channel? It's a 8 GB Lexar card, too.

Oh, wow. Thanks, I was thinking of a moveset idea and wanted the Standard-B to spawn just about every possible item type thing in the game, I never even thought about the side stuff like Wario's bike pieces, ROB's gyroscope, Link's bombs or Peach's peaches.

You can even get the bonus stuff like that, too? (Stickers and CDs?)

Is it possible to spawn items? I mean to have the character do some motion, and spawn any of the game items right in their hand to use/absorb. Even food items, which are instantly used when spawned, and badges, which are instantly applied when spawned, and even other things like trophies, stickers, and CDs. Finally, even to spawn Sandbags with this attack? Weapons would be spawned, then you can use/throw them like normal. Is any of this do-able?

Sorry if this isn't the type of place to be asking this, but has anything close to Pac-Man's Smash 4 moveset been proven to be possible or not? At least Bonus Fruit, Power Pellet, Fire Hydrant, and how he spawns the ghosts in his Smash attacks?

Also, I checked the list over again, and, is it possible to add Super Armor to an attack? I heard you also couldn't make reflectors, either.

It's hard to learn the many palette slots or more character slots? Or even worse, both?

Sort of a add-on to question 4, but:

Has anyone figured out what the max number of character slots can be modded to, if you can even add more?
