1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Riivolution and Voice Packs on: June 03, 2010, 12:08:26 AM
I'm trying to use Riivolution to load certain voice packs for individual characters. For example, I downloaded a file containing Bowser's Galaxy and BiS voice, but I don't know how to make a sound file out of that.

Also, I know that Riivolution can load new voices since there's a Lucario -> Mewtwo hack on Brawl Vault that does it for the announcer calling Lucario Mewtwo instead.

I saw that hex editing is required and that VILE made a guide, but I have no idea where it is.
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / Converting .pcs to .pac still causes freezing on: October 29, 2009, 10:24:39 PM
There's a Zelda and Zero Suit Samus texture I want to use, but only the pcs files were supplied. I found lz77 to convert the files and then converted them, renaming and adding both pcs and pac files to the appropriate folder.

However, when starting a match, it STILL freezes.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / 2 problems: Sheik Textures and Wifi freezing on: July 29, 2009, 04:27:47 PM
I have both file types of the sheik texture I want to use, but it's not showing up in-game. The sheik textures are in the Zelda folder as FitSheik03.

I tested multiple textures and none of them work, so it must be something wrong with the file placement or name, but I can't imagine what.

As for my second problem, Wifi keeps freezing now. The only hacks I'm running are the most recent SD Card Loader (Textures and music) and the extended replay hack with name tags. With 3 or less people in a wifi game, my game doesn't crash. But with 4 people, it crashes every time at the "Ready to fight" screen.
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Brawl ISO isn't burning: Reserve Track error on: July 08, 2009, 12:17:51 AM
Failed to Reserve Track!
Reason: Invalid Field in CDB

This is what I get when I try to burn Brawl to a DVD. I know my DVDs and my burn drive work fine since I burned two games today already.

The DVD is single-layer. I heard that to burn single-layer, I just force a burn and ignore all the errors that show up, but I can't ignore the errors if they prevent me from continuing, haha.

So, any advice?
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Texturing the Sky Help on: July 07, 2009, 07:56:50 PM
I'm trying to edit Battlefield, and everything has been a success, but I don't know how to edit the sky. There's a skybg file that's just a gradient black-to-white, and there's another sky file that's just white clouds on a black background. Changing either of these makes the file size too large, but I know it can be done because I've seen a hacked battlefield with a different sky, ocean, terrain, ect.

So can anyone offer advice?
6  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Kagato's Moonlight Battlefield *Completed - Download available* on: June 30, 2009, 05:51:52 PM
Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PCG89IBA

This is a project I worked on today. I wanted Battlefield to be darker and more Final Destination-ish. The only problem I'm having is changing the sky. The skyBG file is just a simple white-to-black gradient and whenever I try to use an image file instead, the file size is too big (even though the file remains the same size as before). Any tips on how to edit the sky?

Anyway, here's what I have so far:

Updates (7/8/09):

I have finished most of the texture. I just need critiques and suggestions at this point. But this is what I did:

I added a new sky. It's a starry night sky, so the map is pretty much in perpetual night. However, i can't stop the daylight changes at all, so while nighttime looks great, daytime looks like a very bright evening. So to remedy that, I added a big moon, akin to the Luigi's mansion map, so that way, during the bright daytime, it'll look like the light in the background is from the moon. This way it doesn't look so random. The best part is, aside from the moon moving position every now and then due to the changes in time, the moon is seen through the whole cycle and changes depending on the day as well, and each time of day makes it look as nice as ever. I'll let you see for yourself.

Time order: Morning, Noon, Sunset, Midnight.

Updates (7/8/09):

I'm finished! All that's left are for you all to critique and let me know if you want any changes! I also fixed the platform colors to match the bottom area!

Finished product:

7  Help & Tutorials / Help / Stage Texture Hacking problem (involves STASH) on: June 30, 2009, 12:54:44 PM

Thats what happens when I try to edit the Battlefield stage. I followed the Ash guide perfectly and made sure I had everything, so I don't know what the problem is. This is what my folder looks like:

When I run the step1_extract and type the name in, I get that duplicate/not found error and that current_mod.ash file appears. There are no IMG files in sight.

What have I done wrong here?
8  Help & Tutorials / Help / +R or -R? on: June 26, 2009, 04:20:13 PM
I've asked friends this question many times and many of them say "Use +R" or "Use -R" DVDs. However, I hear there's not a difference. Well if there was no difference, there would be no reason to have 2 different kinds, right?

So I'm trying to burn a texture/music hacked Brawl to a DL DVD, but before I get the DVD, I want to know which type is better for the purpose of burning Brawl (or any game for that matter).

(Also, I saw that it's possible to burn Brawl to a single layer DVD, but I hear you lose information regarding it so I don't know if it's a good idea).

Anyway, main question: Should I get a DVD+R or DVD-R?
