Normal problems? there's some ways you can try to prevent them, but for the most part, they're uncontrollable. which is why people should focus on them and make brawl hacks have the potential to be flawless
You sometimes end up, for example, with models who have totally different body types or that don't match the bone structure, causing problems. And the normals issue, which of course kills shading and makes it look like the vertexed parts were just retextured. This can't be changed.
If more people here knew C#, or where willing to learn it, Brawl hacks could be flawless. Random C# developers don't care about Brawl hacks, but we do. The problem is that most of us don't know C# (I do though). Brawlbox already has the mdl0 file separated into editable variables, but it takes time to write and edit code to modify them without errors. C# really isn't a hard language. Take the modset group for example. They're modifying Brawlbox's code, but not for character hacks. We need more developers to focus on editing mdl0 models and not other nodes (like SRT0 and AI).
Have you guys talked to RandomTalkingBush about it? I'm sure he knows a fair bit, because he's manually imported 3 TF2 models by going through a DAE file with a hex editor.
That is all common knowledge what he did, what isn't commonly known (or not known at all) are materials and shader definitions (and a few other things that aren't particularly vital to get a working model).
Well I haven't talked to Tcll in a while, I've been working on my converter every once and a while, Vile's been off messing around with his vertex injector and I think Mariokart's looking into the format on his own. It's all kinda unorganized right now, everyone's doing their own thing...
I think I'm done with the MDL0 format (or at least taking a break from it), I've been making a few tools to edit the internal data of retail PKG files.
Now the bad news, I forgot to change the settings for the screen recorder, so only the last 10 or so minutes got recorded (I was just touching up the hair). Idk if you guys would want that.
EDIT: I fixed her breasts, in the pic here they are weird looking. Also, about the time lapse, I might be able to give the next best thing, I will edit her face and give a time lapse of that.
Don't double post man. Your Rei vertex is fine. It just needs more details. Use the original Zero Suit Samus textures for the shading, then removes the Chozo crest on her left boob.
That isn't the texture... those where just color materials to post a pic of the vertex itself. I have begun work on a texture from scratch, I'm working on a program to redo the UV coordinates so I can put a flatten map on and get accurate straight lines.
