46  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 16, 2014, 06:34:00 PM
Revision 3 is finally done!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/sltz1l3d4nlolp4/VillagerPSARevision3.zip

new stuff - Throws and Final Smash done, and the Kirby Hat started.

i put the costumes in there just in case, but they haven't changed since last time, so you don't need to change them.  the rest of the files have changed though.  i updated the ReadMe to tell you where to put the extra stuff, and included a ChangeLog, even if it's not too informative...

so with that, i have a few tweaks i want to make to this version, but the next update will (hopefully) include all the extra versions i've promised, being an .rel port to someone other that Pit, a BrawlEx port, and a Project: M version.  and once those are done, i'll focus on my Clean Up list, get the CSPs and extra stuff ready, and call it a Final Release.
47  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 15, 2014, 11:45:38 PM
Wario is PERFECT! I never use him! Cheesy Now about this picture... Let me Sherlock Holmes it for a min. So, He would select no, and the screen would go black, or "Reset". Then all enemies would take damage, 40-80%. Then a launch (Optional) and it ends. I'd laugh and say "Holy ****!" If Nintendo had the same Final Smash, but in their form.

well, you more or less nailed it.  i actually have him shaking his head Yes, then the screen going black, and all enemies taking damage while the screen is black.  so it's more of a Save of Scariness rather than the Reset of Doom.

so i have another question.  i know i said i was going to release another update tomorrow, and i'm fully prepared to do so, but would you guys mind having a 96.875% done Final Smash with it, or should i try to get it fully done first?  right now i'm having some trouble getting the Screen Tint to work, when it did just fine previously.

the update will have the Throws done, the Final Smash (almost) done, and a new present...

although right now it's just the Hat.  i thought i at least got the Slingshot Bullet in, but it doesn't feel like playing nicely right now, and getting the Slingshot itself in will take some extra work, since i need to replace Pit's Bow with it, whereas i have it on the Villager's character model instead.
48  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 14, 2014, 12:17:26 PM
which is why i said an .rel port will be IN ADDITION to a BrawlEx version.  there are still lazy people like myself that haven't switched over to BrawlEx, so an .rel port would be the best way to delay the inevitable switch.  or for the people that watch the tutorials, and think that it's magic and confusing, again myself included.  i've already had someone volunteer to make the BrawlEx version, so don't worry about it.  just know that there will be many versions of the Villager in the final release.
49  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 14, 2014, 08:49:16 AM
Oh my gosh Wario would be perfect. There's actually nothing over him, so it would work out fantastic.
And Final Smash looking good so far. Smiley

why thank you.  i've got the Final Smash almost the way i want it, just needs a little more work, then that's done.  and +1 for the Wario port.  hopefully Pit can actually be ported, i have no idea how to do it, nor how it works...

well with brawlex you can make have its own slot so why would you replace wario?you can also add textures with brawlex(no cbliss needed)

also if you really want him brawlex friendly you should swap his effect file for an enemy effect file so it doesnt conflict with pit or pit ports/psas
this port would be in addition to the BrawlEx and P:M versions, so keep that in mind.

thanks for actually bothering to read my entire post.

since i will be able to do stuff today, i can actually try to get resetti to spawn. i am pretttyyy sure i know how to

if you're thinking of trying the Spawn Item command, good luck.  i tried it, and got nothing from it.  i could get items and Pokemon/Assist Trophy projectiles, but never the actual Pokemon/Assist Trophy.  at this point, he's not too important.  plus, with as long as he stays, it might cause issues if you get the Smash Ball again before he disappears.  what i've got now works quite nicely.
50  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 13, 2014, 08:28:51 PM
Neato! So this Final Smash will include the bees and Resetti, I think. Besides this, This is the best PSA I've seen so far!

why thank you.  i believe it's a great PSA as well.  but the Final Smash actually won't have Resetti (can't make him spawn), nor will it have Bees (i'd rather not just cheap out and use Pit's, plus i couldn't get the Tree in without a ton of extra work, and it never looked quite right even when it was in).

i can say that it'll involve this though...

so while i'm here, i'd like to ask a question.  if i were to have an .rel made for the Villager, who would you like to see him over?  personally, i'd like to do Wario, so that i could have both the Male and Female Villagers without needing to swap files.  that'd also let us have the icon, victory song, and all that stuff too, without it messing with anyone else's.  plus i'm not too fond of Wario.  this port would be in addition to the BrawlEx and P:M versions, so keep that in mind.
51  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: March 12, 2014, 01:24:47 PM
It looks like it's rigged better than Snoopy's (no offense if you see this, Snoopy).

meh, mine's about 2 years old.  i'm not surprised it could be improved.  kind of like my Rosalina a few months back.
52  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 07, 2014, 04:36:55 PM
So is there any news on another beta release? Not to rush anything, I'm just really excited about this psa in particular.

as am i.  and of course there's no rush, i simply do things when i can.  speaking of, next week is my spring break, so i can half promise an update with at least the Throws by next Sunday.  i still need to make a few more of the Catch animations, and i've been messing around with the Final Smash a bit, so far only being able to throw it into an infinite loop.  so yes, an update soonish.
53  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 02, 2014, 11:52:31 PM
I can totally imagine this, and him screaming "FORE!!!" XD

hey, someone got what i was going for.  i can die happy now.  well, after the final release...

WHAT IF. everyone decides to build a separate SSB4 character and one person just grabs them altogether for the BrawlEX. I think Nintendo can't follow then.

well, if it makes you feel any better, i'll be including a BrawlEx version, if the regular needs any special changes to make it work right.  which i haven't heard if it does, because i'm far too lazy to set it up for myself.

and for the final Throw, the Back Throw.  wanted to give the Axe a bit more love.  once again, the Net will be there for the first few frames.

