However, I do have a theory in regards to your problem. It could be your Sephiroth PSA. I've read that it can cause freezing in certain instances, though I'm not sure why.
Yeah, I remember the computer Sephiroth was clinging to the wall on the side of the left building on 4chan city, and a Party Ball just opened with five Bob-Ombs, and that's when it froze.
I see. Well, I think that I figured out your problem. I read in Hollow's PSA thread that some users have had the game freeze when Sephiroth does his wall-cling and attempts to do a special move. Have you downloaded the newest version of the PSA? That might fix it. Otherwise, it's up to Hollow to fix the PSA.

Do you have both the .pac files and the .pcs files? For characters that transform, you need both.
That wouldn't stop the texture from loading though, it would revert them back to normal after transforming. The problem might be that you've named the folders and the files for the pokemon incorrectly. Check that they are called:
Oops. My bad. Yeah, listen to AdfroMan, he just might be on to something. Thanks to the files using the Japanese names, it can be pretty easy to get either the names of the folders wrong or the names of the files wrong.
If you're using the version in the guide, then no, you don't have to have _en at the end of your common# files. Trust me, this is the same version that I use, and neither my common3 nor my common5.pac have _en at the end.
Ah, so you used the modlauncher.xml. You put the common5 and common3 in the brawlmods/textures/system folder. CSS and SSS stuff have to go into the common5 file.
It all depends on the .xml file that you are using. Can you show us which ones you are using, or are you just using the Brawl+/-/whatever version provided in the guide?
-Downloaded the Master_MewtwoV2 package -Opened the FitLucariomewtwo.pac with BrawlBox -Saved it as a pcs file -Renamed the .pcs file as FitLucario00.pcs and the FitLucariomewtwo.pac as FitLucario.pac -Opened my SD card -Put the FitLucario00.pcs, FitLucarioMotionEtc.pca and FitLucario.pac in private/wii/APP/RSBP/pf/fighter/lucario -Launched Gecko OS V1.9 and played Brawl+, with no new texture

Did you remember to set the compression on the .pcs file to LZ77, or did you simply rename the file?
