The skyBG file is just a simple white-to-black gradient and whenever I try to use an image file instead, the file size is too big (even though the file remains the same size as before). Any tips on how to edit the sky?
Anyway, here's what I have so far:
Updates (7/8/09):I have finished most of the texture. I just need critiques and suggestions at this point. But this is what I did:
I added a new sky. It's a starry night sky, so the map is pretty much in perpetual night. However, i can't stop the daylight changes at all, so while nighttime looks great, daytime looks like a very bright evening. So to remedy that, I added a big moon, akin to the Luigi's mansion map, so that way, during the bright daytime, it'll look like the light in the background is from the moon. This way it doesn't look so random. The best part is, aside from the moon moving position every now and then due to the changes in time, the moon is seen through the whole cycle and changes depending on the day as well, and each time of day makes it look as nice as ever. I'll let you see for yourself.
Time order: Morning, Noon, Sunset, Midnight.