54  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: February 27, 2014, 08:00:37 PM
Hah, cool! I think this hack will be the best yet! But is it normal for this to remind me of Megaman's Throw for SSB4? It DOES seem similar....

y'know, i didn't even realize that.  suppose a little inspiration came from that then.

i think i'm having a little too much fun on these.  ThrowLw now.  same with ThrowHi, the Net will be there for the first few frames, but then switch to the Shovel.  opponent goes under his foot.

55  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: February 26, 2014, 01:55:03 PM
Definitely gonna add this PSA to my BrawlEx. Great work, Snoops!

why thank you

nicely done. i imagine one of them will involve the slingshot. would be funny seeing villager shoot someone upwards or backwards.

actually, what i have currently planned for Throws don't involve the Slingshot.  speaking of the Up Throw...

it's actually the 'I caught a Bug!' animation.  and yes, the opponent will be held up then tossed up at the end.
56  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: February 25, 2014, 08:39:30 PM
It's even scarier when the people the background are also happy.

that's because they know they're going to have fun with him later.

so now that i basically have the grab the way i'd like it, i feel like making the Throws.  here's the Forward Throw.  pretend the Net is there for the first few frames instead of the Umbrella, it's supposed to switch between them.

57  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: February 24, 2014, 07:45:09 PM
so yeah.  i did a thing.

58  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: February 16, 2014, 08:46:43 PM
Okay great! I only have mods via project M so I guess I'll have to wait. Great job so far though! AWESOME 2.0!

ah, that makes sense then.  guess i still have the old man mentality that everyone runs mods through Gecko or Riivolution.  looks like that means i'm doing a P:M version, once i get the Throws and Final Smash done.  i'd better get to playing it soon then...

Hey Snoopy you know Villager's dash attack where he  charges at them and falls, are you planning to put a flower vase in his hand like when he is in the Wii U version?

And do you plan to put a bowling ball, etc so it matches the Wii U version because I saw that his down air involved him dropping something (I think) and I thought it would be nice if there was a bowling ball so it matches the Wii u Version a bit more.

Also I vote for the bee final smash because, one I have no idea what Roccceti does. I saw his assist trophy but I don't even know what it actually does, and two I don't know what Plan C ACTUALLY is....

And you know his down taunt? Where he waters a plant? I think it would be really cool if instead of plants he grows a tree and his side taunt could be him swinging an axe, cutting the tree so that it resembles more of the Wii U version. I know it's your Project,  but here are some suggestions......Thanks! Grin

honestly, there's a few reasons i haven't done a 100% copy/paste from Smash 4 for the Villager.  one, i'd like for mine to be a little more distinct.  that's not to say that PSAs that do that are bad or anything, but i'd rather have mine be a bit different, since i've been 'working' on this PSA for quite a few years now.  i use the term 'working' very loosely.  two, there's at least a few things that i doubt i'd be able to re-create in Brawl with the current editing methods we have.  of course, this isn't to say that i would be opposed to making more of a Smash 4 Villager, but that would happen once Smash 4 is closer to coming out.

like the Tree, i could easily make it look like it does in Smash 4, but there's no way (that i know of) to make it interactible, meaning setting up the Tree, then leaving it for later.  the Bowling Ball is possible, but i'd need to make it an article like the Slingshot bullet is, but i can't because Pit only has the one usable Article, and we can't add Articles, at least without waaaaaay too much .rel editing, and probably not even then.  adding the Sapling to the Dash would be relatively easy, but is completely unnecessary (as i think it is even in Smash 4) since he trips plenty without holding one in the AC games.

as for the Final Smash, i probably should stop assuming that because i've been playing AC basically since it was released on the Gamecube, that not everyone has.  the deal with Resetti is that if you reset or turn off the game without saving, he'll pop up and lecture you about not doing that.  if you've ever seen him in Assist Trophy form, the 2 minute long lecture is pretty much exactly what he does in AC when you see him.  the joke with my FS idea is that the Villager 'resets' the game, hence having Resetti come up after.

so thanks for making sure i keep myself in line, i need that occasionally.  if i'm not doing something, it's probably because i think i have a good reason for not doing so, but should be sanity checked now and then.  and now that makes two votes for Bees...

Maybe you can found something interessing here :

http://www.sounds-resource.com/ds/acww/sound/1733/

EDIT : On the link I give to you :
SWAR1675_General
401 : Eat a fruit.
406 : Dramatic expression
413 : Drink
426 : Surprise sound
433 : Put off something
481 : Pan hit?

ah, cool, thanks, that'll make it a bit easier.  guess i just need a list of what sounds i'd want now.

These would be great for a Villager soundpack! Thanks KTH! Well it's really up to Snoopy and SonicBrawler if they want to do it. But that would be awesome if they did. It's quite annoying always hearing Pit's voice.....well anyways hey Snoopy, after the final release it out, do you plan on making all ths CSP'S, BP'S, ect.? Thanks! Kirby Dance

yes and yes.  well, yes to Pit's voice being annoying after a while, and yes to the CSP's and stuff.  although they'll be included with the final release.  those are just quick things i'm putting off until the end.

Will this PSA work in Project M? And will there be female Villager Costumes? I was hoping to play Villager in SSB4 so this is great! Smiley

uh... i doubt it'd work in P:M as it currently stands.  but by the number of times it's been asked, i may need to make a P:M version...  as for the Female Villager...

already done.  in the download, all of them labeled FitPit0XF.pcs are the Female costumes.
60  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: February 16, 2014, 04:29:16 PM
well, it certainly wouldn't be for voice clips, since the Villager doesn't talk.  it would be kind of nice for the items and a few other sound effects that don't have a decent already in Brawl equivalent, like the Net swoosh, Shovel digging, some of the emotion sounds, stuff like that.  so maybe.
